Thanks for the total Scoop on Cozy Burgers Lani.  Small enterprise that turned big, then went back/stayed back to small.  Tiny grill is the game changer?  Same slogan as White Castle ???  Can that be OK?

Makes me want to take a ride to KA.  BUT - Reminded me an IL/CO drive in my brothers yellow Buick - I have never ever again ever been in the beetle invasion they have.  Not even sure what kind of bug it was - but they coated everything.  The gas/potty stop was so disgustingly crunchy and slimy  Uggggggggh memory to this day.  Windshield impossible - and that was before auto window washing.   Used an ice scraper at many road stops.  Plus - it was summer hot Kansas dry, hot but we couldn't open the windows.

Obviously trip made a lasting memory.

P

Obviously Puff! ROFL!!  ;D ;D ;D

Phyl, I didn't notice that the list of states with Native American names stopped at 14! I searched and searched but couldn't find the rest of that list.  However, I found the full list and you are absolutely right about Tennessee and California and there are 9 others!  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_place_names_of_Native_American_origin_in_the_United_States

Good Morning Lani!

Another beautiful 365, love the sounds of the ocean and the birds...  Love your morning pictures, there are so many beautiful Autumn pictures out there!  And what pretty cakes! I would hate to cut into either of them!

tsk, 98% is good! So when are you going to put the new tree up? Always the weekend after Thanksgiving for us but I may do it a few days before this year so it can be up when the kids are here at Thanksgiving. I stored it in the garage after last year, instead of downstairs in the basement so it will be easier to get out!

71 with 73% humidity levels today!  Lisa, humidity seems to drop as the day goes on!   Take it easy and keep saying, Supervise!

Beautiful fall wreath!   Sparkling and colorful fruit!    Glad Tim is about  100%!   He will get there!   He has great help !   Love the sound of your tree!    I donated my large, prelit tree to a charity sale years  ago as it was too heavy  for me to move in and out!   I have two small trees, one 2 -3 feet tall that I put. Out on the front  porch . Was pre lit with white lights which stopped working and fuses did not fix the problem . Last year I replaced them with colored lights and I love this old fashioned look!   I have a lot of Christmas  glass fruit ornaments  that I put out in bowls.
Really too hot to  think about it!
Baz, a very good Samaritan!
LANi , I am happy to hear that Shannon is settled if even just temporarily. She can get to know the town better and find out where she really wants to settle. In the meantime she and the puppy have a home does she have friends in Vegas who can help her learn about the different areas of town or will she wait to settle in until she finds permanent employment and then try to move closer to the job Nice of Mike to gift the FF miles . I have given many of my miles to Mickey when she has come here I really don’t have any use for them at this time.
Wonderful news about  Helgate and the  owl pole!   Interesting pictures  of old nests.
Doing all my bedding today and waiting for the help to arrive!    My house suddenly seems dirty and Piper cannot tell me why!
Phyl,  lovers heat or heart?

Interesting about state names!  I believe Chicago is from a will d onion that grew in the area.

Super acrid smoke from the forest floor leaves and twigs and now helicoptered in water.

Cold Air.

Jennings Creek Fire NY/NJ border.

One life too many was lost.

The duff and roots below are smoldering like a cigar.
Until some sort of appreciable precipitation falls.

This is one place that is very close to and very special to my heart.

I kissed my very 1st Black Bear by Bow in one of those boxes.

We handed out fire fighter necessity's this am well before 0 dark

Kopje was trying to board every fire apparatus. He knows.

I ran into some grizzled older NJ "tanned necks".

We got this bitch by the boo boo was the refrain.

Google screen just told me at signin that today is "remember the kayak" day.  Another fun memory. . .

I mentioned before about our instructional "fam" trips as training/knowledge for travel advisors (familiarization).  Had to travel through Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island (PEI), St. John.

The itinerary included "kayaking on the Atlantic".  Say what??  That's what it said, that's what we did.  Thanks be to God the water was calm and kayak was steady - I was neither.  Brought back to "commune" fresh crabs that were cooked on a veranda in a huge tub.  Buttery juice smelling up the entire area and running down our arms.  Tales of the land told by resident free-spirits.

I always remember a couple things:  Kayak tipping me out into the cool waters, scratching a memento into my ankle; the Bay of Fundy; fam group met to watch the procession etc. in England of the services for Princess Diana.  Observing that with British subjects was quite emotional and enlightening.

tsk That fam would take up an entire chapter in the book you always mention.   ::)

Good Morning Beakers!

Puff, you and your memories remind me of my Mom... She is trying to write a journal of our family's life while she can still remember. And she has a memory like an elephant, still! All of us girls were born in NM, we lived in Germany and England, Arizona, Minnesota and Dad spent a year in Viet Nam while we all stayed in Illinois.  Lots of trips from the Southwest to Illinois in the summers. We settled in Illinois after he retired.  Get busy with that book!

Lani, awww, that sweet puppy fell asleep reading his book...

BL, prayers for Jennings Creek and other places that are special you and Pip and Kopje. Prayers for the firefighters, hope they can get the job done quickly.

baz, you must have dropped your swiffer in that pic!  I have chased a cat with a swiffer, but the cat kind of liked it!

Lisa, hope things are going well, I know you are eating well!

tsk, so did you go ahead and get the ornaments out now that the tree is up?
