6:57 Oh well.
A little warmer here.  25 degrees at 10:19. It looks foggy, but is really a little snow in the air.
About two inches of new snow.  Just enough to make it look pretty outside.
I don't know what to say about that picture of two dogs looking into the wide open fridge. LOL  I think someone is having fun with us.  The little dogs could not open the fridge or drag over the stool.  SOOO.
Doc has again produced a very interesting and visually satisfying update in spite of the sad news about Bob Donner.  GBU Bob. Thank you Doc. You brighten our day.  You too Cal.  120/80 was always my goal, but I hear lately that even this old goal is now thought to be on the high side by the medical profession.  However, I am glad to see my numbers if anything below 140/90.
Glad to hear Cali is improving.  It is hard to treat foot sores for obvious reasons, but you are doing it.  Keep it up. GBU Cal.
Nick is wrestling out of town this morning.  He had to be on the bus at 5am.  Debbie, Brian, and Odin will be there in Greenwich, Ohio, but I will miss this bout.  I will be staying in today.  I will go around the block for the mail once or twice.  I need to mail some bills.  Not sure if I will walk or drive yet.
On GSB Cam there are people ice fishing IN THE LOCK I think.  Those should be some very hungry fish from being locked up all winter.
Bye for now EV1.  GBU, Israel, Ukraine, and those who are suffering.

4:59 Nice here.  No new snow to shovel. I am good.  Caddy is sold, but for some reason we have to wait until next Friday to finish up.  I hope nothing happens in between.  It is hard for me to shovel around it, and if it were gone the plows would do my drive for me.  All this snow is hard on the elder generation.  I heard from Mary how she has been shoveling a lot.  She lives on a corner in the city and has to clear both front and side walks and her driveway.  It is a lot I know, because I used to live on the next corner north of her.  I used a Toro snow blower.  Even then it was a job.  Mary is a worker and likes to garden herself, but this is really I think too much for her.
Need to go now Debbie is asking for help printing something for Brian's friend Marcie.

Hi cal, Is Dr Buzzard your PCP? It's puzzling why he didn't prescribe a BP med for you since you're having issues. Are you going to try to see a different doctor?
I hope you not feeling good and also getting migraines gets resolved for you soon.

5:49 Good morning.  Had to go out early.  Odin is sick and needed a ride to Debbie's.  Then I went to get new glasses.  They are really hard to leave on. Everything is a blur, and I am getting a headache. Not a good deal for $311 and not even new frames.
I am not comfortable right now.  So I will leave and CUL EV1 GBU

i forgot last night i watch david muir on world news those awful fires but showing all the poor animals taken to shelter and vet for burns and all the cost of that and dogs missing their homes and their owners i cried my eyes out showing planes boarding up dogs flying them to other states for shelter and adoption i cant adopt any i sure would but i can donate some money we can do without some stuff.

Amid the ongoing wildfire emergency in Southern California, volunteer pilots helped clear shelters in the region to transport animals to opportunities for new forever homes in Oregon and Seattle over the weekend.

Wings of Rescue, in partnership with Paws for Life K9 Rescue, transported animals surrendered to five city shelters and seven county shelters in the Greater Los Angeles area before the onset of the wildfires in order to make room for pets who have been separated from their families during the fire and need temporary shelter.

Sunday, a jet loaded with 39 dogs and 18 cats arrived at King County International Airport/Boeing Field (KBFI) in Seattle. The flight was met by volunteers from Seattle Humane, which provides pet adoption services along with a pet food bank and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and wellness exams.

Seattle Humane has shelters around the state and connections across the country to help animals in need. By relocating the animals to other states it will allow California shelters to "focus on reuniting displaced pets with their families," it said on its website.

“All [Los Angeles] shelters were facing overcrowding before the fires hit,” said Brandon Macz, spokesperson for Seattle Humane. “Animal control cannot get into the fire-ravaged areas yet because it is too dangerous to go back there.”

Macz said most of the rescue flights are done because of shelter overcrowding, but they also respond to disasters, noting they did flights prompted by Hurricane Ian and the Maui, Hawaii, fires.

Hi Cal,  I have been expecting some action by Amy for some time. I am very glad it is good news. I think that with your animal kindness history and publishing Doc's update we are obviously supportive of RRP and their goals.  Especially the Decorah North and GSB cams.
I really miss the several cams that were in CA where I first saw the geese jumping from the abandoned, I think, hawk's nest and the other cams like the barn owl cam.  I have not been able to find those cams for a few years. I don't know why, because I am not good at speaking on the forums.  I was beside myself with delight when I found that the Vulture Cam was back. Yay!
I have been looking at the map of CA this morning.  My relatives live in Larkspur, Santa Cruz, and I think Santa Barbara.  I pray they are safe. I found that Larkspur is only 43 FEET!!!! above sea level.  What if global warming raises the sea level as some have predicted? Yikes.
I will go do the puzzle now while enjoying my second cup of coffee.  Be well.  I shovel very slowly and am in good health.  Try not to worry.
GBU CUL EV1 GBU and especially those in danger and injured in any way.
Did the puzzle and finished my coffee.  It was cold. Time was not too bad for having new glasses.  Took me 5:49.  A little better than avg. Glasses are working a little better than at first this morning.  I have to blink now and then, but I guess that is to be expected.  They go blurry every few seconds.  I need to get used to holding my head just right to use the correct lens.  I won't give up, because I feel I might be damaging my eyes by going without my glasses for years at a time.  I am not sure this is true.
Well goodbye again GBU and especially bless the fire victims human and otherwise.  Domestic and wild too.

I Love Dogs
  ·
Patrick Swayze once said, "They told me my house smelled like dogs, and I asked them, do you know what a dog smells like? It smells like gratitude, loyalty, nobility, affection, pure unconditional love. And in spite of all they've been through, they smell no resentment. So blessed that my house smells like dogs."

Isn't this the perfect reminder that true blessings can't be measured by society's standards? Patrick Swayze captured what we seasoned dog mamas have known all along - that a house filled with the presence of our faithful companions is really filled with love, not just "dog smell." When our hearts are full of joy and gratitude from our four-legged angels, who cares what others think about our homes? After all, the most precious things in life can't be seen, but they can surely be felt... and sometimes smelled!

hi you guys its 6 here 12 in longyear 46 and raining in ice. so we went to dr buzzards yesterday afternoon. i was nervous so got in his room. maria his nurse was in there and extra nice too. she took my bp said it was little high but said it would be up cause i was here. she never told us what it was.  oh earlier before we left i had changed my clothes put on clean jeans shirt clean socks but had one pink sock and one white sock and i went out to the barn got down to fill up water bowl for the mice in hay dust and dirt so white sock now brown sock. oh well i thought not like dr will be down there  so dr buzzard came in and he as smiling being so nice i thought who is this?  course jim sitting next to me. so jim told him i was having those really bad headaches like migraine  then dr was asking if it made me throw up no but i could not stand any kind light was wearing dark wraparound sunglasses in the house could not stand noise jim told him he gave me one of his bp pills i told dr after about 6 hours no more headaches and bp went down to 130's he told jim i am suppose to make her feel better well i thought you had your chance. he said he was going to prescribe that same bp medicine for me but not 5 mg 10mg i had told him i feel better if it is lower than that low like jims is now 117/68 he asked  if i had any swelling in my ankles and he was looking at my ankles with the dirty socks i told him i live in the barn too. he reminded me his dad was a vet and i did remember that in iowa. just being so nice and stuff. he said if i get those headaches when bp is good then a cat scan to see if i have a brain tumor but i was probably okay yes bp pill no headaches. we left and when we got out of there jim said like night and day yes he was so nice today. jim said bs he should be nice all the time to all his patients. so i will take my two in an half hour see what happens. oh dr was asking me if his shot helped my knee at all i said it is about the same he kept on about my knee jim said she came for her bp today. when she tore her meniscus  ortho dr told me that her knee was pretty well shot probably need a new one. he also fixed mine same time i did well with mine.  i will never have him give me a shot again.  big relief getting thru all that and out of there.

Lost my time, but it was over 6 minutes.
Very cold this morning.  Only 11 degrees at 9:08. Two coffees and cereal already on board.
Caddy still in the drive.  Could not do any thing with it yesterday.
I did get Odin home, and let Duffey and Abby outside.  Odin seemed a little sick to me.  Just wanted to sleep on the couch.  Must have been a hard day for him at school.  I let Brian know.  Did not hear anything this morning yet.  So I guess Odin made it to school all right, and I will get him this evening.
Sounds like your doctor visit went the way you hoped for.  I was amused at your sock story.  I heard recently that odd colors are an "in" thing, but not Brown. LOL.
No idea what is coming today, but I am ready for it.
