Happy Day, Beakers!

CLYNN, Ed took some great pics of the grands at the park! Love Bella and Talon taking turns straddling that pipe/slide. They're both so cute!  :D :-* :-*

Lani - Great pics of the Dunrovin kids.  I hope your internet got sorted out.

Karen - Glad to hear the vet neighbor helped you with some storm prep.

Baz - Are you going to feel any of this, or are you out of harms way?

Have a good night, Beakers!

OMG, how cute...a dog with perfectly round ears...I had to google it to make sure it wasn't AI.....it's real. A maltise/papillon mix....

Just lazying around here today....oh I walked Ollie, errands, and sprinkled the back yard, dinner, etc.
But not much.. :)

For me, it doesn't help we have very bad air quality once again.....wildfire smoke.

some bounce
We went to the state fair. I rented a scooter and we did a lot of testing as Camper's foot is a bother. We tried some new foods and old, and I had a foot long hot dog in honor of my Mom. We usually go on Labor Day but switched due to weather. Glad we did. It was military appreciation day and we applauded a parade of veterans for a good 5 minutes.
Of course, I had my fun and "beat children" at the water squirt game to get a small stuffed animal. LOL. Gotta revisit the childhood sometimes.

Lisa, we expect tropical force winds and lots of rain where I am, but I don't expect anything particularly severe here, and flooding will not reach my home or car. It's really the scary sudden spin-up tornadoes that are so common in the bands of tropical systems that will be the concern here for me. They happen so fast and so often that sometimes there is very short, or no, warning for them. Zippo will spend Wednesday night in my safe room bathroom, and much of the day Thursday, and it will be set up so that all I have to do is make a quick dash to it if needed. We might lose power, but don't expect widespread outages here. I'm ready Freddie. Thanks for asking.

((KAREN)), Fingers crossed Idalia decides to track east or south of you!!! I am thinking of you! Use your "safe room" - as early and often and for as long as needed... I know you will.  Maybe you can take a quilt and pillows and water in there, and you and Piper just hang out in there. Remember not to open your exterior doors or step outside on your porch if you get a sudden "lull" - if it's the eye, you know, it will pass quickly to the next part of the eye wall - lickity split!! No warning for that at all!!! Though it can be so tempting!  You might want to keep Piper on a very short leash right by you when you let her out after the storm, even if she doesn't like it, instead of letting her walk around the yard, until you are certain there are no live power lines down in the yard, or any electrical current running through water on the ground. Fingers crossed Idalia decides to track east or south of you!!!

Take care, All. G'night. Peace. SED.

Clynn - We had a great mini-vac in Tahoe!  We saw a few places way up high on top of the Mts where there was still some snow and we actually saw a water fall with melting snow, this was while we were driving!  Weather was in upper 70's each day - we heard the temp will be 81 tomorrow, but we are back home.    Love the Yosemite pic!! ;D   Love the pics of the Munchkins out at the park with Ed!!

LisaG - Just read that you did have a wonderful visit with Sydney. :)  So special you even got a smile!! :)  That was so nice to take them bagels. :)

Phyl - Hope you & Jim are feeling a bit better.  I know you are doing everything to get you both well.

Kb - You mentioned you have some painting to do - hope the weather will be nice for you to do this. :)

Karen - We actually never went into a casino - just didn't have enough time! ;)  We only had 1 full day, and we walked along the lakeside beach, then went to a popular shopping/tourist area where there was lots to see and do!  The time went by way too quickly for us!

Baz - Good info for Karen - stay safe.

Lani - Love Manaaki!   I am so sad to hear about Robin - Thank you TRR for all you do.

Lori - Thank you too for Royal Albatross!! ;D

Tig - What a fun day for you & Camper at the State Fair!!!  I love that you played the water squirt game and won a stuffed animal!! ;D

Tsk - Love what you said:   All in harms way be safe, and keep Eagles and all of God's creations safe.

Idalia landfall is now expected to make landfall near Horseshoe Beach and near Cat 3 wind speeds - this path is now closer to Karen and also Baz, but only a rain event for Baz.  65 to 75 winds for Karen.

{{{Karen and Piper}}} you have a wonderful vet/friend to help you prepare. I'm sure the hummingbirds are tucked safely away. Please be safe and take care. I'll be thinking of you.   :-*
{{{Baz and Zippo}}} thanks for always thinking of others... you both stay safe and take care,

Kb, darling pups....glad you took the day off.  :)

Tig! LOL! Sounds like a perfect day! We should all revisit our childhood. Keeps us young and that's good for the soul!  ;D

Eagles, I was reading about your time in Lake Tahoe and seeing snow, made me wonder about Mammoth mountain. I wonder how they recovered after all that snow. I just checked their website, and I read 72 days till winter. You and Kris ought to go back sometime and make it a longer stay....

Oldguy, thanks for weather update... and videos.

Good night!

Good Morning Beakers!

The last picture is for karen, Piper and baz, praying they all stay safe while Idelia passes through later this morning.  Stay safe Beakers!

I forgot to report, I called the car dealership Monday afternoon (since they hadn't called me as promised) and talked to someone.  Just a bit later the guy from the Service dept called and the repairs to the hatchback will be covered by the warranty! Now we wait for the part to come in. (Don't they have any parts in stock?) I will discuss with the Service Dept the charge I got and paid for the diagnostic on the hatchback which found nothing. $86. The guy at the Collision Dept knew what was wrong just by looking at it, no diagnostic necessary.

tsk, hello there! Love the penguin zonk!

Lani, love the sweet puppy in his jammies!  You made me think of Mammoth Mountain! From NPR 8/4/23 The lifts at Mammoth Mountain in California will stop spinning Sunday after an incredible season spanning 275 days — the second-longest ski season in the resort's recorded history — and nearly 900 inches of record-breaking snowfall. I still can't get over pictures like this one:

E4E, sounds like your mini va-ca in Tahoe was just what you needed! Sometimes it doesn't take much!

oldguy, I am always amazed at how Maru gets on the swing!  And it's nice to actually see Claire these days, she has the very best for all of her kitties!

Lani, great pictures from Dunrovin, the kids all look great! Snap, Crackle and Pop! They will all be heading south soon.

Lisa, hope you fell asleep dreaming of Sydney and all the fun and love ahead!

Good morning!   Up since 6:30 to get Piper out!  She would not go until after 7 and then I could not get her in!  Pouring rain!  I went out and could notget her!  There was a dead mocking bird in the yard that she wad messing with last night!  I could not pick it up so thought I would get it this am!  Was out with a granber but could not find it or the dog!  Neighbor came over and the different voice got her running!  We are all in and soaking wet!  Not sure of our wind velocity as something is going on with the eye wall!   Maybe something more like 45-75 mph now.  Shall see. Expecting to lose power.  My lines are all buried but they are overhead oh the block behind me.  My neighbors pool is now full of water and she expects it to flood!  Unfortunately it slopes toward the house.
Eagles, nice to read about your short get away!
Baz, dtay safe   And dry!   May see you later if I have working devices!
Thanks for the rainbow picture , Clynn!   Bl, maybe

The worst of the rain at the center of Idalia is now approaching Karen - forecast is 8 inch for her location. - winds are beggining to drop, but still over 75 near the center.  13k power outages in Georgia now.
