Going to be outside with girl who helps me now (couple  years) - just in case I'm not answering.  Yes, moms, I'll not be overdoing it.

Glad to hear that "P'.  We 'moms' do fret from time to time.  I  don't say it. But I can be one of the 'worst'.  ;D

Bear News – June 22, 2023
Construction Continues

Tasha  :-*

Good morning Beakers!
Hi Lilbro, Blschue, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Karen, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, Nrstooge, Omasawyer, Paulie and All!

My prayers for Puff, TSK, Karen/Piper, Misty/3 babies, {{{GSB Alice/Jaycie}}}  :'( :'( :'(
Dear God, I hate to have these owls so close to our favorite nests, well any nests, SWFL, GSB  :'(
And yes I do understand its nature, owls need to eat and feed their young yada, yada, yada, so please KCTY. ;D

Yesterday was a busy day. Kitchen sink pipes was leaking, so I had a plumber at 9am, washer needed new bearings an appliance guy showed up 11am, and at 2pm I had my hair cut with a new stylist. She was very nice and did a great job! I'm easy going, so I didn't expect everything to be done like my former stylist/friend. I'm pleased, and very happy to have someone just 15 minutes away from home. Though I will miss my former stylist Vicki very very much.... And Now, I need to find a GP here too. Though I do enjoy these trips to the valley, I hate Mike having to drive highway 87 and the freeways so often. I'm content to be in my little mountain retreat here in Rim Country.  ;D

I'll be back, Raudel will be coming to help with the trees and I need to water plants and get out of his way.
And sorry for my bad mood. This movers situation has me worried.  :(
Have a good day everyone.
 :)

Good Morning!  Where is Lisa?
Piper is 6 years old, they say.   She arrived at the shelter as a stray.  Research turned up her owner who said they were moving and could not keep the dogs. No medical info other than that she was spayed.  Heart worm negative and a tad overweight!   She is very affectionate and engages well,  and does not appear to be house trained!   I think I am nuts!  It takes up to 3 months for a dog to decompress   Goimg to do a dna test.  Kit arrived this morning!
Hate owls!  Theyneed to stick to mive!
Glad to see Lisa who showed up while I was dilly dabbling!

I'm sure Lisa and Jeff are honored that you named her after Misty's kitten, Piper.  :) :-* :-*  Do you know how old she is, or how she came to be at your animal services?  I hope she has beem house-trained in the past, and will get re-house trained again soon. Fun! Enjoy sitting on your porch with your new Piper and watching the hummingbirds and all your wonderful view.  :) :-* :-*

Barred Owls hunting in a pack .. the noises .. Ya' still got some hair on the back of your neck.

Half Moon Pond, VT.

I've seen seasoned Black Bear and campers take flight was the Rangers 1st Reply.

When all the forest tries to keep to itself at dusk.

I'd say a caboodle of winged things keeps this reach of this neck mighty clean.

We all agree KarenG- Piper looks like a sweetie.  Remember and allow for the fact that she's uncertain and scared - she'll come around.

Lani - my trip last Wednesday to Good Samaritan was 11-12 minutes, waiting for ambulence, maybe 3-4 minutes.  Time was and is of the essence.  My story: When I moved here 53 years ago there weren't but 3 houses around.  Then they put in an exway ramp.  Now it is, to be honest, busier and noisier.  Only small private owners for businesses, seems like most residents are/were looking for the joy of being small and isolated.  Some people in the county even know where Darien is.  Haven't been in Chgo in at least 6 months.  (Had to have pizza from my favorite place for my BD tradition.)  But again I digress. . .My point is, 50 years ago  I didn't know the serious need to select your location when getting near 60 yrs.  My area developed surprisingly nice.  And. . .the rate of return from taxes could be responsible for all the realllly important benefits.

The reason I've chosen Lani to address this to - I still vividly recall you mentioning before about a trip for Mike to Paxton for vital help.  You said then that rather wait for an ambulence (90 miles) and then ride back it back to Paxton would be measured in hours/parts of hours.  DIY about 1/2 the total time???

No, I like the service I got last week.  I only mention this issue to have the oldsters on here make it an important step in the process of moving/choosing.  More vital? than closer to Walmart, fav icecream,  or even pizza?

baz - Thanks for the kind words on Misty and Bandit.  I saw the video that you mentioned about Alice, and it did look like she was taken by an owl.

Puff - That must have been very frightening!

Have a good night, everyone!

Lisa, I got another PM this morning from a regular, daily,, GSB nest follower, who said that apparently Jaycie, one of the 3 remaining eyasses at GSB, was taken from the top of the GSB nest box by an owl early this morning. Apparaently there is a video of it, but I can't watch that.  :'(   RIP Jaycie, GSB PEFA fledgling... Fly high and dive steep, with your other heavenly sibling, Alice, and your heavenly mom, Savanna.  :-* :-* :-*  Hoping for continued success and a better long-term outcome for Newman and his 2 remaining fledgling eyasses at GSB.  :-* :-* :-*

baz - Jaycie is ALIVE!!! I wonder if she escaped the owl.

Puff - Here here!.....if that's how one applauds one..

Health care accessibility is vitally important....some of us can't just up and move without considering that.
And after all why is it the "good people" should just move..not even considering financial costs?

In the Twin Cities, health care access is limited to the er um Twin Cites except for Rochester and Buffalo...
Only going to get worse.

I'm thankful I have a hospital less than a mile away...just blocks.

Tornado thru Springfield. Chatom, Taylorville, etc today!   Mickey had a lot of large tree limbs down but Neighbors had a tree thru the house, another had the roof blown off something!   She called me from the hospital where she was waiting for Kathryn to finish some lung tests!  She has pneumonia and they are ruling out a clot.
Puff!  Stay in!
