Happy Birthday  Lisa!  Do celebrate in style!

I keep thinking that is pure luck that precious M has not been killed by a car, getting provisions for his family!  He must be irish!
It is my understanding that cursive is nack in many places!

Good Morning Beakers

tig - Your Poutine sounds good.  I hope you enjoyed it.  :D

E4E - The Reuben was delish!

clynn - We call chipped beef, SOS, too!  ;D  Thanks for posting karen's flowers.  They look beautiful.  Glad to hear that Harley and the kitties are making some introduction progress.  Sounds like it is going good.  Aww, look at Sophie with her wastebasket. Love the teacup planter.

Phyl - Your dinner sounded delish, too.  Thanks for the links!

tsk - The bread on the Reuben was a grilled marbled rye.

Lani - How was your Reuben?  ((Mike))

oldguy - Thanks for the St. Paddy's Day meal video. Yay, on the card win!

karen - Oooo, I hope you had a KK for me.   :)

kb - Jeff took off today, and is taking me out to lunch.  I have not decided where I want to go yet.

Happy Birthday Lisa!

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown

KB   No kidding on your snow possibilities.  :o   Love the camouflage abilities of owls.  Loved that writing by hand article.  My daily planner is all by hand as are grocery lists and many to do lists.  LOL

KAREN   My Milwaukee twin great nieces are learning cursive.

LISA   Enjoy your lunch out today.  It is freezing here today - very windy and chill in the 20's  :o  I'm positive OG's b-day cake is "low sugar"  ;) ;) ;)

LORI  We have a small store in town that is exclusively macarons!  Pricey but a nice surprise treat for someone.

Off to ladies lunch with 4 of the 7 of us Barb in Fl, Jo having medical tests and Maureen just broke her tibia and had surgery  sigh.  Growing old is not for the faint hearted!!!

That cake uses cherries, so it has to be diabetic approved...

Cherries are a healthy fruit that people living with diabetes can safely consume as part of a healthy eating plan. Cherries are a low GI fruit, which can help people to regulate their blood sugar levels more effectively. Cherries are also rich in recommended nutrients for diabetes, such as vitamin C and fiber. Jul 19, 2023

How many cherries can a diabetic eat per day?
Healthy sources of dietary carbs include nonstarchy vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and beans. Cherries are an option, but it's important to monitor your portion size. According to The British Diabetic Association, a small portion is 14 cherries (about the same as 2 kiwi fruit, 7 strawberries, or 3 apricots).

 ;) ;D

{{{Tsk}}} enjoy your girl time!  :-*

Tig, have fun!  :)

Lisa, I ended up not getting a reuben. I decided to wait until Mike was better. Enjoy your birthday lunch and day with Jeff!  :-*

Kb, that owl is camouflaged so well. My penmanship isn't as nice as it once was... sign of typing too much. LOL! But, my daily notes, cards, grocery lists, etc., are by hand.

Clynn, Mike doesn't use his vacation days. He's decided to leave for Utah this week. He's going to schedule his shot, then drive to Gila Bend, stay a couple of days, pick up an employee to go with him to Utah. He's thinking about driving there. We don't take vacations. I can't remember the last time we took a trip other than to go with Aly to Santa Fe and watch her graduate.... Oh my gosh, I pray SWFL can get people to help remove roadkill. We can't lose M15 or any of the eagles.  :'( ... sweet Boo  :-*

Phyl, Thanks for a JB classic nature video.... amazing Science break through for those with vocal cord problems. That's sad about Sauces nest.... Thanks for the SWFL video.

Oldguy, Congrats on your great cards!   8) .... I am shocked at how close the people are standing near the lava flow. I can't believe that is allowed. ... Maru  :-*

Karen, Darn those GHOs! Here is the video from Lady Hawk.
SWFL Eagles ~ OWL STRIKES & KNOCKS E23 OFF ATTIC! E23 FLIES LOW TOWARDS FRONT PASTURE! 3.17.24

UPDATE March 17th 2024 ~ T
his morning we could see that E23 in a snag tree close to the nest. At 08:56 E23 flew to the church side snag! Amazing to see E23 flying just fine after such a scary evening! E23 made it back to the nest at 09:27:28.  Indeed E23 is a true warrior eagle and has just proved how much determination and courage it has!

UPDATE: E23 HAS BEEN SPOTTED IN A TREE AND APPEARS TO BE FINE.  ♥♥ You can see E23 flap and stretch its wings out at 02:17:14 on the livestream Pond Cam. Please do not go to the nest and spook E23. This is a critical time for the young fledgling after just getting hit by an owl. E23 will make it back to the nest tree in the morning.

At 00:52:05, a Great Horned Owl struck E23 from the front & knocked E23 backwards off the attic branch. E23 went down and the owl landed on the other nest tree branch and watched E23 falling and went after in the same direction. From the pond cam, we can see E23 falling and going down but was able to fly to the west (right) very low. It appeared that E23 landed in a tree and missed the branch and went down to the ground close to the road. A few seconds later it looks like E23 tried flying again. At 00:52:57 it looks like possibly the owl went in that same vicinity, crossing the road and then back to the tree.

This is all we know at this time. I have notified SWFEC and they will be taking the appropriate measures to locate and make sure E23 is okay. Please do not go to the nest and possibly cause E23 to be even more spooked. I will update everyone as soon as I know something. Prayers for E23 to be okay and not be injured by this owl strike. As soon as it is light out, our local crew will at the nest to look for E23. Thank you for watching!

Ran across this band this week.  They are from Ontario Canada.  The group name is "Walk off the Earth".   The band gained an international following in 2012 with their cover of the Gotye song “Somebody That I Used to Know,” which the five band members performed simultaneously on one guitar.  The female lead vocalist is Sarah Blackwood and she is married to Gianni “Luminati” Nicassio (guitar/drummer).  They have 3 sons currently 10,8, and 6.  The boys perform as the "Luminati Suns" either alone or with the band.  In 2023 the boys won the Juno Award for Children's Album of the Year — Romeo Eats Vol. 2.  The original songs performed by the band and kids are composed by Sarah.
This is a performance from November '23 - The boys do their song at 34 minutes and it is followed by the band doing their song that made them famous - 4 people playing 1 guitar...
