Wow, a new section for 2025.

clynn - Congrats to Erin's team!  Jeff thinks if he watches the game he will jinx them.  ;D
Those ((firefighters))!

tsk - For some reason we were up at 4:05am this morning!  Christmas all down at Church?  Is the shoulder still feeling good?

Puff - Have you ever tried dry shampoo?  It's like a powder and there is some that comes in a foam, that you put on at the scalp/roots area.

Phyl - Thanks for the 365.  Love the snowy scene pics.

baz - Thanks for the links.

Lani - I hope you are laughing, and not crying from all of the repairs that need to be done.  I would be stressed to the max!

Wow, I also was lost when I popped in! We are in a totally new section!

Lisa, I remember using dry shampoo when I was a teenager! Yes, you and karen were both the early birds this morning!

oldguy, thanks for the bookmarks!

Lani, your Monday pooch doesn't look very happy! I got a home warranty policy in 2022 after I had a service call for a leaking water heater. They said they could fix it but could not guarantee it, so for $1795 they would install a new one. We chose the repair and have had no problem, still works fine. I found a good, reasonable policy and since then we haven't had an issue with anything!! You have had more than your share of troubles! Dang!

Phyl, love those felted dogs! That is the coziest little cabin in the woods! Another great 365!

baz, another year goes by... Thanks for the link to the local LA news station. I can't stop watching the fire news. Did you see the man who was reunited with his dog, he thought he had lost her.  https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=la+fires+man+reunited+with+dog+video&mid=83BF1041A75EDAF5E2BF83BF1041A75EDAF5E2BF&FORM=VIRE

tsk, I haven't worn knee socks for years, and I don't know why! For some reason I feel colder this winter, I have been wearing a tee shirt under my sweatshirt for the last few days!

Puff, take care....

me for Christmas . Glacier National Park, Montana looks awesome. - Congrats to Erin's team!

Baz--  how well I remember those California TV stations...KCBS, KNBC, KTLA and KTTV , etc.

It's a cold gorgeous moonlit night!
The coyotes are howling!

Good night!

Dear Lord, we ask for your continued protection for all in harm's way of the CA fires. Shield every person, every family, every child, animal and wildlife caught in the path of these flames. Guide them to safety and provide shelter for the displaced.

Please help the firefighters, emergency responders, and volunteers who risk their lives daily to combat the flames. Strengthen them with courage and endurance, and surround them with Your divine protection. May their efforts be fruitful, and may they find rest and peace amidst their labor. Amen

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, I wish you could record the coyotes howling, I would love to hear it! I can remember hearing them when we lived in AZ, Cathy and I were on a Girl Scout  camping trip! Kelsey pointed the full moon out to me Suday night, I was surprised that she did that! Where is Mike this week? I can't keep track! I think Ed is going to retire in April, but he is home all the time now so it won't be much different...

Phyl, I don't know why, but I have never been a sweat pants wearer! I wear sweatshirts, but most are not the regular ones. I have the somewhat thinner ones with patterns and such. I think I get too hot in regular sweats, but I think I may be changing. I was colder this week! It is 3 right now, the high is 11 today. And it looks like we got a dusting of white stuff last night! It's supposed to get to 39 Thursday and 45 on Friday!! Just saw your morning post, love the 365, love watching the cranes and hearing the sounds! Cute and very detailed owl family!

tsk, I hope you find us this morning! I just saw your email this morning!

Good Morning Beakers

tsk - Yay, you found us!! Glad to hear that you had some help with the take down, but yikes standing for 2 hours.  I too would have needed a nap and Aleve! I have not caught Polar Opposites yet.  I looked for it on Hallmark+ yesterday and it wasn't up there yet.  I just love every Hallmark that Rhiannon Fish has been in, and my favorite one My Norwegian Holiday.

clynn - Love you morning cuppa!  Congrats to Ed on his upcoming retirement.  Wow, the pic of the full moon at the State Capital. Gorgeous pic of Glacier National Park, Montana

Phyl - Thanks for the365, and love the owl family.

Lani - So cool that you get to hear coyotes howling.

The Lookout geologist explains the difference between "the fire is out" and percent containment.

He proclaimed the fire was out 2 days ago in describing the Palisades fire and the Eaton Fire.

He's correct. above is his describing the difference. Basically, containment lags reality and description of terms matter. He's a geologist and who informs the fire captains of reality to fire captains. Also in above talks the difference between good fires and bad fires...good fires are happening.

This was posted last night so doesn't describe the new Ventura fire that started last night.

The confusion on the major news channels in the last two days things like fires are still raging is wrong.
The firemen are holding the lines and no new eruptions/captures of land has occurred in 2 days.
Lastly, some of both the Palisades fire and Eaton fires were literally stopped/held by previous fires. That's why Topanga and Malibu in the hills didn't burn and why the Eaton Fire ended as well.

Hi Beakers!

Baz, thanks for posting an FYI on seeking info on the CA fires.

Phyl, love yesterday's morning post of the Felted dogs, so cute.... stunning nature video from Japan.

{{{Puff}}}

Lisa,

Clynn, Congratulations to Ed on his retirement! Not too many weeks left for him and then it's "Hello Thrift Shops and Flea Markets!"  ;D ... photo of Ram overlooking the Glacier National Park is gorgeous. ... I wear socks year round, mostly heavy duty tennis socks and in the winter they are thicker. I have never worn shoes in my house, unless guests are visiting. LOL! The girls are the same way. It's the Hawaiian in me. When the girls were babies, if I was barefooted they were too. I drove my MIL crazy! ... Mike left for Gila Bend today and will return late Weds... stunning photo of Iowa State Capitol... oh my, the dog reunited with its owner had me in tears.

Tsk, the Samsung French door frig is 6 years old with a 10 year warranty that does not cover the 2 computer panels (naturally, warranties never cover computer panels) Right now the ice/water dispenser flap door is opening/closing constantly 24/7. And has been since the 20th of December. I've turned off the electric power to it to see if that would reset the panel, did that 3 times, but no go... the wires to the dispenser cannot be dismantled, or it will effect something else... anyway, the parts are no longer available.... glad you had help removing the Christmas trees and your shoulder is better.

Tig, sorry about the Vikings... take care with the -8 temps.

karen, I have a full length sweatshirt robe too. I love it! I wear it year round.

Kb, Zeke Lunder does a great job reporting on wildfire, forestry, land management, and CA rural areas... InciWeb is also a great link for information on  https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/.  InciWeb is an interagency all-risk incident web information management system provided by the United States Forest Service. This is what we use for daily updates in fire season. As well as the Tonto National Forests and Arizona Road links.
