Morning pics from Decorah - HM was ready to get up and stretch her wings, before heading back to eggs and incubating a bit longer. And, a beautiful sunrise over the bluffs

Lisa, looks like I caught almost the same sunrise moment!
HD is about to molt one of his feathers -- on the right side, see in pic -- Is this a "cover" feather?

Windy afternoon, in one pic HM is facing away from the wind and her wing feathers look like an inside-out umbrella.   ;D

Things look all OK at N1 this morning.

I forget which limb HD is perching on in the first pic below.

Lisa, That's a great pic of the pileated woodpecker!  They are large, crow-sized birds. Find it on the rewind at 9:00 when HD on the nest starts looking around for the noises. It's a different view of the T1 branch than we usually see.  Thanks to cam ops for the grand views.

View of the eggs after HD takes off.  HM is waiting her turn on the T1 branch, then looking fine on the nest.

Ginger - Cool name for the frost sparkles!

angelolady - Thanks!

STL - Thanks....there was one that visited my backyard this weekend.  I was in the kitchen washing dishes, and seen it fly up to my Silver Maple in the middle of my yard. It was pecking away at a branch near the top, and I could see some bark come off the tree.  I tried to be quiet going out to get a pic, but as soon as I got out the backdoor it flew off.   :(

Great pics, STL

Those eggs are still pretty clean looking.   :)

then the eggs "stood" alone during 2 to 4h. A little bit afraid as just before i Followed Big Bear where the eggs also "stood" alone  a couple of hour but it was alqo freezing.. No more eggs now the ravens made their job with the two non viable eggs.

and around 01h 03-15, HM is back on her eggs and she is still incubating at 04h00
