I almost typed 'Purr' this morning and corrected myself.
Yes. I love tea too. I save the coffee for the weekend--Friday thru Sunday.
Sad to read about your pneumo and your sinuses  and lack of taste.

Puget Sound just west of Seattle.

I read just yesterday that Orca pods have been learning new tactics and more boats/yahts have been attacked lately. One yaht was sunk in the Strait of Gibraltar..no humans were hurt.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1586773579240120320 The bond between a mother orca and her calf.

Boy, I've been in a real battle with the leaves here...this is an unusually late large drop from all over, but thankfully we have just above average temps going forward to work it.

Mowed and blowed in front yesterday....hum, all leaves blown in from the west/northwest of neighbor tree.
Filled two 96 gallon containers plus 2 smaller ones and the wind blew in last night so strong it toppled over one of the 96 gallon tubs...unreal.
Furthermore, my yard is now full again. Not my trees.
Had Andrew out for the third time this season to empty gutters and have never had to do that before.
Lastly, my small engine repair guy can't fix my back yard mower till next spring. Too many snowblowers to fix at the moment. So I had to rake leaves in back yesterday.

Terribly frustrating.
Oh and nobody bothered to maybe stop and tip back up my container (at end of my driveway) including all neighbors who know me.
Oh well. I will take a plastic shovel out there at sun up and fix it. Maybe mow/bag more today although probably smarter to wait till tomorrow when the wind speed drops?

KB and others - I just got reminded, yesterday was the day of the ash trees.  Just as I said, all at once.  There are some leaves at the bottom of one but so few that they could actually be counted.  But that still leaves the crimson (ha ha play on words).  Past routine is that that tree won't be clear until January.

P

PS Made payment with my lawn guy - Extra this last check, but he will return.  Not to do anymore mowing, but to mow up the rest of the leaves, meaning the ash and the crimson.  Then....see me next year.

BL  Pip  I couldn't really understand much of Ralph rant - but he sure does have an attitude/opinion.  He learned that from who???

My dad trained a parakeet years ago.  Not as big or beautiful as your grays for sure.  Mikie's fav outburst, always loud and clear, was for S O B.

https://edition.cnn.com/2023/11/03/health/retro-walking-backward-exercise-wellness/index.html

I get the mechanics/advantages of this completely. Using different muscle groups/increasing balance etc. But, I am not sure how much you need to turn your head around to look for obstacles in the road so as not to fall?
Walking on the treadmill backwards has my head spinning as well.

Puff - disliking the taste of cilantro is a genetic thing. For those with a different gene it tastes like soap. For me, I could eat it on almost everything!...Not sure if I understand you correctly that you always disliked the taste or not. But this is why.

I picked up my container quite easily and added what fell out in a pile with my plastic shovel. It was just previously mulched with mower leaves and dry, so anyone could have tipped it upright.
Think I'll wait till wind dies down and these buckets emptied by Waste Management before I start all over again.
Puff- yes my Crimson has been dropping for awhile, but isn't over until often after the snow falls sometime in late Nov. or early Dec. But, for me it mostly drops straight down and is in the middle of my perennial gardens. I would prefer if the leaves for smaller and/or mulched but it is what it is. I do try and blow them when dry from garden to grass to mow up...but, inevitably come spring I have mats of wet leaves in the garden.

Not my pic but I was out back with Ollie at 4am and saw it myself in person...anyone else see it?..it was gorgeous and bright. That's venus with a crescent moon.

For fun a resident asked AI to create our city picture based on frequent happenings/comments on our fb page: For context there are many Target shopping carts left anywhere, loose dogs everywhere, and roundabouts are ubiquitous, as many as 5 in a few blocks on one street...left out: all the loose cats.

unfortunately another loose dogs attacked another leashed one. Two loose rotties bit the leashed one:

Good morning Beakers! I’m sad to read N1 has been abandoned!   Part ogf the charm of Decorah was that nest and the views of the farm, the water, etc!  Of course, the eagles as well! I keep expecting M15 to leave his current location as that tree is looking pretty ratty!

Very foggy mornings in Valdosta as of late!  Am very happy about the weather overall!  Not climate change but our current temps!
I am sure most of you have read the article on this years very strong El Nino!  It is thought that our winter weather patterns will be quite different!  Tge upper midwest will not get much snow for one thing!  Look it up begore you buy new snow boots or book a ski trip!
My landscapers were here yesterday and did a lot!   The roses the old guy planted were not doing well and they were trimmed and fertilized!   Hope this saves them as they were beautiful plants!  They edged the sidewalk with liriope, replaced all the front shrubs with a new kind, Pittosporum.  The old ones, Indian Hawthorn had reached the end of their lifespan!
Not much new here. All is good!

Royal Albatross ~ Albies Returning & Waiting For Their Mates! YWK Is Home & So Is BWK 💕 11.4.23
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQUbnV9Ppdc

Nov 4, 2023
The albatross continue to come in and wait for their mates or find a new love this season. 💕 It appears that YWK *Yellow White Black) is back home! For those unfamiliar with his history - he is the older brother of our dear OGK and also the Dad of GLY 💕 He and his mate KGY are the parents of the Royalcam chick Moana back in 2016  - so this is exciting news to see him back safely.
Also BWK flies in and walks past the cam.

There is also an albie that continues to wait in this same spot for it's mate hoping for a reunion. It calls out with skycalls as it waits as other albies fly overhead. It is too far away to see any bands but it is not YRK because it does not have a tiara on its head. As we are now in November, this is the time for the pairs to begin posturing and preening one another and ultimately mating and preparing a nest. Hopefully this albie and all the others that are without a mate will find love and have their dreams come true with the laying of a beautiful egg - the light of the future of the colony! Thank you for watching!
