Interesting fish story of the morning. . .

I don't know if y'all fish catfish, Camperstig?   BL?  But here's the report on early morning Fox today.  A guy in Oklahoma caught himself a catfish overnight.  A record for him, previous was 53 pounds, but not a total world record which is at 106 pounds, his catch was 95 pounds.  And, he really didn't "catch" it.  He did the trick with the long line with multiple hooks on a line overnight.  Checked it out yesterday morning and saw a dip in the line.  Long story, long/hard job getting it up and in the truck.  It could have been lucky/good technique/or really dumb fish.

Who does catfishing?

Good Morning Beakers!  CATURDAY!

Phyl, very interesting article on Siamese Cats! I knew about their points but had never heard about the fur being darker after surgery, I wondered why Sophie's tummy was darker!

Love all the cat pics, and that wooden structure is so unique! Love those planters in the wall! I have that experience when making the bed, they just seem drawn to it! The umbrellas on the balcony! And the Box Guide, all good!

E4E, good to hear that your Mom is getting relief from the cortisone (?) shot!  Ed is still going to P/T once a week but he went back to work last week. The P/T has really helped!

Puff, your story of Puff reminded me of my Max, he was losing weight and it turned out to be diabetes. Two shots a day, just under the skin, after eating. He lived for almost 2 years after the diagnosis, but he also had a condition called megacolon, which was devastating. He eventually quit eating much which is not good for giving insulin. He was 15.  Bogey was my 'Puff' soul cat, he died in 2000 from renal failure, he was 11. And like you, it still can bring tears thinking about him...

Lisa, your insulin shots are exactly like the Ozympic that I take, only mine is just once a week. My A1C was 6.4 but my doctor wanted me to take it for the heart benefits, helping prevent strokes. I am so glad they progressed past the syringe that you had to fill. I had to do that with the above mentioned cat!  Brien is reminding me of oldguy when he was going through all the stuff...

nr just posted on FB that two have hatched so far at the Wells Fargo osprey nest! She is trying to get a picture!

Wells Fargo Osprey Cam - It's hard to see but there are 3 hatched now! One to go!

Two connections more with stories from Eagles and Phyl. . .

Shots do work.  For about 2 or 3 years I had steroid shots in my spine, also at months between.  Was a Godsend.  I always thought it was a mind game.  Get a shot and pain was gone by the time I left the outpatient.  Again lasted 3 or 4 months.  Finally stopped altogether.
However about 2 years ago pain started in my hip.  Last year I had enough.  My doctor relocated; I had to find a new doc.  He also wanted to do cortisone instead.  I had one treatment which did zilch.  But then I had my episode a year ago where all blood work was cancelled.  I got clearance and I'll restart soon with the hip treatment in the fall.  This doc also wants to try 3 or 4 injections before doing surgery.  Meanwhile it's pain and my friend Stick.

These fur friends can really be - I was going to say attachment, it's more than that.  You had a lot of good years with Bogey, and you/we know  and so did they!!! that we loved them.  And poor Ton. . .  I was out of town with a 10-day work trip - Ton was taking care of Puff.  As often happened at the end, Puff would miss me and stop eating.  You mentioned, important, they can't stop eating.  The inevitable was recommended, Ton tried to keep him until I got back.  When we got back from the airport pickup, Puff wasn't waiting at the door.  Ton told me. . .   :'(

The office did keep him - stiff as he was I had to go say goodbye before he was cremated.  A few final stroke on the tail.

Three years before I finally saw/found pain-in-the-Ashley.  You all lived with me and her story.  Thanks for caring and understanding the love we have for our furry friends, and even featherly friends (Horace) .

Happy Caturday Beakers!
Morning Lisa, Ezee, Eburg, Weasel, Jilltosa, Kb, Tsk, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eaglesrock, Emyrauld, Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Eagles, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, BL, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie, jicaji, LB, and All!

Clynn, sweet Caturday pics... sweet pic of S&S! ... glad the pt helped Ed. I love seeing Harley with his young sibs! A family!  :-* {{{Max, Bogey}}} I loved all our cats, we've had 12, Weezel was my soul cat... good news from WF nest, the chicks blend into the nest so well.

Phyl, cute Simon  ;D and I can relate to changing bed sheets!  ;D ... awww "only in Italy" love this pic! Cat lovers for sure :-*... sweet Siamese cats, thanks for article.

{{{Puff}}} thanks for sharing your sweet Puff memory with us.... I needed to give our sweet tabby Weezel insulin shots too. He lived to be 23. Bless our fur babies, we do anything for them.

Lisa, thanks for sharing update on Brien.... I bet it's frustrating to be so far away from being able to help your brother with your mom's things. I felt that way when it was my sister was going through the same thing after our mother died.... Mike uses the same type of insulin pen.

Kb, beautiful back deck area.

Tig, Congrats to Camper! Maybe the bald eagle was hoping for bit too! .... Regarding the fish: you have a great deal going with your nice neighbor.... a good ending to your trip. Safe travels home.

Eagles, glad the cortisone shot helped your mom. We met Shannon last night for her birthday dinner. She looked wonderful, fun visit.... Her birthday is Monday, but Mike will be in Ohio.... A lovely night sitting on Fargo's patio here in Payson. For some reason I was so tired. Mike went to bed early and I curled up on the chair in my office and fell asleep until 10pm, jumped up and posted good night... I didn't mean to fall asleep  :o

Phyl- Pretty 'June', and like the happy 'Caturday'!!    Those kitty boxes! Lol!  Great images today  ;D

Puff- Interesting 'Catfish' story!

Clynn- Lol! Like the 'F' in art class!   No it was not a Cortisone shot that my Mom got.  I can't recall the name of the medicine, but I do remember him saying that Doctors aren't giving Cortisone shots anymore (maybe that's a California thing - I don't know)!
So sorry that I somehow didn't know that Ed returned to work.  Glad to hear he is better with the PT. :)

Tsk- Thank you Tsk, I too hope that this shot lasts quite a while for my Mom!

Lani- So glad you all celebrated Shannon's birthday a little early with dinner!!  ;D  You & Mike have a nice weekend before his Ohio trip! :)

Forgot to tell you guys a funny thing that happened to me!  The day before yesterday, I went and picked up my new prescription glasses from Costco.  I remember trying them on and thinking these don't seem right. I put them in my purse.  I finally put them on yesterday morning to do something on my computer and I realized that I could not see well at all.  So I promptly drove back to Costco and told her that I cannot see with my new glasses.  She checked on them, and said 'That's the problem - these glasses belong to someone else - you were given the wrong ones'.   So she found MY new glasses and all is fine!!

Also, mentioning that we are preparing to leave on a cruise to Alaska!!  We leave on 6/17 & return 6/28. :)

PUFF   I didn't realize that was how Puff passed away...How sad.

LANI  Typical cat pose  LOL  Have never had any of our previous 6 cats live beyond 13 yrs.  :(    22 and 23 years seems unfathomable to me.

We just had a wonderful 90 minute rainfall. Will check the gauge at the end of the day.

Made some more strawberry rhubarb sauce this AM.  Tedious but yummy.  I share with Tim's Uncle Jim and SIL Barb - Only ones that like it  YAY  More for me  ;) ;)

Eagles4 - Oh I'm so happy to hear you are taking a cruise!...I imagine it will be a beautiful one in Alaska!..take lots of pics ;) ;)

Was your Mom's hip pain from bursitis?..the bursae around the joint?..
They still inject cortisone here in Minnesota in joints for OA and/or other joint pain issues.

Was it PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma therapy: for the joint itself not the bursae.

Or maybe Hyaluronic Acid...something that cushions the joint or I assume the bursae.

Been busy this am with errands, grocery shopping, and just now home from a walk with Ollie man.
Too late for the walking thingy in the summer. Although it's only 73 out, we cut it a block shorter on a rectangular walk.
Note to self: get out much earlier or skip it...although he's fine, I carry water and he drinks it, etc.
Just probably more comfortable if I get ahead of the sun/warmth.

Still busy....Later.

Good Afternoon Beakers....Happy Caturday!

tig - Nice on the eagle sighting!

Puff - Glad to hear that your Puff lived a nice long life with his diabetes.

tsk - You're welcome  :D

Phyl - I do like the easy of the insulin pen..turn the knob for the correct dosage, and inject. Love the kitty planters.

karen - Thank you!  Oh wow, the SWFL cams are going off for the season already?

E4E - Thanks for the hugs.  Brien checked in with me this morning, he is making some nice progress with some of Mama's accounts and stuff.  OMG....someone else's glasses, no wonder you couldn't see!  :D

Lani - Oh my goodness, what a cute good night pic!  It is frustrating being so far away, and when Mama made him the Executor.  He tells me every day...why didn't she put your name on this too...you could be doing this all day while you are at home.  I work!   ;D

clynn - Yes, Brien is like oldguy doing all this stuff  ;D Oh, I would love to have a A1C of 6.4!  Love the pic of the kitties on table.  That pic of the F in art class of the cat drawing...that kitty below is what Misty "Fatty Patty" looks like!

tsk - Aww, best friends!

A great video of the Urbandale eaglets surviving a nest tip over with them in it during those Iowa storms.

EAGLES  Oh my gosh!  Your Costco glasses story is something else.  Luckily your new glasses did not go to someone else.  LOL
One of my girl group friends just returned last Sunday from an Alaskan cruise and we are all getting together on the 10th to hear all about it!  She went with her dtr.  Jean lost her husband last year about this time so it was wonderful that her dtr wanted to do the trip with her.   You need to tell us all about your trip  ;D ;D  What cruise lines?

CLYNN  I see they are finding all kids of uses for Ozempic.

KB/JASPURR  Thanks for the Urbandale update.  So miraculous that the 3 survived and like the guy said that they weren't killed by the weight of the nest!
