Lani, thanks!  :)  Great report, and I love these pics! It looks like Antali is taking after his dad, Finn, with those light chest feathers! I haven't said this here before, but I have the belief that Iris laid her 2nd egg very soon after copulating with Finn (which hatched to be Sum-eh),and after Finn got rid of her 1st egg this year, which Finn knew couldn't be from him, and I believe that Sum-eh is actually hatched from an egg fertilized by Louis, not Finn, though Finn doesn't know it, and there's no proof. (As we know, Osprey have the ability to store sperm for many days before it may fertilize an egg.) And I think that's why the longer-than-usual number of days between that egg being laid, and Iris's 3rd egg being laid this year, which hatched to be Antali, of course. What a great Osprey year it has been at the Hellgate nest this year!  :-* :-* :-*

Baz, Regarding Sum-eh I've had the same thoughts. The 2nd egg was two days after the first one that Finn kicked out. I felt it was Louis's too... there is 5 days between 2nd and 3rd (Antali)

8/27 Sum-eh is 76 days old and Antali is 71 days old.
Sum-eh fledged on Aug. 5th and has been flying for 22 days.
Antali fledged on Aug. 14th and has been flying for 13 days.

KB/TIG   Looks like it really got rough for you both.

TIG  Would that storm have affected the fair??  Gosh this could have happened while you were gone!! :o :o

PHYL   Actually Lulu stayed away from Tim for two days - hospital smell??  cane/walker?  She's back to normal now with him  LOL  Tuesday's Tranquility  :)    Thanks for posting Amy's blog - Now I have a much better understanding of how that "basket" was made. I"m not sure that is how they built the one at N2?   Also thanks for the additional Nat'l Parks  Had always thought Indiana Dunes was a State park..    365  Now we see the bison

KB  Is Chris back to PT or has he been doing it all along?

LANI   Thanks for the albie update  ;D  Handsome boys is right.

tsk - Aww, poor Lulu was confused by hospital smell or cane/walker?  I am glad she is back to herself with Tim.

Lani - I think you and baz are on to something with the Hellgate kids!

kb - Oh boy, hope they save the trees!

Lani - Thanks for the Royal update.

tsk - he's been up and running with PT for the summer....his therapist after next week's PT is going to Peru for vaca.....she hasn't scheduled him for any more after yet.

So, not sure, but next week might be it....her schedule is now truncated so he's only been going once a week or every 2 weeks. I'm grateful for that but I'm concerned she's on her way out....she's the only hip specialist we would go to or are referred to at this clinic.

Lisa - me too. My house would not be saleable at the normal price without them. I bought this house with them as they provide cover from viewing the parking lot across the street. I wouldn't have bought my house without them. They sure have taken a beating the last few years.

The supervisor knocked on my door after I spoke nicely to the worker bee. It started out bad. He stated they had the right of way bla bla bla. That set me off. By the end we were on good terms. Spoke personally about what a bad decision the city made to put gas lines in our boulevards making all the internet fiber companies drill way into peoples yards...He agreed and we were very friendly by the end. I suggested to him he not start out his conversation with me that he was here to discuss my complaint. It absolutely was not and the worker bee agreed. Covering their ashes I guess. Not a good way to start but ended well.

At the end of the day, if they die, I know they won't do a darn thing. And, i will be on the hook.

Crossing my fingers.

All so we can all have the latest and greatest ya know!

The Towers don't show up anymore cause of the humans on their perch.

As environmentalists say walking and appreciating nature is a connection with the Divine....resonates with me profoundly. Stop killing trees for the latest and greatest please.

Lisa - I don't think the State Fair was okay last night ;)...view above the flooding.

Was closed this morning also...I haven't followed when or if it opened later today?

I was a might bit confused and turned around for 10 days but I ain't never been really lost.

In order to get truly lost entails not being anywhere, I haven't been able to re-create that.

If your somewhere then you just don't know where you are at the present time.

Solid if you trust me.

With that Anker power brick U now got.

Past 15 years both Brands never played badly or let us puzzle down.  ;)

Our power goes out like people that keep hitting the free ranging telephone poles

BL, LOLOLOL on free-range telephone poles!!  I confess... Once, about 42 years ago, one of them suddenly jumped out from the grassy edge by the road, right in front of my right front wheel, and I managed to swerve just in the nick of time, so that I avoided a head-on collision, but did suffer a glancing blow that left only a slight abrasion on the otherwise unhurt telephone pole, and my car was the recipient of long, thin shards of splintered wood that shoved right in through the hinged-but-closed front edge of the passenger front door panel, and a few short ones lodged into my right front tire, which made for a weirdly uneven bumpy roll. I was able to pull over and mostly dislodge them enough to continue on to my morning commute to my appointed desk at work that morning!! That only happened once! As a result, I am now as alert and wary of free-range telephone poles as I am of deer in the roadside treeline at dusk and dawn.  And... I grew up riding in the back seat along my father's regular weekend and vacation road trips - long day trips, overnights, or extended getaways... He liked to take the road less traveled (and I imprinted on him, LOL). My mother famously would be overheard in the front passenger seat saying, "Bill, stop and ask for directions." After about the 3rd time she would say that, my father's reply, always, was, "I'm not lost. I just don't know where I am."  ;D ;D ;D  I loved my trips with my father, and not knowing where we were while we weren't lost. God, I miss that man.  :-*

Yup, the fair partially opened at 9.
I picked up the remaining pieces of my picket fence so it won't get damaged when they remove the huge branch. I picked up the small branches from various trees around the yard. The other neighbor across the street agreed to rake debris from our driveway. Nice of him.
Yes, the latest update for us is noon Thursday. We won't be here. !
My brother doesn't have any room for our food. SIL's mom fell and broke her femur near where it broke 6 months ago. So she is on her way out of town to be with her. And my brother is taking personal items from the small bldg. where they perform each Fall as the property owners are having some big festival and need to use the space. Good news is he needs to store the stuff in our garage so he can help us do the manual unlock. Maybe we take him to dinner if someplace is open.?

Sigh. Sorry KB...

Was that 99 an ORD reading or your local temp.  My town had 100 listed around 1PM.  Chgo previous official record was 97.  Haven't been on any news yet to see what they're quoting and where.

I went out at 8A to get water to birds and plants.  Also feed for birds.  It was absolutely horrid when I finished up at 10A.  I haven't even gone back out to get today's mail.  My weather site is quoting 85 for tomorrow.  I need to get that, too.  Have some "kids" doing some weeding for me.  They were saying they could come today.  That was before the temp soared.  Also rescheduled landscaping work til tomorrow; delayed from last week for trimming trees, bushes, and cutting lawn.  Again, for both I told them to come early and I wouldn't mind.  I suggested Thursday but neither group could make it.

Well - let's see what we have in store for tonight.  The warnings keep being posted.
