Nice pics from this morning, STL.  When that subadult flew off of DN12's Tree branch it went after some geese floating in the stream.  It made another pass and as it approached, the geese bunched together and made themselves look bigger and honked.  Their maneuver succeeded and the sub flew on to perch on the BPT.

Ginger, Thanks for the notes about the sub-a activities.  I'm going to the rewind to watch it now.  Geese as prey would be a challenge for any eagle.  (found the episode)  And the hunting attempts were worth searching for!  Couple pics here, but it's way better on the video.  Find the closeup view of the sub-a, and two more swoopings follow with views of the geese.

Deer active again this morning, all does that I saw. Cam ops got some really nice closeups of cud-chewing time.

The Norths spent the night close together on the Love Branch. About 6AM they woke and twittered and flew off towards the creek. Around 9:30, DNF brought a long stick to the nest, fiddled with it, made loud calls. MrN was on the bank of the creek.

Nice nest work around 1:00 this afternoon, new sticks and cornstalks to move from here to there.  Looks like they are railing off the patio area.

Deer spent most of the day in the area near the nest.  Cam ops provided furry closeups with pic from Phyl.

Phyl, that overnight spot seems to be the North's favorite.  All morning they have been gathering and placing new nest materials, mostly long sticks.

Nice pics this morning, STL.

Here's a gif from GABear of Mr. North pole vaulting that big, long stick into the nest.

The Norths are busy this morning bringing sticks and grasses to the nest.  There's a classroom chat going on, what a treat for students to watch the eagles live!

Earlier some long-distance views of coyote, and deer at the creek and several more under the nest area.  A chickadee visited the nest, and a red-bellied woodpecker that was too fast for a pic.
