"Stand Off !
March 25, 2025

Yesterday, after we arrived back home from doc's I found this little drama going on.
Once  I snapped the picture. I stood and watched for a while longer then each took off
going their separate way in opposite directions.

Left, Dad Mocking bird and on the right, Dad Bluebird.

My husband, Jim, is usually the one to photograph the Cane Ridge Bluebirds during their nesting season.
However, he's been in hospital for he past 10 days due to a heart  condition.
Hopefully, shortly after his discharge tomorrow PM. He'll be in a 'snapping ' mood.
And, get a few snaps of our wonderful pair. We haven't seen much of them lately.
So who knows what may have befallen them.
I sure hope all's well.

It'll be pot luck whatever we do get on digital. And, will post ASAP!

Jim took a peek in at nesting box #1 and found this past Thursday   and found this...

...as he's been in hospital  and with my balance issues I didn't dare check the box earlier for activity and
record the date the egglet was laid.

But, as of today the egglet is still alone with no one to incubate. Our educated guess is that the egg is either
non-viable or someone has been messing with the box and frightened the birds  causing them to
abandoned the nest.
So Jim cleaned out the old used nest and discarded the egglet.
No activity has been seen by either of us since 4-10-25.
TRhere fore the 2025 nesting season starts over.

Please pray for this nest and that no one or no 'thing' has been disturbing the nesting boxes.
