Read with sadness and gratitude all the remembrances of BOB - Bob, the leader of the nest always.  I recalled the ride back to Decorah two weeks after ATF to honor him and what he had started.  It started with his falcons and hatched into a lifetime of joy, a thrilling addition/addiction for so many, worldwide.  I've wondered many times, and again on this day, whether he knew the worth and size of his work.  I'm always reminded of the hug I sneaked in that final year at the Winneshiek ATF pizza "meeting".  I told him it was from all those who loved him for introducing us to the thrill of our birds.  (Found out later he didn't actually like hugs.)  So glad for all of us that the message was delivered.

Our love and million thanks if you're listening Bob.

Phyl, I don't think Anthony is anxious to leave anytime soon. I don't blame him, beautiful area.

{{{Clynn}}} I can't believe only three weeks left until school starts and Miss Bella starts the big K, where has the time gone!  :-* ... great photos! So glad to hear they loved the plane ride. I bet they had a blast in NY ... sad to see so many orphaned cubs, but it's wonderful to know they have someplace safe to live and buddies to play with and someday they will be released..... the black eagle chick just knows he's tough! {{{Honey}}} ... beautiful Boulder Osprey family.... Love SE31 and soon to be sibling. :-*

{{{Lisa}}} I hope your car's AC has been repaired. Mike is using Aly's car and just had her AC repaired today. What a relief! he's preparing to sell it and wants it in good condition.
sending prayers that your A1C goes down.... Mike has to give himself insulin shot at night before bed... glad your mom is settled at the hotel... I agree, we've been waiting for a new transmission for my washer for a month, GE warranty never calls, we have to call and remind them. Finally, transmission is supposed to arrive Monday.

Tsk, what a hot day 102 here and 117 in Mesa for Shannon.  :P

Oldguy, enjoyed the videos.. fun Simon... enjoyed the dancing... take care

Lori, Phyl, Clynn, BL, Puff Wonderful tributes and memories of Bob! Thank you :-*

Tig, good luck with the plants. How nice to hear from friends at the lake.  :)

Lori, Prayers sent for your grandma, and hugs for you and Destini  :-*

Eagles, High 68! Lucky Eagle!  ;D It was 102 again.  :P... what's with people trashing a pregnant mama's choice of baby names?! That's terrible! ... awww I just read about your mom. God Bless her, glad you were able to work this out for her and doctor.... all will be well. {{{Hugs Eagles}}}  :-*

Tsk, I forgot that Boomer passed, so many forum members no longer with us or have checked in for a couple of years. God bless them.

Good night!

Decorah North Eagles-- At one time I was knowledgable about this nest--'Scary tree' and not  scary tree; which bald eagle was which
habits of the adults and other wildlife.
But, alas...

All I can say now

Several of the other raptor cams i.e. GSB, GSB-Cliff view; Decorah Goose and etc. are on 'Highlights' .
For me,  it's especially difficult to watch Savahana with her eyas and the gooslings.

Good Morning Beakers!

Phyl, thanks for Amy's Blog, love this picture of HM and DH2!

How is the third Bluebird brood doing? That is a scary looking tree at DNN! Will Anthony still be there when the cam is fixed? High of 98 here today, then back to the 80's. Whew, it's been a hot week!

Lani, I do hope your washer part comes soon! Are you having to go to the laundromat? Why am I trying to remember problems with your washer last year or before? Maybe I dreamed it...  ::) How is Aly doing with her new job and home? And how is Shannon managing the intensive heat in the Valley?

WHO 13 News - Des Moines RAGBRAI event was too big to count - How do you measure the size of a crowd when there are no seats, no rooms, no doors, and no tickets? When you can only estimate a big number, you’re left counting a bunch of small ones. Interesting numbers from RAGBRAI:

Friendly Taiwanese geese:

Today will be a little cooler....the big storms once again went poof over our bubble....sure would have loved to have gotten in on it.

I only know cuz I had street skates and rink skates.  How about the fluffy pompoms,  actually my fave.

Interesting that local Trib had a half sheet, six column story on RAGBRAI.  The 50th anniversery seems to have brought on more attention.  Even me because trib is not my usual read anymore.  They hope to number the usual 20,000 full week entrants, with record breaking participant total of 70,000.  Listed DesMoines as the original start city.

Good Morning Beakers....T.G.I.F.!!!!

Morning tsk and Puff  :)

E4E - So sorry to hear about your Mom missing the calls for her surgery.  ((Hugs)) for her.  My mom has done the same thing with appointments, and gets mad at herself.  I love the names Grammy & Grampy!

clynn - I think my voicemail that I left at dealership must have lit a fire, cause I received a call this morning at 8 am.  I was told that they approved the extended warranty repair for a non-Honda AC compressor, as all Honda compressors are on national backorder.  Of course, the repair won't be don't be don't till Tuesday, as I have an appointment on Monday someplace else.  Beautiful pic of the Boulder kids & Dad, and Congrats on SE31's hatch! Ohhh, I must be that certain age...I remember putting those on Bradley's shoes.

oldguy - Thanks for the map.  Iowa is beautiful, so I bet that ride is a good one.

Phyl - I agree with you on that comment, I sometimes think that when someone says they'll call right away is just to pacify.   Great cam pics!

Lani - Hopefully by Tuesday on my AC in car.  Aly didn't take her car to Oregon?  What insulin does Mike use?  I am glad that your washer transmission arrived!  What a long wait, too.

kb - I texted her yesterday, asked her if all was going ok and she replies...going good.  She hardly calls me when she is with her Miss Fisher friends at the Con, but she wants to call me everyday when I am at ATF!   ;D

Lisa - Haha....that's funny about your Mom...sounds like a one way street to me!....well, when she gets back home you will have to grill her about her visit to St. Paul, MN...although it sounds like it's all about the Con.
will you reschedule your Monday appt then?

Well, headed out with Ollie man as it's a titch cooler but still way too hot...67 dew point vs. yesterday's 73 and temp is 75....Ollie man got hot so we shorted the walk by 4 blocks....course he rolls around on all the homes that have irrigation systems or watered grass..

tig - I thought with that inch of rain Tues night I might be able to go a week without watering the grass..But, after our 100 degree temps or thereabout for 2 days, hmm...maybe not.

Well, tgif!   Humidity 78%!  Possibility of rain after 5pm.  New yard folks starting today!  Had them years ago but the guywho supervised died.  The company does my sprinkler system and the son is now doing lawn care.   Need a lot of bush and shrub triming done!   Things either grow like crazy or die in the heat!  I have a lot of bushes turned into trees around the property!
Thanks for the nest roundup!  Bbl
