BL  Stay safe.   Jennings Creek  Sad times  :'(

PUFF  You were at the funeral procession of Princess Diana?  You have had some amazing experiences and the memories to go along with them.  Thanks for sharing.   Yes and your book title should be " Diary of a Travel Advisor"  LOL

CLYNN  took the better part of the afternoon to put the tree together and spread apart every single piece of the tiny branches attached to  the main branches.   Shouldn't have to do that again to that extent.  It will just sit in place until I decorate.

PHYL   Tree is up but not decorated  ;) ;) ;)

Not really Tsk - Attended the ceremony virtually on a telly in the dance parlor of a B&B castle in Canada.  Yes a B&B Castle.  Darn memory, I wish I could remember the name of the castle.

What I remember of the castle . . .Road zigzagged up a hill, turrets, beautiful grounds, and a room that was at the end of a maze of a journey thru halls, up stairs, and around the bend, into a suite of a room; needed a guide.  Humungass four-poster bed, draped in white sheer - impossibly high for me to get into.  And this was when I was still 5'3".  Steps were brought in for me.  Slept like a princess that night.

And, not that the US doesn't have B&B's like the rest of the world, but it's an art form up in Canada.  There is an unwritten/mandatory contest between them.  Both the environs and the food service.  Roomy and so well put together.  I'd like to say I've seen better, but the area is not to be less than the best.  And, the Canadians know it and are proud of their offerings.  Of note to me, because I make and gift mine, is the display and use of afghans.

P

Got a whole lot of inside knowledge, names, and information.  It's my job - and my joy.

Puff - Went to a Kiwanis chili supper fundraiser this week.  Sat a table with a retired couple and their son and DIL.  They had just returned from a long voyage.  It was on a Viking line ship that started at Duluth, continued to the Panama canal, then down to Chile, back up the coast to California where they got off at San Diego.  The ship continued to the arctic circle.  They said that the ship held about 300 passengers and that 9 couples did the entire trip.  It was a nature educational theme trip with many shore stops to experience/see the different nature present.
SE Iowa - Grew up within 40 miles of Decorah

They're called expedition cruises.  Usually extended, and therefore weeks = $$.  Just as a sample Viking does the top to bottom of Mississippi river, 2 weeks, $6,000.  Can either do northern half or southern half for 1/2 the cost, one week.  Just added to my bucket is their 28-day Alaska (Anchorage - North to Barrow) Makes port in 24 ports; on shore stops are points of action and interest.  I can dream can't I?

The two companies who started the recent boom ideas of extended expeditions are Atlas and Viking; traveling to the Arctic and the Antarctic in newly built designated explorer craft (I think of floating labs).
Great reports from psgrs!  Then there's also the Natl Geographic and HX ships.  Started years back.  Needed the spur of competition to up their product and ships.

Now there's more competition for expeditions in Asia, So. America, the Pacific, and Europe.

Clynn, Interesting  Wikipedia list of states with Native American names, followed by cities... Here in Arizona, we're surrounded by native american names.... beautiful fall in Lansing, Iowa... Love the old Bonnie and Clyde car in the fall pic.

Tsk, happy to hear Tim is at 98% and back to daily routine.... our tree is up, but not decorated.

Phyl, thanks for nature video...

Puff, you have fun memories.  and you should write a book, I like Tsk's suggestion for your book.

Kb, glad you got fixed the flies situation.

Karen, Shannon lived there in the late 90's, and has friends there in the casino business. She will work on getting a Nevada real estate license too. Her dog Kona is catching up on her sleep. These past few days have been stressful for the old girl.... Here's a video of SWFL nest a day ago

Good Morning Beakers!  Caturday!

Lani, oh those darn owls at SWFL! I wish they could do something to entice them to move somewhere else! How nice for Shannon that she has friends in Las Vegas! Hope she can get her Real Estate license quickly Awww, big change for Kona...  Sweet puppy!

baz, hope you got a good rest last night!

oldguy, I didn't know there were cruises that covered all that ground! I would love even a short one on the Columbia river!

tsk, I don't know if I could stay on a ship for a 4 month trip!  Wow! Your tree is probably very pretty with just the lights on. I have even had thoughts of just leaving mine with lights, but for the last couple of years I have decorated with red apples and bows only, and I love the look of it!

Phyl, Angkor Wat is amazing, would love to see the inside! Video from FB for you:  https://www.facebook.com/reel/1247385759739740

Raptor Resource Project - Did you see? The North Nest looks so cozy that I want to take a nap just looking at it! Eagles use the materials on hand - on wing? - for nest construction, but I'm glad this Nest Depot is well stocked with corn husks!

News from the Nest November 16: early morning eagles were seen at Goat Island. Then no reports until at 3:40 one arrived at Mangrove Island, Shortly after it caught a small fish, then back to the island to eat. At 5pm, just one still seen there. SE33 is resting and recovering – gaining strength.

‘A Cat‘.

By Edward Thomas

She had a name among the children;
But no one loved though someone owned
Her, locked her out of doors at bedtime
And had her kittens duly drowned.

In Spring, nevertheless, this cat
Ate blackbirds, thrushes, nightingales,
And birds of bright voice and plume and flight,
As well as scraps from neighbours’ pails …
