Cam ops followed HM as she flew in to the hatchery pines, see on rewind.  The raspy bird calls we hear now are male red-winged blackbirds, returned from migration.  The females follow soon.  Other than geese honking, I mean.  Cam ops also did a slow closeup of Father Goose feathering, about 9:30AM.

MG lines the nest and covers the eggs with her own downy feathers.  FG does not contribute any of his unless one just happens to fall out and MG can reach it.

The MG at N1 can uncover, roll, and cover the 6 eggs about as fast as I can type this note!

Wonder if the camera is turned on at N2B, where there is another pair of geese with 3 eggs (correct?)  That nest is all wood chips and overlooks the Pond in most views.

Pretty view of HM perching in a hatchery pine.  Do we have confirmation that HM and HD have eggs at their nest, which is out of camera range?

Lisa, looks like there may be a big clutch at N2B this year.  The male at N2B isn't as attentive as the male at N1, just sayin'.

FYI:  The Goose Camera is listed on the RRP chat live page under the Watch Birds dropdown at "Other Birds" but it is the same camera as we see on the regular Decorah Goose Cam.

The male goose at N2B has been seen under N2B in creek with the female, but like last year that male was not on the nest like the male at N1.

You are correct about the Decorah Goose Cam.  Maybe RRP has not set it up to go live yet for N2B, as the cam ops have been switching back and forth from nest to nest.

So far, the N2BMG has laid the same amount of eggs as last year.  Last year, two of her eggs rolled off the nest last year when she laid them, and then another goose came to nest and dumped one of theirs.

Lisa, thanks for update on the N2B goose nest numbers.  I recall that last year was pretty chaotic, and not sure if any of the eggs hatched there.  Hoping for some success this year.

The geese at N1 were disturbed by another goose flying by as FG perched near the nest about 7:00 this morning.  Then at about 9:00, a tree trimming truck parked close to the nest and MG covered the eggs before leaving briefly.  All 6 seem OK.  Eagle-wise, HM or HD has been perching in lower bluff tree about 10:00.

Yes, last year chaotic at N2B, but 3 of the 4 eggs hatched.  The dumped goose egg was like a week or so behind the others, so had figured that would be the one that didn't hatch.
