some bounce

I am very happy we have a fenced yard, at least to keep the deer out. Bunnies are another thing.  :P

Camper and I redid our front flower/shrub, tree bed a few years ago... selecting deer and rabbit "proof" plants that attract pollinators. So far, so good.

I'm heading out to see if we have berries yet.

Tsk, I feel so sorry for the urban deer and I am glad yo are  feeding them!   Wonder what you could  put  out for them!  People feed feral cats but not the little bunnies m deer,  or other wild life!  i feel so sorry for them.  I am a foster fail  two times and would have been so a third time but my other foster fail did not  think it was a  good idea!

Thanks for the sloth report!  They are so cute!   New little baby is a doll..

Tsk, sounds like your church is thriving!  Good for
them!   Good program and volunteer appreciation  go. Long way for growth!

clynn - Don't those croissants look yummy?  I would love one with some butter on it. We had a nice downpour this afternoon, and I thought it might make it cooler, but it is so humid now.  Wow, the kiddo is as big as the parent!

karen - I hope BSL does not either.  It has really turned out very nice from all the pics I see my friends back home post on Facebook.

tsk - Oh no, I won't do the volunteer thing either at the shelter.  Bless those people that do, tho!  Yikes on the deer munching on your flowers.  Plant more daisies!

Lani - That would be me too, never give them back.  Aww, thanks for the pics from TRR!

kb and tig - Afternoon  :)

KB  We have lived in this home for 16 years now.  It has only been in the last 3 years we have had a problem.  I've virtually given up on all my beautiful perennials because I have all the milkweed in the midst of it all as well. I have to be able to walk through the garden to harvest monarch eggs.   It's a pretty wild area  now  LOLOL  I do keep weed outs as much as I can.  We have the tomatoes covered now.  Two years ago they ate the tomato buds - last year they did not!!
Interestingly I have the entire east side of my house lined with hosta.  They have not touched those. And those I wouldn't care about as I don't see them.   I've resigned myself so no worries.  Not complaining - just amazed!!  They probably need to thin the deer that live in the forest preserves.  I'm about 5 blocks away and must be the only home with a garden.  LOLOL

TIG  Our decorative fence around our yard is 4 feet  - a walk in the park for deer.  Code says you cannot go higher than 6 feet and our neighbor has that.  No problem for deer.  All of my annuals are bunny proof - None gets eaten.  We do not feed the birds in the summer either - except for suet  which helps to keep critters out.

KAREN   LOL  Tim thought that all the deer would have known about one of their members that jumped the fence and into the tomato hoop and that they wouldn't be back - Seriously dear::) ::)

LISA   I do have lots of daisies so that is a plus  LOL

So Hills Med Ctr: I had two extra blood tests added- kidney and cholesterol.   I have to get a bone density.  And see an hand surgeon for a consult
on the huge arthritis cysts (to my eyes any way)on each hand at base of thumb. These are quite painful and interfere  with movement. Doc may opt for
injections into the nerve to curb pain  at first. But, that wont's make the thumbs work any better and the cysts get in the way and keep my
thumbs folded on the palms of my hands.

CLynn very pretty greeting today; tks for nests updates on Norwich Peregrine Falcon

Tsk thanks; choco chip muffins-look delish; yep! can never get enough of those 'kitty cuddles'; nice you're able to tolerate the deer. But, if you
reach a time you  can't---'Repel All'

Karen thank you  :-* pets to Piper; i too feel sorry for urban deer and all urban critters

Lisa thanks; lovely roses and another latte, too this AM; cat fostering fail here as well... I'd want to keep them-all.

OG tks for the video on  Kilauea and good ol' Walter /kitties

Lani  Thank you !; tks for sloth-Tulip-update and there's the toucans  of TRR ;) ; hope all goes well for Mike; tks for the Royal Cam update too.

I think I'm caught up for the day.

Good Night Everyone...    sleep well.

Lolol!  I thought about that deer from last year! B so sad!   No deer here that I am aware of.  Rabits under my mound of azeleas  in the front yard, and I am not aware of them eating anything in the yard!  If they do, so be it!   Squirrels in the back!  6 foot privacy fence with escape areas closed off!  No rabbits can get in!
Maybe you could leave a plate of food out for the deer!  Fresh veggie plate!

Lani- You are welcome of course for all of Shannon's birthday posts & well wishes!!  Hope Mikes trip in Ohio is going well.

Phyl- How are you doing after the tests?  Hopefully resting and having a nice evening. Hope all went well.

Clynn- Thank you for well wishes for my Mom.  I believe her doctor is helping her!

LisaG-  I wouldn't blame you if you never foster again.  You put all your love, heart & soul into those kittens, and I know it had to have been so emotionally draining for you to have taken those kittens from your home (and that's all they ever knew) to the animal shelter to be adopted out to new homes.  I know you truly loved each and every kitten.  You & Jeff were the best that ever fostered!!  I really mean it. :-*

Og;  The Kilauea volcano is amazing.

Tsk;  Oh no - the deer munching on your garden areas! :(

Lani;  Cute new little baby Waylon!  Cute Sloths.  ;D

Kb- Good to prevent your garden areas from getting eaten by some critters!  Protect your beautiful yard! :)

Tig; I bet it is hard to keep the bunnies out! ::)    You always get to look forward to the best berries!!

Karen; You & Piper have a good evening!

Beakers have a good night.

Tig, Repel All works here for rabbits and squirrels. But, it's the javalenas I want to keep away from my perennials. They are diggers.

{{{Phyl}}} I hope you're tests are going well... I pray you can find answers for the pain in your hands.

SED Karen and Piper I feel for the wildlife especially when it's hot. I do leave three large water filled dishes out for them. Also, this prevents them from attacking our dripping lines for water.

SED Tsk, Lisa, Eagles, Mike's trip is going well. He gave a good presentation today.

Good night!

Good Evening Beakers

The eruption at Kilauea was short lived - last about 12 hours - but gas emissions are still elevated.  There was a land slide inside of Halemaumau Crater today on the West rim.  Otherwise it is quite.

In Iceland, they have gas release from a fissure that opened up inside of the protective walls.  No lava reported, but it is a wait and see.

This delicious Turtle Ice Cream Pie starts with a layer of creamy turtle tracks ice cream, chocolate fudge sauce, caramel sauce, and toasted pecans, in a crunchy chocolate cookie crust.

NATIONAL KETCHUP DAY
June 5 is National Ketchup Day on the National Day Calendar and we are celebrating the most popular condiment in the U.S. Let's dip right into the origins and history of this food condiment day and see why this red sauce is a staple on our tables across the nation.

#NATIONALKETCHUPDAY
Ketchup comes from the Chinese word kê-tsiap that dates back to 300 BC in China. Kê-tsiap was a sauce made from fermented fish, consisting of anchovies or oysters, mushrooms, and walnuts. The sauce became very popular with the British during the 17th century when British sailors came across a local fish sauce while in Southeast Asia. In fact, British sailors were known to add the fish sauce to their crackers and meats.
