NEFL Eagles home of Gabby and Beau and 2 eggs...Prayers for our sweet Gabby💜

AEF NEFL EAGLES ⭐GABBY RETURNED LATE LAST NIGHT WITH INJURY ⭐PRAYERS FOR HER AND BEAU!https://youtu.be/hzXK9E5ueDs?feature=shared
Statement from AEF (American Eagle Foundation) : Good morning. At this time, we would like to address what we believe is the situation at the NEFL nest. There have been sightings over the last few days, of 1 or 2 other eagles close to the nest territory. We believe that there is indeed a possibility that Gabrielle has been engaging with at least one of them, maybe a female. We cannot confirm what exactly is happening but now, after seeing a possible injury/blood near Gabrielle’s right eye & frontal area above the cere, this could be from a territorial confrontation with this rogue eagle.
Please know that if any further information comes forward, we will be posting it. We understand everyone’s concern. You are not alone. Thank you. From the NEFL Team.

Good Morning Beakers!  Merry Christmas to all!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

It is not Kopje.
A friend of ours from Colorado sent us a pic of his Bluey playing in snow.
This dogs name is Doofus.   :)   ;D

Kopje and Doofus have not yet had the pleasure of frolicking together, but we're working on fixing that this year.

LOL, what a name!...hope in the future they have an opportunity to meet, oh and of course take pics if they do meet.

BTW we seriously looked at getting one when we were ready after our Walter passed. After doing much research we rightfully decided not to based on their energy needs...
Ollie man has been enough! ;) ;)

kb Yes Australian Cattle Dogs are definitely NOT "low energy" poochies.
Kopje is 5 years old now so that has taken some of the 'edge' off of him _ but not by much.  ;)

They don't like to just hang out around the house unless of course there is something cooking in the house like today.  LOL

Kopje is almost always outside in a large fenced in area (with shelter) in all sorts of not fit for man or beast type weather conditions hanging out with his other critter buddies doing up tiring critter stuff .. well tiring for them  ;) .. not him.   ::)

We can usually get him to come inside the house at dusk for his dinner _ unless the llamas are uneasy for some reason _ his bestie critter buds _ then he will absolutely refuse to come in until Pip or I recon the entire area and assure him all is well.  :)

3 times now since he has had us there was a slight anomaly with the fencing that we easily rectified _ Kopje look it's all good now _ thoroughly inspected by he _ okay inside for chow time now. GOOD BOY. GOOD BOY.

Did you and you and Chris have a white X-Mas there ?

_ According to the NWS officially defined as 1" of snow or more on the ground at 7 am on 12/25 _

NYC Central park just made it this am with 1" on the ground, last time was 2019 - 15 years ago.

We've got about 2-3" of snow on the ground here in North NJ so I guess we "qualified".   8)

Now wait .. Karen after taking a double take of Piper's attire in her gorgeous X-Mas photo.   8)

I assumed Piper was a McDonald's eating male dog.  My bad, I'm so not up on these type of things.
I'll get caught up on the 21st century eventually.  LOL.

Quote from: Google
Interestingly, the name Piper is unisex, making it a versatile choice for both male and female pets.
It's a name that conveys grace and agility, often embodying the light-hearted spirit that many pet owners seek for their companions.

Miss Piper you rock it you GA girl.   :-*

BL - love your story of Kopje and your critters....yes, we do not imho have the land for a cattle dog..
What were we thinking?....LOL

We do have snow on my ground anyway and more than 1 inch. We got 6-7 inches a few days ago that has to some degree collapsed and melted somewhat.
I still have pretty huge piles of snow at the end of my driveway: driveway shoveled snow etc.

We have rain in the forecast Thursday night into all day Friday...will be interesting to see how my gutters do with that and my piles...we shall see as they say.

I can't complain though as we have had somewhat of a snow drought so far to date. But, much colder temps than average as well.

Luckily my now 9 1/2 year old Ollie can be a comfortable couch potato on days that are too cold to go outside. I'm guessing this happened for him around 8-9 yrs old. He always had very high energy till then.

Remembering my big dog Walter who lived to be 16 1/2, he too was high energy until about 10 or so, esp after both back knees needed ACL repair.

To me that's always a mature and nice marker in age (9-10), but also signals that the end could be anytime. :(
