karen - Good luck at doc appt.

kb - Thanks for info and video.

Lani
- Thanks for the InciWeb link.

The contractor is coming tomorrow to start on my kitchen floor, and doors.  I had to pack up everything in the standing pantry and on a bookcase shelf thingy I have in the kitchen, plus move the kitchen table and chairs.  I am ready, I think.   :)

TIG  Pretty sad game.  Lost their spark but had a good season.

KAREN   The men had very legitimate reasons  LOL

LANI   WOW  Only 6 yrs old and no parts around.  Did you check your home for an appliance gremlin???   I'll have to scout out a sweatshirt robe.  Sounds perfect.

Gotta run..BBL

Where is everybody this afternoon LOL

I'm just sadly roosting here in January at mile marker something or other on the PCH.    :(

I'll spin us up some vinlyl to keep us warm from the Great State of California.

Throwing diapers and water and money at the present LA fire situation is just not my cup of tea for those that really know me.
The credentials, experience and knowledge to actually help the people seriously hurting here.

As invited.

I was a passenger up in a USFS helicopter today.
All the cameras from any source never do justice to the ocular attached to your brain 360° swivel view.
I have sadly seen it before but hoped I would never have to see it again. Holly Shit.
I lost my professionalism for a bit.
Sara the crew member next to me handed me a days long dirty smoky faded reddish bandanna and said have a moment Sir.

We all have.

Karen _ over the ear the thump noise of the rotors of a open door old Bell UH-1 Iroquois. Huey.

Well it's SOUNDS like rotor ear shot ground love rescue to me.   :)

I always know what type of older flying carcass is flying my carcass. I knew I knew you peeps and this craft.

I'll kick your tires harder than you do.

1,000 ft above the terrain doing 140 MPH you can bet.   ;)

Facial expressions say it all even with "helicopter headphones" on.

I gave Sara my now almost cheesecloth dirty smoky blue bandanna from the CA Camp Fire in 2018.

Sara can I keep this one ?

An elbow patch elbow bump nod and just took back off ..

HERE.

Good night!

Dear Lord, we ask for your continued protection for all in harm's way of the CA fires. Shield every person, every family, every child, animal and wildlife caught in the path of these flames. Guide them to safety and provide shelter for the displaced.

Please help the firefighters, emergency responders, and volunteers who risk their lives daily to combat the flames. Strengthen them with courage and endurance, and surround them with Your divine protection. May their efforts be fruitful, and may they find rest and peace amidst their labor. Amen

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, beautiful pics of houses in the snow! Beautiful Red-crowned Cranes in the 365. I would love to fall asleep to the sounds in all of the 365 videos... Thanks for Amy's Blog, the Norths are looking so beautiful and their nest does look cozy!

Lani, I was intrigued with Aly's suggestion to sage your house! So I looked it up and there are actually instructions on how to do it!  I say it wouldn't hurt, but I would have to wait and do it when it's warm enough to open all the windows in the house! https://i.pinimg.com/736x/05/76/e0/0576e0a15687a7f20ad666ada48707f5.jpg   Thanks for the update on the baby sloths, sweet little babies...  Sweet pup with his teddy bear...

BL, if I am understanding right, you were able to view the LA area via helicopter? Man, what feelings that must have evoked...

tsk, I was also doing some spring cleaning yesterday! A drawer here and there, a closet... Just getting the hidden areas done a little at a time. I am really trying to reduce the amount of stuff! Goodwill, get ready! Some stuff I can put out for DAV, which is where Ed and Kelsey go all the time. As long as it's my stuff! And I can tell him not to buy it!!  ;D ;D

Lisa, your new floors are almost here! Will they get it all done today? Would love to see a before and after pic, it makes such a difference! I watch a lot of the decorating shows and love seeing the before/afters!

I found this article that shows several scenes of the destruction in LA, with one house that wasn't touched:  https://apnews.com/article/california-wildfires-last-remaining-untouched-homes-photo-gallery-5adfbac6e9d52ffaed5126b7d7469733?user_email=ee49f33cb7c0743a6a2024111cc7baab9c847fd9093be752a928b36be515a5ed&utm_medium=Morning_Wire&utm_source=Sailthru_AP&utm_campaign=Morning%20Wire_14%20Jan_2025&utm_term=Morning%20Wire%20Subscribers

NEFL - waiting for a pip! Day 37

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

LISA   Yay  It is finally beginning  ;D   Hope you've take a "before" photo.  Thurs I'm having a cabinet guy come and evaluate my aging cabinets and wearing off of the stain around many of the knobs.  I'd like to replace the fronts.

KB  That little guy will go places on the drums.

BL   What an experience.  WOW  I agree with KAREN   You need to write an " Adventures with BL"

LANI   Heard a fire story yesterday of a gentleman who sprinkled his home with Holy Water blessed by Pope John Paul II before he became a saint.  His house is still standing with others gone around him.

PHYL   Cozy homes in the woods  :)  Thanks for Amy's blog  Some nice video.

CLYNN   So funny with you trying to purge  LOL    Those photos of the unburned homes are miraculous.  They must smell like smoke inside tho.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JILLTOSA

Enjoy this fresh Strawberry Cake made with a homemade strawberry reduction. It's moist, tender, and the most beautiful shade of pink! It has layers of strawberry flavored cake with strawberry flavored cream cheese frosting, so you get fresh strawberry flavors with every bite. ;D
