The Davenport Alcoa nest was using transmitters during the same time as Decorah - but they used the version that used cell phone communication instead of satellites.  This worked out for them, because all of their eagles stayed south of Lake Superior and many did not go north of the nest - south only.  So cell phone service was sufficient for data.

Merry Christmas to us :D :D

My garbage disposal is leaking from the bottom...done all the usual: tighten with allen wrench etc.. It's just old with probably old seals. And, of course as typical around this house: things always happen on weekends and holidays.

I can use the bathroom sink: connected and the right sink of kitchen if not too much water....

Hopefully my plumber, Jack, will be back at work on Thursday...I doubt it somehow...if he can come this week I'll also have him add a new faucet same sink.

Blaah....I'm dealing with it okay it's just been an hour or so trouble shooting and wiping up leaking water under sink from when I was washing dishes/using disposal.

Merry Christmas all ::) ::) :P :P :) :)

oldguy - Recipe for the ham in slow cooker, please?
[

Not much of a recipe - I use Amana Bone-In half Ham and cook in a small roaster-oven at 200 degrees for 12-15 hours - 1 cup of water in bottom and cook covered, making sure that the water does not boil.  It is done when you can pull the bone out.  I cut it with an electric carving knife about 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick slabs.
I have tried using rubs/sauces/ etc and the natural favor is better than any thing that I have added.  Nutrition info states that it has 880mg of sodium for a 3 oz serving - which is about average for the several brands that are available here.  This is a cooked ham product and needs to be refrigerated as opposed to the dry cured hams popular in the SE US.

Our local Hy-Vee grocery carries this brand for the holidays  - this season it was selling at 3.99/lb.

Here is the Amana Smokehouse web site...

Hello Beakers - Merry Christmas to All

It looks like Kilauea can not decide if it wants to be active or not - started erupting again around 10:26 am HST  One of the oddities of this eruption is that there are almost no earthquakes on the island over the past 2 days.

Good Morning Beakers.....Merry Christmas!!!

oldguy - Thanks for the videos.  Thank you for your recipe.  I have a spiral bone in ham for today, and every place I have read that if you do it in crock pot it may dry out.  Yikes!

Lani - We baked sugar cookies yesterday.  Hope you and Mike had a nice day, too!

kb - Thanks for the videos, too.  I love those kinds of commercials.

baz - LOL, The Stray Cats!  I loved that group!  Hope your headache is gone.

Phyl - Loved the lil trees from yesterday.

tsk, Puff, karen, tig and all - Morning  :)

Christmas Morning

Edwin Waugh

Come all you weary wanderers beneath the wintry sky.
This day forget your worldly cares and lay your sorrows by.
Awake and sing! The church bells ring! For this is Christmas morning.

We’ll tie the fresh green holly wreath, and make the yule log glow.
And gather gaily underneath the winking mistletoe.
All blithe and bright, by glad fire-light for this is Christmas morning.

To all poor souls we spread the feast with kindly heart and free
One Father loves us, and at least, today we’ll brothers be
Away with pride, this holy tide for it is Christmas morning.

So now God bless us one and all, with hearts and hearthstones warm
And may He prosper great and small and keep us out of harm
And teach us still to show good will this merry Christmas morning.

Good Morning  and Merry Christmas Beakers !

From Jim and Phyllis.
