Off topic:

I highly recommend the tv series "Masters of the Air"...WW11 documentary about the real men of the 100th Bombartment.....oh it's so good. Real life aviators. Think we watched it on Apple TV but if you get a chance it's so well done....includes the Tuskegee airmen as well and of the main peeps that made it all but one lived into there 80's to 90's.

Kb, I'll tell Mike, he'll want to watch it.

Royal Albatross ~ LGL & WYL Come Home To Feed Their Chicks! 💗 Sweet Neighborly Interactions 3.14.24

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4Q92vrolPA

Mar 15, 2024
This was a very interesting interaction by WYL and LGL when they came in to feed their chicks! First WYL arrives and he feeds TFT and sits and rests a while- then gives a 2nd feeding! TFT gets a huge piece (looks like a tentacle) and swallows it. WYL then leaves his nest and comes over to TF's nest and does some Albie- chick-sitting 🙂 Uncle WYL is such a great albie pseudo parent to TF.

LGL arrives back and walks up to her nest and has some neighborly interactions and preening with WYL. LGL walks over to TFT nest and WYL comes over and they have another preening session.

Albatross commonly will preen one another to remove head lice. It does not mean that they are interested in a new mate. LGL then returns to TF and gives her chick a feeding.

LGL returns to WYL and TFT and they interact once another. Looks like LGL does nudge TFT with her bill gently - TFT wants Dad all to his self! WYL starts in on giving TFT a 3rd feeding and LGL will leave. WYL departs shortly after LGL. TFT's weight should get a big bump up from today's feedings!! And will TF be able to maintain his status as the heaviest chick in the colony again next week? ♥

Good Evening Beakers

Lots of upsets in the Men's conference championships this week - my team included... :'(  Now wait to see who goes where for the NCA tourneys...
Working this weekend.  Garden Center is picking up - we now have all of the garden bulbs in stock as well as fruit trees, shrubs, roses and live flowers (pansies, etc)  Most everything else is fully stocked now.  We are still moving stuff around inside the store as well.

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, Harley did good at the vet, got his claws trimmed. Ed said he started getting fidgety near the end! The Doc said he could stand to lose a little weight! Ha! And there's Bob! Sweet kitties with their Saint Patty's hats! We sure do learn a lot here in the Beak, don't we!  56 and windy here today! Love the sound of the Sandhill Cranes in the 365!

oldguy, lots of goodies to watch, looking forward to watching them later!  Didn't know donkeys were so fierce!

Lani, thanks for the Alby update! I feel I need a gameboard and some pawns labeled WYL, LGL, TFT & TF to map out all their interactions! No, I never noticed any issues with Bella's sight! It was the teacher that suggested an eye check! And tsk is right, I said it wrong. She is near sighted, needs the glasses for distance sight, like the blackboard or TV.

E4E, yes, I was surprised that Bella needed glasses! She gets that from her Mom, Erin has excellent vision. I remember when he was probably in 6th grade or so, he wanted glasses! So we had his eyes checked and they were fine!

tsk, you were right! Bella doesn't need glasses for reading! It's the blackboard! I am assuming they still use blackboards in school...  ;D  I remember Cathy and I being scared when we rode with Becky and Jennifer when they lived in Chicago! They were pros at it though! It was crazy! Portland was almost as bad! Now they are in a much smaller town, sort of in the country.

baz, you are doing good on your walking! And your salad sounds delish! We are going to let Harley upstairs later this morning. He is up here now, we let him have the run of the house since the kittens are in our bedroom for the night. We shoo him down with Ed at 7:00 and let the kittens out. Then at 9:00 PM the kittens go upstairs and Harley gets to come up.

Lisa, hope Bandit had a good birthday! How nice of Jeff to treat him with some salmon! I got salmon at Sams and some fresh asparagus for dinner Sunday!

Lori, love your Happy Birthday for Bandit!
