We're Rooting For Audacity
A huge congrats to Audacity and Jak on their first egg of the 2025 season! If you're familiar with the nest history at Sauces Canyon, then you know that this pair has not raised an eaglet since 2021. They've seen years of multiple broken and unviable eggs.

With the first egg laid February 2nd, we will now wait patiently and watch the Sauces Cam for additional eggs and a successful incubation period. Stay tuned to the featured chat and our social media channels for important updates about the nest.

Howdy Beakers  :)

Oh, for those who mentioned my greatnephew's "cast" in the picture I posted... That isn't a cast! LOL. That is a temporary wrap. He will get a hard cast in a few days. He's just holding his arm out - that's not a hard wrap or cast in that pic - just a soft, temporary wrap. I may get a picture of his permanent hard cast after he gets it - we'll see.

Karen, I'm so sorry about your friend who died in that awful plane crash so long ago. It sounds like she really made a positive mark, and is certainly fondly remembered, and missed. Good luck with your dryer door - maybe you could think of using it as part of your daily upper body exercise! LOL.  ;)  I think Piper and I would get along well - neither of us are early risers.  ;D

Lani, after you report it to the FTC, also report it to the FCC! The FTC take reports of spam, fraud, and harassing emails, use of internet, and phone!  Glad you aren't getting any from them right now. Yep, NEVER reply to any spam or unwanted or fraudulent or harassing emails, texts, or messages. That is part of how the senders know they are reaching a valid numer. Simply delete it and report it. Keep reporting it, multiple times. Good luck! I don't think you should need to change your number. If the senders don't know who you are, you will eventually be successful in avoiding them. If you do think it is coming from someone who actually knows who you are, then definitely report it to the police, else, hit delete, and report it. Hugs!

Lani, and others with similar issues... Scroll down the web page at the link below to see some of the info and reporting options at the FCC:
https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us - FCC Consumer Inquiries and Complaints Center

It's 78 degrees here today, and severe clear, blue blue sky! Gorgeous! Nice walk! Tomorrow, it will be 20 degrees cooler and rainy. Then it will go to the mid-60s, and then cooler, and then back to the 60s and 70s, and then way cooler again with highs in the very low 50s after that. Screwy roller coaster weather - like many of you are having, as far as the up-and-down temps. Swampy the Gator was up and at 'em at the pond today!  ???  :o He's not supposed to be!  ::)  Way too early for him to be up from his winter mud nap, and he wasn't even muddy, like he normally is when he first gets up from his winter mud nap. Swampy wants to know what's up with the weather, too! Pond turtles better be on alert - Swampy's gonna be hungry! He had his head up high, and his mouth open! Maybe he had already found some wake-up-from-winter-nap breakfast! Watch out! Gator get your granny!  8)

PUFF   So happy to hear you had a good night's sleep on your clean sheets  LOL  Take care of that cold!  Any spare Campbells chicken noodle in the pantry?   Love when we can see cardinals in the winter esp against any new snow.

PHYL   Loved the AM pottery esp the bell. :)  Feel so bad about your knee.  The doc can be blamed if something serious is going on with the knee.  :-\     Talons crossed for Audacity at this nest riddled with troubles.

LISA    If that mug wasn't so $$$ on Etsy I would buy it  LOLOL

LANI  My guess is 4 sloths in that tangled mess LOLOL

I just hope that everyone stops pointing fingers at each and someone comes up with a viable solution before this already out of hand Bird Flu situation gets really out hand.  ::)

It makes me nervous when I see H5N1 'bird flu' infecting more and more mammal species including humans.  :(

tsk  Sky was beautiful blue, sun was  full bright, his red-feathered body glowing red in the sun.  A very special morning just enjoying his appearance.  Also had some a few goldfinch and house finch show up.

Then the clouds, winds, and drop of temperature came and ruined the rest of the day.

I'm so stressed about this knee injury. Normally I don't get like this. ...but...

Tsk- I agree with you. Blame the doc's for not feeling how important this
'could ' be.

Gonna call it a day. As slow as I get about it'll be an early start to just make appt on time.  Jim took off for the after noon and will drive.
LOL It's my driving leg that's put out of commission.  :'(

Good Evening Beakers...SEDs all.

Of all things, if you hadn't heard - On the Chicago/Lake Michigan shores this last week they found many birds, including over 100 dead mergansers of all things.  Real sad and out of control now.

Check out all the snow at the headquarters of Crater Lake National Park! ❄️❄️❄️
The road to Rim Village from park headquarters is closed due to the winter storm. They measured 117” of snow depth this morning with a 24-hour snow total of 17”.

Clynn here's a time lapse video of the same seen.

The camera is inside of another building looking out of it's second story window now covered by snow.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, wow on 6" of snow in Medford! I checked Corvallis, looks like they are having a mixture. It snows a little, then it melts, temps hovering on both sides of 32.  Love the picture of the baby sloth cuddle on the branch! The Royal Albies are sure keeping the rangers busy! Wouldn't you love to go there for a day or two and just watch the rangers with care for the birds? Love seeing the picture of Iris and the train!

BL, thanks for the time lapse video of the snow on that same building, the snow buried the cam!  I too am worried about the bird flu, it seems to be getting out of hand.
The CDC should be on this...

Puff, that is terrible news of all the dead birds...

Phyl, wishing you some real help for your knee today when you see the doctor! Cry if you have to! Terrible to have to wait this long when the pain is so bad. Reminds me of what the Dr said when I almost crawled into my appointment (1996), 'come back in 3 weeks of it isn't better'.  Isn't it good news that the Sauces egg is a few days old? Hoping and praying that they have some good luck this year! Beautiful pic of Audacity and her precious egg...

baz, Swampy at the pond!  He is befuddled by the roller coaster weather that we are all having, it seems! Thanks for Polk Salad Annie, haven't heard that one in a while!
