Tsk I hear ya on simplfying one's life. Working on some goals and then we'll see.  Isn't that 'thing' your searching for always in the last place
ya look? LOL

Lani tks fro Iris photo.

Lisa much to the chagrin of the OHH HOA I put outdoor artificial  bushes out last spring/fall.  They whinned and I said  ;D
I have artifical boxwood all accross the front porch bed.  And outdoor silk potted flowers on the porch. Will change them out according
to holiday/season.   From 2 ft can't tell the difference.  If the azealas don't make it , I may go 'fake' there and that will cost.

Tsk most of my inside plants are 'silk'. Mike loved eating living plants  too much and I was tired of the kitty barf. Again can't tell the difference and once potted  trouble -free. Been doing this for eons.
I usually keep philodendron in pots, dinningroom and each bathroom to keep the house oxygenated.

KB nothing like pets to add some joy. Albeit mixed bag of emotions at times.

Clynncountry club  lunch sounds like fun. To me anyway.. ;)   That's nice that you're still in touch with fellow co workers. Ditto Tsk, Olivia sounds interesting. Sad about her husband.  :(  Has to be really tough.
Bella looks nice today. And, did I sport a 'wink' in that last photo? :)

Oh yeah! I keep all the plant tags from outdoors after I pull them. Hate seeing them on the plant and so I have shoe bag on the back of laundery room door as per Martha Stewart.  ;)

Got back no long ago ---pedicure time.
Have no idea what's for dinner. But, I'll thnk of something.   ;)

Lisa, mamma dogs tend to encourage puppies to “leave the nest”
When they get sharp teeth and begin to bite while  nursing!  I would assume that might be the case with cats.
They then spend a short time scolding and bossing them around and then ignore them! A lot different than most humans!  Oh my, clynn just posted a response to the cat question!
Oh my,  Bella in her fancy dress at the fancy place! lol

Hope all have a restful night.o

Perhaps the coreopsis/gaillardia were once different plants, but now considered one in the same.

I was at my EVIL garden shop today, started a discussion with a customer and then pulled one of the family owners into the talk.  He said he grew up with them identified it as one the Virginia wildflower group.  I originally thought they were part of the daisy family; learned the coreopsis group later.

One more trip to the EVIL Wannamaker shop to go.  Still need some of the tomato.  Then I will be lighting a fire under the Ash of my helper with the rototiller.  tsk  Have you ever heard of Wannnamakers or been there?  In Downers Grove/Ogden Avenue, across from the restaurant we went to.  Family owned since 1970's.

Thank you---so much!
In my gut. I knew that was correct.
When I first search for the flower, I typed in 'Coreopsis' and came up witht he photo I first posted yesterday.
I recall the vintner's wife calling the Arizona Sun Blanket ,  Coreopsis.

Just goes to show that something can go by many different names and still be the same. Even with minor variations in DNA.

Howdy Beakers!  :)

Clynn, nice to get out for lunch with Olivia and family. Sorry for her husband's illness. Love the pics of Bella - glad she had fun at the fancy lunchspot.  ;) :D

Lani, I loved hearing about Jewel being accounted for, and Lily being spotted and healthy, with her 3 healthy yearlings.  :-* Gorgeous pictures of them! And of Iris, with her "Catch of the Day." Another whopper!!  :D :-*

Karen, nice to get your yard watered, compliments of the skies.  ;) My area needs some rain - it's been mostly going around us lately and things are getting pretty dry again. It's supposed to rain here later Thursday, and on Friday - a nor'easter here Thursday, so lots of wind, with an offshore gale, followed by a coastal low developing for Friday that could become a hybrid tropical system.  ::) The weather roller coaster rides again. LOL.

((Lisa)), bring on Monday!!

TSK, smart move on simplifying. I went the simplification route a few years ago and I've never looked back!

E4E, nice to catch up with such a good friend!

OG, it sounds like you're getting a little of a lot of different weather.  ;)

BL, did you have a fun and exciting Chattooga run?

Phyl, LOL on finding things in the last place you look. The Flyway screenshot tonight is so pretty and serene. I hope you find the plant you're looking for.

Gaillardia and Coreopsis are in the same plant "Family," known as Asteraceae (sunflowers), but each is in its own Genus, with quite a few Direct Children Species. Some of the Gaillardia species have similar coloring as, and resemble, some of the Coreopsis species.

Here's their taxonomic hierarchy...
Gaillardia:

Coreopsis:

Good night, Beakers. Peace. SED.

Kb, glad Ollie's doing so well!  ;D

Clynn, Bella looks very pretty for the fancy place with Olivia.  ;D. I'm sorry about her husband. It's nice that Erin helps her too... I had to look up Bone Gap, Ill.  ;D....

Tsk, I'm buying more hanging baskets this year too. Looking forward to going to the plant nursery this weekend. I hope you and Tim are feeling well. :)

How does the saying go?  A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Paraphrased:  A coreposis/gaillardia by any other name would be just as lovely.
