Hallelujah!...1/2 inch plus of rain fell in 25 minutes.....at times I couldn't see the water tower..
should help cool things off now...some reporting an inch.....it came in sideways at times and my maple leaned over so far it may have blocked some entering my gauge.

Dear Clynn, Erin, Sydney and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Gunner's passing.  :'(
My favorite pic of him is standing with little Bella at the screen door,
and waiting for grandma Clynn to pick her up. (I think that was Gunner)

Wherever a beautiful soul has been,
there's a trail of memories in your heart,
forever always there.

Our high today; 70.

Tsk - Yes! The surgeon's office called me this morning regarding the new date for my Mom's surgery and it is going to be Aug. 17th!    Cute morning gif!

Clynn - So happy that all went well for the Munchkins first Plane flight and that they loved the soccer game!!   Thank you for kind words for my Mom as she tends to be hard on herself if she forgets something, and she knows she doesn't have the best memory anymore - but then neither do I sometimes! :-[    Good for Honey in holding her own! :-* :)
Oh no - I am sooooo very sorry and sad for Erin having to take Gunner in. My heart hurts for them. :'( :'(

Phyl - Good for Jim getting his 3 mo Rx supply!   Your poor Dad worked 30 years in the desert heat - such a dedicated and hard working man he was.   Thank you for cam pics and Amy's blog.

Puff - Love your beautiful tribute for Bob and I think that is wonderful that you found the chance to sneak a hug in on Bob!! :)

Lani - I too, can't wait for you to receive the new transmission for your Washer - hopefully Monday as they told you!   So glad that you have still been able to use the Washer as it is no fun to go to a laundrymat.     That is so nice that Mike got the AC repaired in Aly's car!    I went over and seen my Mom for a bit today, and she is glad that she has a new surgery date!  Wow - Albatross - nice & healthy!

Hi Kb! Beautiful pic of the Minnehaha Falls!

LisaG - I had to Lol (as you told Kb) that your Mom likes to call you everyday when you are at the ATF event! :) :)

Karen - Hope the new yard folks work out well for you. :)

Weasel - Thank you for sharing that special pic!

Hi Baz

Tig - Good idea that you went to the doc  :)

Dear Erin, Sydney and family . . . .so sorry for your loss . . . . warm & gentle hugs for all

I'm watching closely, too, tsk  Heard earlier that it was a probable sever front.  Radar looks like it's about I39 - if it stays on same course, we both should be in its path.

((( Clynn ))) so sorry. Hugz
I decided I'd better go to the doctor to be safe. Not my usual doctor... he agreed with my concern (the area was more reddish and still warm). He thought it might be infected so prescribed an antibiotic. And he said to apply heat as that would allow the medicine into the bruise.
Good news is my RHR was 60 and BP 120/68.

{{{Hugs and prayers Tig}}} take care

{{{Baz and Zippo}}} You're so lucky you have a car repairman that you can trust..... LOL Wine  ;D

{{{Hugs Tsk}}} no apologies necessary. April, May, June was a crazy time for all of us and most especially for you.  :-*
Okay well, about Mike's Explorer :( ... so much going on here, I kept that quiet. Well, his business in CA last Saturday was a meeting for work and picking up this 2010 Explorer in Carlsbad. He had been almost scammed twice prior to this sale. He turned that into Craigs List. When he met the guy for the cash sale at the guy's bank, Mike asked the Carlsbad police to be present. They were very kind and thought it was appropriate to do that. All looked great with the car, 2010, driven 35,000, good shape, no damage report etc...So, sale went well, Mike drove car home. AC worked great traveling...and then with less than 30 miles away from Payson and after a tricky down hill winding road, Mike heard a crack sound, then it felt like something dropped and then he couldn't get the car to slow down, transmission stopped working... Mike had to bring the car to a stop going uphill and off to the side of the road. That was about 5pm our time. He called AAA (which we've had for years) for a tow shop and drive back to Payson. AAA never called back. It was 8:30 before Mike was able to reach the nearest tow shop in Sunflower, they said AAA had called, but they told AAA no help was available, as trucks were on call. Mike said they never called him and he's sitting on highway 87/188 and not even Highway patrol went by.
The owner of the tow truck stop had just returned from a call, his wife told Mike, she felt bad he's been sitting there for over 3 hours. They'll come and get him, and tow Mike/car home.  He was home by 10pm tired, hot and disappointed, he sat down, he had lots of TLC from Sadie, me, and had a beer before bed. The car was towed to a repair shop on Monday and they just saw it today. Thankfully it's not a broken transmission. There was a line that cracked and the bolts that held it fell away. Anyway, that's Mike's adventure  :) And my adventure was cleaning up the oil spots off our cobblestone driveway amongst other things. Spots are gone! ;D

{{{Kb}}} YAY! you got rain!  ;D  we never forget our fur babies. I still have Bandit's pic on my iPhone.

Clynn, never had the jingling pom poms on the girls shoes... did the crochet yarn on Korky's class ring when I was 16 .... a successful season for the Dunrovin Osprey family  :-*
Look at this pic I just saw on their facebook.... dad and the kids with their blue bands!  ;D

Good Morning Beakers!  It's CATURDAY!

Sydney posted this on FB yesterday:

Lani, thank you for the kind words for Erin & Family, it was a tuff day for them. I asked them if they wanted to stay for pizza, (the vet they use is close) and they did. We talked about the fun memories of Gunner and the mood lightened. I had to go back and find that picture of Bella waiting for me to pick her up, and you were right, it was Gunner sitting next to her...  Oh my, poor Mike with the car. He has had some not great memories of car troubles! I am so glad it was something simple and not the transmission! Love that picture of the Dunrovin kids with Dad! They have had good luck in that nest for many years (except when Ozzie passed...)! You had Korky's class ring...there must be a story there...  ;D

E4E, I woke up at 4:15 this morning and decided to go ahead and get up, Honey was probably hungry.  And she was waiting for me to get her food! She ate good and is resting on a chair under the table now. She travels around under the table, from chair to chair, they all have chair cushions. We have to check before we pull a chair out to sit! I am waiting to hear if Erin's other dog Rome is missing Gunner. Rome lives and breathes for Erin, follows him everywhere. Thank you for the lovely words, I will pass it on to Erin. Glad to hear your Mom got her procedure rescheduled!

tsk, the angora yarn was a fad thing, to look pretty and to match your outfit! I do remember getting that envelope with 12 colors of yarn in it! Did you get a storm last night? We got a short shower, about 2 minutes.  :o

Phyl, how do you get your pictures to Pinterest? I can transfer them to Pinterest right from my phone, I have the free Pinterest app on my phone as well as on my pc. It's a longer process to get them from a camera to Pinterest for sure! I just looked, I have almost 14,000 pins, over 2,700 of the Munchkins. It's hard trying to find a certain picture! Thanks for the card for Erin & Family, I have forwarded it on to him...

kb & tig, glad to hear you got some rain!

Lori, hope you and Dad and Destini and your Mom are okay after that mean storm last night! It looked pretty mean on the radar!

Speaking of the storm, it hit RAGBRAI as well:  https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/life/living-well/ragbrai/2023/07/28/severe-storm-threatens-coralville-ragbrai-campground-concertgoers/70490663007/?utm_source=desmoinesregister-newsalert-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsalert&utm_term=Hero&utm_content=pdem-des-moines-nletter04

Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away. ~ Unknown
