Mid-afternoon, MrN brought a wad of grass to the nest, then went to Left Side Branch to preen [no pic]. He returned to the nest and was hassled by the grackle, so moved to a brushy tree area to the south for more preening. Lo and behold, a young adult BE came to a Love Branch and perched there for a long while. At the same time, MrN was peacefully preening on the other side of the nest, not really far away.
Afternoon closeup view of a grackle on the basement nest. Can't see any eggs here yet.
