Good Morning Beakers!

tsk, I hate it when they change things like that, I never know what to do. Erin!!! Help your Mom!!  Windows 11 came out in Oct 2021. I think I got in on the first Windows 11 with my PC because that is about when I got it. I wish I had gone to Apple. My Dad's laptop is Windows Vista (released Jan 2007), Mom can still use it for email and all, it's just not tech supported any more.

Lani, I think that Lab looks VERY guilty! Kelsey is still excited over her new hoodies! Mom always gives me $$ to get something for Kelsey, I got her a hoodie with a Siamese Cat on it, I think she will love it!

Phyl, I remember Cathy and I pouring through the JC Penney's Christmas Catalog and marking everything we wanted! Same with the Sears Christmas catalog! Found this article: https://www.irememberjfk.com/when-big-catalogs-came-in-the-mail/

baz, just be kind to your knee! Did you ever remember the important thing you were going to post about last evening?  I have the same issue at times!   So glad for Zippo, wouldn't it be fun if she would sit on your shoulder and go on your walk with you!  I am picturing that!

Phyl, bell bottoms and ironed hair... early 70's. I remember!  Don't forget the Granny Square vests and the suede jackets with fringe. I loved my Famolare sandals in the late 70's!

karen, thanks for the pic of the SWFL babies!

OK   for all you Windows users who have gotten the notice that  10 will no longer be supported next year...Do we need to get new computers? or see if currect computer will support 11?   OLDGUY Do you have advice on this??[/size]

TSK   You have until October of 2025 to upgrade to Windows 11.  Your PC will still  work with Win 10, just not get any updates for OS and security after the afore mentioned date.  First...You'll need to do a' PC Health at a glance' to see if your PC is compatible with Win 11.
If not ( as  is the case with my PC ) it will list things you can do  to get your PC ready for the upgrade to the new OS. You might need to upgrade your processor and etc.
be sure to check out the link below

First a reminder - Doing all this one handed!  4 weeks minimum.  Hope to have it done by lunchtime.   ???

Sports in IL - Forget about it.  No team or reason to watch.  Sox, Bulls, Hawks going nowhere.  What they have to do is concentrate less on new/improved facilities - start building teams to be worth any outlays.  Fools.

Having trouble since November with buzz on phone service.  Fourth appt yesterday.   Various glitches, mostly buzz.  Again tech said it's mice digging to eat on wires.  They seem to favor main junction boxes.  (Time to treat metal and/or wire with mouse repellant killer?)  Yesterday rep said unannounced plans are advancing to switch all landlines over to wireless, computerized services.  Warned it's only years away.

Then there's the W/11 issue - with a reminder.  Last year I gave my computer, W10 updated, its Saturday night bath.  My computer tech said - nope, you need a new machine and get a new 11.  Truth be told - Old dog / New Tricks is my bane since then.  New in Sept/Oct 2023.  Most irritating issue is scanning.  With my travel work scanning took over emailing info back and forth.  I even had a quick connect with my Print/Scan option on HP Multi printer.  Took seconds.  Had 3 "aid" instructors.  My go-to answer currently is a trip to local UPS $2 a file outlet.  Any pro out there - I'll pay transportation cost for an on-site tutor.  I mean it, free air ticket included.  Too much to go into here.  Never say die.  I do recognize the need for increased safety nowadays.  I do have $$$ client sums to deal with, worry about - but really!

Just venting - House bound - Pain

Breakfast & meds - Over and out

bounce

The water dept. tech. was very nice yesterday. He was able to run a new wire where the old one from years ago was. And he mounted the new register sideways to be less obtrusive on our newer siding.

We go to pick up our tree today. I'll be decorating it tomorrow while watching the snow fall.  8)

Now under a winter storm warning....
https://www.wunderground.com/severe/us/mn/minneapolis/55474

Have been preparing.

sis came today bearing Christmas gifts.....the one's for Ollie are so dang cute:

A battery powered fish that moves really caught his attention, an indestructible pull toy and others......
So fun. Besides his walk with me this am he's now a pooped out pup.
Loves when company comes....any company. Including handymen etc. Kisses galore!

5-7 inches will test me this year as have not had that kind of snow yet.

Chow.
