just close out the sign in page.

My city peeps have been trying to capture a domesticated pheasant for days now. This am it got itself in the beams of our public works building. Look at how pretty they are.

It is now being transferred to the Wildlife Rehab Center in Roseville MN

We (my city) have a prior owner who raised them. Lost many in town, some eaten by coyote, and the rest left wandering. He now is in Las Vegas. .....ugg, don't get me started.

BTW a person from my city posted a video of a guy in a clown costume? and helmet looking thingy walking.

He's not in the same mask I saw yesterday...but, the guy above is scaring people once again.

Howdy Beakers!  :)

I'm late, but here.  ;) It got to 72 degrees here today - and I went for a 25 minute walk in the neighborhood - not very far since I was walking slower than usual, and paying attention.  I didn't wrap my knee today (probably should have, but it worked out ok), and didn't need a cane, but I did take a regular strength ibuprofen before setting out - good decision.  Nice day! And glad to be able to get out for a walk! Will be even more unusually warm here the next 2 days before some rain and a cool down, and then much colder Christmas week. We need the rain badly - in moderate drought, and hoping it won't get to the severe drought level, though some places not too far from me are already in the severe drought range. Ugh, as is so much of the country.

Zippo continues to do well - only 3 more day of meds, twice a day. She doesn't fight it so much anymore, like she did at first, but I know she will be glad to be through with it soon!  :) :-*

Lani, thanks for the Bear Center update. Lucky  :-*  Aww, sweet close-up pic of that squirrel.  :-*  Yay Chiefs!!  :D

TSK, that's great news about Tim doing so well, and hopefully will get to ditch the insulin injections soon! Fingers crossed! You did a lot of work getting those bins filled at church. I'm glad you had a little bit more help. That's awful that some people took tags for giving, but didn't bring the promised items. I would be tempted to let them know that an extra shopping trip had to be made to purchase the items that those people didn't deliver on.

KB, fun throwback pics of Lollie, and a nice remembrance pic of Scott. Glad that pheasant was safely rescued.

Puff, glad you have 2 of your nearest and dearest around that you can call upon for some help here and there while you mend.  :)

Lisa, I love the pic of the kitties that Jeff posted!  :D :-*

Phyl, did you get thunderstorms today? It looked like there was a line of storms on radar crossing that area today. I hope it was helpful rain, and not anything severe.

BL, enjoy making tracks in Vermont! I saw a lot of white stuff there on the weather news.

Tig, was that a pic of your mug of "Yummy" after your pool time?  Mmm... tasty!

Oldguy, ugh on the work of clearing that ice - glad you could get it done though. Thanks for the tunes!  :)

Karen, what a sweet pic of newly mostly dried fluffball, E24.  :-* Your team won - yay!

Clynn, I love those "before" and "now" pics of Sam and Soph!  :-* :-*  Lucky and the chipmunk!  :-* :-*  It sounds like a great time was had by all at your house last night! I bet it made for a good day for everyone to sleep in - especially you!  :D  I was going to post this for me today, but you deserve it more!
  ;) ;D

OMG, this is what I came to The Beak to post tonight - and I almost forgot!!  ::) ;) :D

YAYAYAYAY!! The Bald Eagle is finally the country's official national bird !! I saw a great piece on TV today about the giant effort, that completed today!! Yay!!  Here's one article about it - but there are many more, and there are some links in this one to some related good info, for instance from the National Eagle Center, related to the effort:

I had to watch this 3 times. Cutest thing ever!

SKOL Vikings!   27 to 12 with 2 minutes to go so...I'm giving up for the night.

Baz - great pic of cousins and yes nice they get together.

1/2 of mine were 2,000 miles away and grateful we did get together....as we now are old it's near impossible to do that anymore.

Kb, Love nostalgia, enjoyed listening to Andy Williams... had the Traditional Christmas channel on today.  :)

Tsk, This change of events for Aly that she was informed of last week. Let me review, In the States, there are typically two levels of licensure for mental health professionals: associate/apprentice or provisional licensure, and full licensure. Aly will be 4 months shy of a fully licensed therapist in June, when Oregon's new medicare requirements goes into effect. Because Oregon's Non-Profit Therapy Groups are complaining not enough Associate/Apprentice mental health workers will work for them. Oregon has made a change, in that all associate/apprentice or provisional licensure will no longer be allowed to accept medicare patients. They have to give up their medicare patients and work for a non-profit mental health center (like Payson's Community Bridges) So, In June Aly has to give up her patients, her new office and find a job with a non-profit which will not provide her with the needed funds to continue to live in her apartment. She has to work to find new options for the new year. It's a confusing situation, she's very unhappy about this turn of events with Oregon. How does she keep the years of hours she has accumulated, find a non profit to accept her for only 4 months or find something longer with a non-profit. Will she have to return home because she won't be making enough to afford to rent an apartment. She's very upset about having to give up her clients. Again, it's very confusing. I barely understand half of what is happening. But, it's a change she has to prepare for and she doesn't want to leave her in-person only clients for the holidays now.

Phyl, adorable Christmas elves.... what a precarious place to start combating.

Clynn, oh my Sam & Sophie have grown, beautiful color..... Love Black Bear Lucky and chipmunk.

Lisa, yes, Aly was excited... I had to get their gifts in the mail.  :( .... the FB pics look like Bandit and Missy. They looking for a home?

Kb, funny two identical cats story  ;D ... ugh, that masked guy again.  :(

Tig, nice morning with Camper, topped of with a yummy!

Baz, great pic of the greats!  ;D Congratulations for the American Bald Eagle!

Congrats Viking!

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, that is a very complicated situation that Aly is in and how unfair that she has to give up what she has worked so hard to build. Are the laws in AZ better than the new ones in OR? Thanks for the Bear report! Sweet kitty sleeping in the stocking...

baz, it's about time the Bald Eagle is OFFICIALLY the US Bird! I thought it already was!  Great pic of the cousins at the pool, they are all growing so fast, that is going to be a tall buy! Glad to hear you are walking more, after Christmas I have to get back to picking what indoor walking pad I want to get! I bet Zippo will be so glad to be done with the meds! Do you get her a special treat for Christmas? My cats are getting the automatic litter box (more for me than for them...   ;D). And some new toys and treats!  I love the jingle saying, I am going to remember that one!

tsk, I wonder how the Ozempic works for those who don't need to lose weight, it seems like most people with diabetes tend to be at least a bit overweight. At least on the commercials on tv!

Lisa, wow, those kitties look like Bandit and Misty for sure! I checked for you, Ozempic is not a DPP4 inhibitor, it is a semaglutide.

Pictures from Sunday night!

KB   At least this pheasant is safe. ::)   Baby and kitten vid  Sweet  ;D

KAREN   Yup.  finished my Hallmark movie and started a Fr Brown  LOLOL  Right, Packers have always been a "go to team"

BAZI   There are a lot of things I would like to say in setting up a project but know it won't make any difference.  Yesterday when all was said and done, someone brought in a baby bathtub, baby nail clippers, and a 3 pack of onsies.  Of course the stop date for bringing items in was Sunday at 11 AM   ::) ::) ::)  It will always be that way.  I just lower my expectations...  You are right about the first cousins getting to know each other living so far apart.  I was never close to my first cousins.   Thanks for the announcement on a symbol we unoffically have adopted for eons  LOLOL

LANI   What a terrible unanticipated disaster for Aly!!   To give up her clients would be the hardest thing and am sure they , the clients, won't like it either.  Will say prayers that somehow some good will come out of it all.  :-* :-*

CLYNN  Love that simple wood tree.  Would be easy to make if you were in a wooded area that provided those straight pieces. Kelsey is so cute  LOLOL  What was the second present she was so excited about?   Looks like Christmas at my childhood home - Presents everywhere!!

Lisa  the FB pics look like Bandit and Misty. Hope the pair find a good forever home.

Kb   cute identical cats story  ...  that masked guy again. IMHO  the man has some issues. Find out where he lives, get a photo of him in those
masks and call the police.

Baz   Tks for snaps of the 'greats'...Yes. We got some heavy rain. I had a manicure appt yesterday  afternoon and since I only had a hooded jacket my leggings got soaked. Got home and the humidity made a slow dry of my nails and  changing  from wet clothes to day sweats was  a real challenge .
Glad Zippo is still improving.

Good Morning Beakers

tsk - What Hallmark movie did you have recorded?  I have liked some of the new ones they have been showing.

baz - Wow, you had some nice warm temps.  Glad to hear that you got a walk in, and hope your knee is feeling much better.  Good news about Zippo!  Great pic of the lil Greats!

kb - OMG, the babies and kitties, adorable!

Lani - Yikes, that does sound all so confusing for Aly.  I am sure her patients will hate to give her up too!  Yes, those two senior kitties are looking for a home.  They are at the Chesapeake Cats and Dog Rescue, which Jeff follows on FB.  The post said, their owner is now in assisted living and could not take them.   :(

clynn - Thanks for checking out to see if Ozempic was a DPP4, good to know it isn't.  Looks like everyone LOVED their Christmas presents!

karen - Congrats to SWFL on E25!

Phyl - I hope so too!
