Shep, that makes sense about the eggshell replacing calcium for the mom peregrine.  She may have done just that.  The egg isn't visible in the box this morning.  Could be in the middle of the cuddle-pile of hatchlings, or could be disposed of.

The eyases are creating a poop shoot painting on the back wall of the nest box!

The eyases are moving around in the nest box, clumping on their ankles, same as the eaglets did at first.  They also can sit up and show off their huge crops.   The unhatched egg is no longer visible in the box, possibly eaten by one of the adults.

Three little ones are growing and changing.  Gray down coming in and possibly starts of dark wing feathers, legs and feet turned bright yellow.  Parents feeding them as expected.

The eyases at MSU are doing fine.  This morning, moving around and showing off beginnings of dark wing and tail feathers.  They squee when the parents are bringing a meal.

Eyases grow really fast.  At about 2.5 weeks old, look how big they are, lying at the edge of the nest box this morning, waiting for more food.

Yes, it's amazing how fast they grow!  Only 35 to 42 days from hatch to fledge for peregrines.  Bald eagles are more like 80+ days.

Monday morning, steady growth for these healthy eyases.  They are almost as big as the parent in the background.

Thursday and the eyases now resemble fat, fuzzy panda bear toys.

Welcome to June!  The eyases are showing brown, juvenile feathers now.  Not self-feeding yet, but surely soon.  They are 28 days old today, I think.
Anybody know if banding will happen here at MSU, like in past seasons?

The eyases have been banded as of this morning about 11AM.  Couldn't find the event on the rewind so they must have turned off the camera.  Somewhere, someone will post the banding information of which numbers, sex, etc.  Hope that gets posted here on the RRP forum.
