Bl, you could be right!  The rain was steady for a long time with very few gaps!   We did not have thunder or lightening!  Wind not bad either.  Hope all do as well!   Thanks!

Yup, they do. Bob, John, George... sometimes after celebrities. It is an inventory thing for them. A guy told Camper an older couple have come for years and always pick their tree by the name... no matter what it looks like!

I got the email as I'm part of their 'virtual guest' program for all the space missions and launches. I even have a NASA Passport ...yeah kinda funny when you talk about it.  ::)  There are over 4,000 participants from Tennessee alone  to date.  Finally gonna get my 'wish' and venture in to Space who knows who I might 'meet'. LOL
Any way ... I signed on, hypnened name and all.   I'm so excited.  Just 'over the moon' about it.  ;D

Message starts off...
Calling All Virtual Guests: Send Your Name to Jupiter’s Moon Europa

NASA’s Virtual Guest Program invites YOU to join the Message in a Bottle campaign and sign your name to a poem written by the U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón that will fly to Jupiter's ocean moon Europa. The poem connects the two water worlds—Earth and Europa, one of the most promising currently habitable places in our solar system.

Participant names will be etched on microchips mounted on NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft! Europa Clipper is set to launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in October 2024, and by 2030, it will be in orbit around Jupiter. It will gather detailed measurements to determine if Europa has conditions suitable for life.

How Your Name Will Fly Aboard NASA’s Europa Clipper

Go behind the scenes in the Microdevices Laboratory at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California to see how your name will be sent to Jupiter’s moon Europa as part of NASA’s “Message in a Bottle” campaign.
Potential for Life
Jupiter’s moon Europa shows strong evidence for an ocean of liquid water beneath its icy crust. Beyond Earth, Europa is considered one of the most promising currently habitable environments in our solar system.

Good Morning Beakers!

Lani, a very happy reunion for Sadie and Dewey! So glad to hear that Aly made it home for Christmas! Didn't know Mike has to be gone for a few days! At least he will be home in plenty of time for Christmas! Erin sent a cute video of the Siamese kittens, I wish I could post it! All 5 of them are having a ball playing with each other! Darling puppies in the boots! Recipe for the Cheddar Bay Biscuits: https://damndelicious.net/2014/02/03/red-lobster-cheddar-bay-biscuits/  Or you can buy the mix at most grocery stores or Sam's.

tig, so cute that the Tree Farm names the trees!

karen, is your back yard a lake? I can just see piper taking a look and turning around!

E4E, yes, we had a fun time opening presents with the kids!  I didn't get many pics, it was too hectic, as it usually is with young kids!  And Bella was sitting right next to me, I only got one good shot of her when she sat on the coffee table for a bit! I wish I had told Ed to take some pictures, she squealed when she opened her package of Squishmallows!

The big present is an Air Hockey Table!

Phyl, absolutely beautiful Winter Walk in the 365! Thanks for the 2023 Highlights, will watch it with my second cup of coffee! Cute Elf family! Love the Peace angel! Cool on the NASA program, will check it out after RRP highlights! Thanks, looks interesting!

tsk, we have a restaurant with Igloo Dining here in West Des Moines, I think there are a few others in Iowa as well! https://www.barntownbrewing.com/igloo

kb, great Minnehaha comparison!

HI BEAKERS

KAREN   Rain is good. Storms are not.  ;)

TIG  So funny - naming trees.

LANI   We brought Lulu home in the first week of January and I had my puzzles going already.  She had so much to explore she didn't pay too much attention to it.  Today - she laid on the card table and watched me put pieces together. - Thankfully she did not help and the puzzle was small so she had room.  LOL  Glad to have Aly and Dewey safely home. Dewey smelling the pines - I believe it.

PHYL   Interesting NASA project for you  ;D

CLYNN  Those Cheddar Bay biscuits are to die for.   My greats will be opening Squishmallows this Xmas too  LOL
I'm always amazed at how many celebrities pass during the year.  Like the idea of renting a tree in a pot .

Morning all!

Lani - I love the story of Dewey "smelling" my second home is near!
Dogs are so frigging smart.

Clynn - Love the white decorated Christmas tree. I sometimes spend way too much time scrolling through multiple fb pages of pictures of Christmas trees decorated, some by professionals.
I haven't tried to haul my beautiful flocked artificial tree that rotates and is lit out of the garage since Scott passed. Instead I put up a 3 foot fiber optic one. One of these days? maybe.
BTW - looks like you might have needed a whole roll of Christmas paper to wrap that large present :)

Brr. it's only 16 above today...with a very strong North wind...scratching a walk with Ollie and a few outdoor projects...nope.

Funny thinking about hiking/walking in MN winters. At 50 years of age we limited our adventures to no colder than 11 above. 20 plus years for me now I limit them to close to 21 above...er um, 5 years warmer per decade!.LOL In another 20 years I'll have to move to Florida!...at age 91 or so.

Royal Albatross ~ LGL & BOK Have Front Row Seats To An Albie Party! Closeups of LGL 💕 12.17.23

LGL (Lime Green Lime) is on her nest and her neighbor BOK (Blue Orange Black female) is on her nest when a party of non breeders fly in and decide to socialize and have a party! Looks like at least 6 maybe 7 on the ground/air as they come to meet one another with skycalls and bill taping. The two Mom's don't bother to get up - they remain on their eggs. The non breeders will stay for a few more weeks as they make their acquaintances and hopefully future partners.

On another note, the Royalcam chick of 2016  Moana has been banded! She is yellow A55. Moana is one of the non breeders that has returned this season to try and find a mate like Tumanako and some of the adults who are bereaved and looking to find love again. Looks like Top Flat is going to be full of action this season!

You may notice that the grass is high between LGL and BOK's nest. The DOC has decided to not trim the grass but to leave it natural allowing for some privacy for BOK & WYL as they attempt to hatch their first egg. Thank you for watching!
