Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, sweet good night pic... Very interesting that your MIL designed crochet kits and had a needlework shop! Hopefully you have the directions! I bet she made many beautiful items, so wonderful that you have some of them to cherish....  I crocheted many an afghan, I have saved one just because it is so 70's - Harvest Gold, Loden Green and Burnt Orange, the signature colors of the early 70s!

kb, I can imagine the snow you are having, I lived 2+ years in Duluth...  ::) But the ice is another story... and it takes so long to melt... Our snow from Thursday is almost gone, thanks to 50+ temps for the weekend. Sorry you have another storm to endure, hopefully it will be the last... Beautiful wolves!

baz, great pics of the little ones, glad to hear Lil' Punkin must be doing well in the trial. No news is good news! Lil Brother is a hoot! Another good dinner, you are spoiling yourself!  Good for you!

Bella was such fun yesterday, I had all her presents sitting on the toybox, she waited patiently through dinner... Her excitement as she opened present was priceless, I tried to capture some of it. When it came to the gift bag full of clothes she wasn't too interested, she threw them out one by one, then the big present!

Erin sent me this picture of Bella after they got home:

Phyl, I love hearing the old sayings, like conniption fit, fiddle-fart, lolligag...  Wait, I thought HD and HM were settling in N1!! Now they are working on N2B? No more eggs at Sauces?  The hummers nest is chock-full!  Handsome Newman!

tsk, I have done some needlepoint in my cross stitch days!  I know you treasure your Mom's work...  I remember my Mom using embroidery paints when we lived in Germany. Cathy and I got into them and got some on one of the upholstered chairs. Mom made us show Dad what we did when he got home! The apartments were base housing, the furniture belonged to the base. I was 4, Cathy was 3...  Off the track again...  ::)

Lisa, I also hope the goose family will be allowed to stay! Have there been any other eagles seen on N2B?  Seems like it may be unclaimed this year? Love the very beautiful and regal picture of Mother Goose!

EagleCAM - Sydney Sea Eagles - 20th February, 2023 -  Lady and Dad paid us a visit yesterday morning, close to seven weeks since we last saw them.

Sue Bruhling - I thought we all need a Great Start to our Sunday!!! Something that makes your Heart Smile ❤
E21 sitting below Little E22!! ❤ Sibling Love Times Cuteness Overload ❤ ❤ ❤ I pray for these two everyday & Mighty M... Thank You! Barb Henry Photography for sharing Your picture with us! ❤

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE

32  heading to 48.  Mostly sunny

BAZI   What a way to start my day  ;D ;D  How cute is that Punkin playing the drum  ;D  Love her little dress  :) and it looks like she has more hair too.  Laughed out loud at Lil Bro  What a character  ;) ;)  Thanks for those.  Your dinner sounded yummy.

LANI  Would love to have gone through MIL's shop  ;D ;)  Two loving buddies snuggling last night  :)

BL  That map says it all  :o :o :P

BISCHUE   Yikes!!!  You live in a beautifully wooded area with a long enough drive not to slide into the street.  How did you manage to get up the slight icy hill from the car without falling??  You are so blessed to have Ross with you.

PHYL  A visitor to Charlo  ;) ;)   Interesting to see HD and HM on N2B  They are sensing someone in their territory!

CLYNN  You captured some good b-day pics  :)  Now that was the doll she saw being made right?  Love Erin's pic  ;D  I'm unfamiliar with "embroidery paints" ?  I Googled them but not familiar at all.    Love Sue's E21 and E22  :)

Clynn reference Decorah nests,  seems to me,  like this is 2022 sequencing  all over again.
Hmmm...Well on the other hand, I could be off on my ID's. And this is intruding pair. Talk about a 'soap opera' then.  :o

Nice AM greetings; from you photos, Bella sure had lots of fun yesterday. In a few years, clothes will be all she thinks about LOL. Her Amer Girl doll looks great. She looks so pleased.  Tks for Sue's report on E21/22 the kids look great. Sydney Sea Eagles, Lady and Dad are looking great. Hope we see more of them.

Tsk tks for reminder on Presiden'ts  Day--ever since 'they' changed the birthdays to that it's lost it meaning for me.  Your temps are warming.Pets to Lu.
Re: Decorah nest  ;)     At Charlo nest: I saw the GHO  and was surprized. But evidently this fellow is a sort of regular .

In yester days, embroidery paints were called "Liquid Embroidery' and were a popular item at Lee Wards and other craft stores and their cataloges. Seems like I've left one out.My late mother and I much prefer using the floss (thread). Like you, I've kept what I am able of her sewing, knitting, and crocheting, embroidery work. It's scattered throughout the house and tucked in a drawer in our bedroom too with some of my  maternal grandmothers /greatgrand mothers which I have a framed in museum mounting.

The weekend wasn't long enough   :(
All the lefovers are gone---now what's for dinner tonight? LOL

tsk, I found this interesting picture! Early 50s.  That is the doll I got on eBay, so now she has twins, except the one she got in Chicago has pierced ears!

Phyl, a soap opera indeed!

I went to the Y very early this morning to beat the snow. I didn't quite beat it. I'll have to drive home in it. Just a little today and it will be warm but preparing for the next few days.

LisaG - I am doing a little catching up, as I didn't get on here last evening - we watched a movie, then there was something on tv to watch, so went to sleep after that.  Nice pic of the goose on N2B - same nest they were on last year - wonder if it will work out for them again.

Lani - Like your little vid (posted yesterday morning).  Hope you & family are enjoying a nice holiday weekend  :)

Tsk - So special that you still have needle point your Mom made.

Baz - Sounds like your littlest GN has been very busy!! Thank you for the wonderful pics - especially playing the drum! ;D

BL - Good info for Kb!

Kb - You are so smart to be well equipped with enough food & wine to last you a while - all of you stay warm & safe.  Good that you are on the snowplow list - even tho you are at around number 31.   Beautiful morning pic - cute pups!!

Blschue - Yikes, your driveway looks so dangerous - glad you are so careful and so thankful that you have Ross with you!

Phyl - Like your cute morning gif.  Jim went into work very early - hope he gets off early too  ;)   I watched the fledging of the baby geese last year, and it really was intense - heart wrenching too. :'(   As much as I tried not to get attached to watching them, I did . . . .
Beautiful cliff view at Great Spirits Bluff.  Sweet Newman  ;D   Thanks for all wonderful nest pics.   Darling little hummers getting 'bigger'!

Clynn - Wonderful birthday pics!!!  It is so heartwarming to see Bella's happy little face with her gifts - especially with her Big special doll!! ;D ;D   Thanks for posting precious pic of E21 & E22 and thank you to Sue and Barb Henry Photography.   Like the vintage pic of the Liquid Embroidery demonstration. :)

Tsk - All of you have a great day  :)

Tig - Good thing you went to the 'Y' early - enjoy your day - maybe stay in and watch a movie on tv?

Hi Lori & Destini  :)

Oldguy - Did you have to work today?

Beakers have a wonderful day  :)

It was a short weekend for work - kept busy, so the time went fast - lots of big money sales, which should help get some more hours...

Lost both games of cards on Sat. - for the first time in a long time, we had a hand that was so bad that we lost points.. :P

This morning the deck has gone from 10.5 inches to 1 inch - some areas of the yards are now bare - we have rain forecast for Wed., but the next snow is 1 week away.  Much of the week is going to be with highs in the 40s - expecting 51 today.

Good Morning/AfternoonBeakers

Morning kb, tig, oldguy and all  :)

tsk & Lani - I have never been crafty, but Mama is, and she loves to sew.  One of the last things she made before she said I am not sewing anymore, is an Heirloom Christening gown to be passed down to all the grands. She also made me a beautiful smocked hat, if I ever had a granddaughter, and now I will have one to give it to.

baz - Awww, look at Punkin, she is getting so big and Baby bro, too!

Lani - Love your good night pic, so sweet.

blschue - Oh my gosh, your driveway!

Phyl - I hope its Mother Goose too, but hmmm, I am wondering if HM & HD are going to allow them to return.  Great snaps from the cams.

clynn - Great pics from Bella birthday.  I watch DE every day, and I have not seen any other eagle or eagles that have visited N2B.  HM & HD went to N2B this morning, and what a treat that was to see!  I was like...Oh no, HM & HD aren't gonna be happy another eagle is landing near by, till I saw it was HD!   ;D

tsk - Thanks for the reminder about President's Day, but I should have known....Jeff is here with me today!

E4E - I didn't get around to saying my good night's in here last night either, then we started watching Silver Streak that we have recorded on DVR.  It's one of our favorite movies.

HM and HD keeping an watchful eye on their kingdom this President's Day!

Good morning Beakers!
Morning Blschue, Lilbro, Lori, Clynn, Tsk, Lisa, Oldguy, Puff, Eagles, Kb, Tig, Baz, Phyl, Peep, Jaspurr, Pink, Jilltosa, Karen, BL, Eburg, Weasel, Ezee, Bggolden, T40, ssrl, Maxie, and All!

Lisa, Such a treasured gift the Heirloom Christening gown made by your mama will be for your grandchildren. Is she in New Orleans yet?  ;D

Oldguy, Love Lesley, she's another angel of St Francis, her devotion to the birds is inspiring, especially Dimi. I think she's right about the moose. The moose knows her scent and does't feel threatened. I hope Dimi returns. "To accept the things we cannot change" and "nature is nature" is a hard lesson for us all. Too bad about the cards and thanks for the links.

Eagles, we've had a working weekend. Mike busy designing new piping for the Gila Bend plant. By the way, a Barred Owl has taken over one of their sheds and has 3 owlets in the nest. Aly busy writing client reports and I'm prepping for the convention, registration opens March 15th.

Tsk, you would have loved mom's shop. The smell of the yarns, canvases, but especially the table and chairs she had set out for friends to stop by with their needlework, sit and visit. She always had a pot of coffee brewing. There was a small bakery/sandwich cafe nearby that added to the comfortable atmosphere.

Clynn, wonderful pics of birthday pics of Bella and her beautiful doll and with her dad  ;D. ... MIL had a needlepoint shop, we carried crochet kits for customers who ordered them, but she didn't design them. She and her in-shop artist hand painted needlepoint canvas to create kits or special designed requests. I could paint needlepoint canvas projects for small jobs, like for KU or K-State alumni (or if you wanted a designs for a child's room, kitchen, bathroom, Christmas ornaments) I painted a lot of Jayhawks. I've never used embroidery paints. My paternal grandmother embroidered I have several of her pieces, she crocheted as well ... beautiful capture of the Sydney Sea Eagles.

Phyl, nice pics

blschue, your driveway looks daunting :(. .. Ross is a blessing, you both take care.

Kb, BL is right that looks like a real humdinger! You, Chris and Ollie man take care (and hopefully, you can restock your pantry for next week) We're getting more snow this Weds thru Friday... and then again next week.... 3 wolves don't have a care in the world.  :)

PHYL   That's so funny I've never heard of Liquid embroidery - But I never had a loom either  LOL

CLYNN   Oh, I didn't realize she had two dolls. Can you change the earrings in the pierced ears doll?   Forgot about the doll you got on Ebay  One lucky kid  ;) ;)  That add is so funny.  In 1955 I was in 2nd grade so am not sure I would have been exposed to the "art". ;D

OLDGUY   Awww  Love your pet day  ;)   "Boo" on your night of cards. ( Kind of like not guessing the word in Wordle)  Keeps you humble.  LOL    Story of Dimi - Amazing what Lesley goes through to keep her bird family going.  I would probably be the same once you get so attached...  The over head views of the olive field - WOW

LISA   What a treasured gift from Mama.  How is she enjoying N.O?

LANI   Busy working morning for you all.  Did Aly decide about the Oregon job?   Barred owl and family at Gila Bend  LOL

((Blschue)) yep... looks like your trees shade the drive. No fun...
((KB)) ... no "whine" here... just the hard stuff. LOL !!! I texted my roof "guy" this a.m. to get on the schedule for Sat. Maybe Camper will run the shovel a bit later for the bits that don't melt.

When we drove up near the river the other day and stayed in the car, a dozen ducks and a couple geese crawled out of the water up onto the ice and walked toward us. They must be conditioned to expect handouts from folks. We disappointed them.

If you can't make it to NOLA... here is the next best thing. My Bro and SIL drove to the American Banjo Museum in Oklahoma City over the weekend to join the fun. The whole session is fun, see my "relies" starting at 2:17:10  . Mardi Gras at the Museum:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKcW4DCsi3M   If you look closely you can see Bro's right hand is swollen (from a fall on the ice last week). That is why he is playing his washboard instead of the upright bass. He had to use larger thimbles.

Lani & tsk - I have a pic of the Heirloom Christening dress, but the pic does not do it justice.  This is my brother Kerry's daughter in the pic wearing it.

tsk & Lani - Mama is parading it up!   ;D

kb - Good job on the snow removal.  Hope you are pacing yourself.
