cal,I got this in the mail today and I  thought of you.  I contribute to the St. Joseph's Indian School to help the children of the Lakota tribe (Sioux) whose parents barely survive on the reservation.

Cal, I watched the generator video. You will certainly have peace of mind knowing that thing is waiting to kick on whenever your power goes off! I'm so glad you got it! Thanks for the info on Ra.  I'd be going nuts without my internet. I'm finally using my new laptop now since Crow was able to make everything on it just like my old laptop! I'd send Ra my old one if it wasn't dying.  This afternoon I was weeding my flower beds and I found more poison ivy! Glad I had on my garden gloves. Just hope I didn't get any on me! I don't know what Crow would do if someone he yelled at would actually stop and confront him! He's all bark and no bite now that he is old! Lol! He was a tough guy, or so he thought, when he was in high school! When I first met him I thought he was a thug! Lol!  Hope you get to watch Hyacinth tonight!

Jack is back over 2 weeks earlier than last year (July 24, 2015). We first met Jack in 2003 when he was already an adult, probably 6-7 years old, which would make him 19 or 20 today.Jack is back!

 He appeared around 7:30 AM today.

Actually, the last 24 hours have been interesting. Loppy can?t intimidate all the bears. Personalities vary. V-Dot (from last night?s update) is big but non-confrontational. Part of that might be that he is old and walks gingerly. I hated to see him have to run from Loppy two nights ago. Last night, Loppy was sitting in the V dot

driveway waiting his turn. I wondered why he didn?t just barge in and put the run on any impudent challengers. Then I saw a powerful bear at a feeder. It was too dark to tell who it was. I went out to get a closer look but still couldn?t tell. I couldn?t see the details of his face. Then he stood on his hind legs and showed me and I could see the big chest blaze that said it was Victor, who is almost as scarred up as Loppy. I tried to get him on the scale, but he was happy where he was. No wonder Loppy was showing discretion.

This morning, through the mist, V-Dot stayed at the edge of the woods sniffing the air for over a half hour before he decided it was safe to proceed. The picture through the mist is good enough to see the V and the Dot that gives him his name. I haven?t seen his teeth well enough yet, but I suspect he is old?probably over 20?and could be bowled over by a more agile bear like Lucky did to big Ted a few years ago. V-Dot is cautious. I tried to lure him onto the scale. He is not afraid of me but was reluctant to follow. Following would have put him closer to Drew, Bow?s black-faced son born in 2011.

A half hour later, I thought I?d try again. V-Dot wasn?t where he?d been. Drew was gone, and I mistook another bear for V-Dot. But when that bear turned to respond, it was Jack. What a nice surprise.

This evening, it is Burt, Jack, and Drew at the moment. V-Dot will probably be in later.

At the Bear Center, the staff, volunteers, and interns hid food all around the pond. They turned Holly and Lucky loose, and the hunt was on as was captured in this 3-minute video https://youtu.be/QJPZL68Sg00. Mid-afternoon, they played raucously in the pond as viewers ooed. Nice.

Out the window, I probably mis-identified the juvenile wood pewee in last night?s update. Today, I got a quick look at a similar-looking juvenile, probably the same bird, on the same branch, today, and it was wagging its tail, which would make it an Eastern Phoebe, which would be easier to believe in this area.

Also out the window, near sunset, this lame gull swooped in to land on one leg after waiting its turn for a piece of Eckrich Thick-sliced Bologna.

The first bear course starts a week from tomorrow, and the annual reunion at the LilyPad Picnic starts Friday, July 22 (http://www.lilypadpicnic.com).

Love david and allen! love good sunday one too. i overslept too but only 15 min. i was  watching the world news and thought it was earlier. next week hopefully your mri will show what is going on. hope so after you went thru getting that. royals won 5-3 we are still in 3rd place have an afternoon game today.

Cal, yes it's hard to make the bed when your Weimaraner won't move! Lol! Boo looked like that dog before he came to live with us. Now he is fat but happy!  Yep, your Hyacinth episode is behind mine now! Lol! I thought it was so funny when drunk Hyacinth was trying to talk and got all her words mixed up!  Good grief, all those older male bears are all beat up! Do they fight like that their entire lives? Always looking for a girlfriend? Poor old one eyed Jack. He is a handsome bear! Pretty cool about having Native American ancestry. Does Juanita live near by? Hope you get to go see her. I don't think I have ever met a Native American!

Cal, thanks for the puzzles and all the shames.  I tried to find one for you that day that too much was going on for you, but I could not recall what you already posted, etc.  So nothing from me    My goodness Cal, you sure are one busy girl.  I do not want to ever have to walk in your boots!  I think if we ever meet, I am going to check you out to see where you add the Energize bunny batteries, cause you are a super powerful woman!!  Jim is so lucky to have you to take care of everything that you do.  Happy belated anniversary to you both.

JP, I know you thought you were slow poking on that last puzzle, but I win the boobie prize again with 13:40.  That was with me trying really hard to try to get it done fast.  Made my head spin when I was done.  I am so happy to hear that you have some temporary relief of the pain and sure hope that the MRI helps your doctors figure out why the pain is there to begin with.  Since they have not called you right away, I take that as a good sign that they are not overly concerned with the findings.  I would think that if they found something ugly, the doctors would call you right back to the hospital.  You and your doctors will be in my prayers.  Do you have any idea what happened to Jack's eye?  He is so beautiful, I could just kiss that snout of his.     Thanks for the photo of Braveheart and cub!!!  That sure was a sweet photo of the two.

Nora, that was such a cute photo for Cal and Jim's day.  Put a big smile on my face.  Some artist took the time to make that.  I read somewhere that spraying deodorant on the area where the chiggers get to, will cause them to drop off.  Same with fleas and ticks.  I never tried that, but maybe your sister can use that bit of info.  Your Chester sounds like he really loves his forever home.  Thanks for being such a good Momma to Chester.

Hi Willi.  Glad to see you in the Jewelies.  I would not have known about the bling on both birds.  I have mixed feelings on that.  One part of me is curious at to where they will disperse and the other part of me hates to hear that they recovered their bodies.  I like to believe that the Diva is flying high and mighty with all the other eagles at the Hudson Bay

DLong, Sure hope your doctors can figure out what is causing all the exhaustion.  You may want to ask if should take some CoQ10 supplements.  My Mom is having the same issues right now, she has doctor appointment this week so if they recommend something holistic, I will pass that info on to you too.  I enjoy drinking a mixture of coconut water over ice, a splash of coconut milk, one dosage of Qunol liquid CoQ10 and one dosage of Floradix iron & herbs liquid extract formula.  It makes a wonderful "happy hour" drink for me.  Thanks for all the videos.  I would never think of petting a porcupine!!  LOL

blschue, what kind of bags are you sewing?  filter bags??  That is a lot of sewing 2000 bags.  No wonder you have no time to do anything else.   I really need to get some of our family photos scanned too.  I want to make a couple of photo books to give to the family members.  You know the kind that Walgreen's photo shop sells.  They are going to be this year's Christmas gifts from me to the family members.  I figure I will make different books for everyone, so that when us older folks pass, the younger ones will have something fun to look at then.  Don't worry, I am not going to tell them that, but that is what I will be thinking.   

Oh, Cal, one more thing: thanks for all those photos of the kittens.  They sure do look innocent and sweet.  What are you going to do with them?  You can't keep them in the bathroom much longer.  Will the run around outside and live in your barn to catch mice? 

OK, I know that more of you are reading the thread, so I say a big hello to you too!  I wish everyone a safe journey this week.  Things are a bit out of control in the good USofA right now.  I think back to the race riots of Detroit in 1967.  43 dead, 1,189 injured, over 7,200 arrests, and more than 2,000 buildings destroyed. I sure hope we don't go down that road again.  With the summer heat upon us, things always escalate quickly.  We lived very nearby those riots.  It was not a pretty sight.  I was a very scared child.  George Romney was our Governor at the time and called in the National Guard.  Johnson called in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.  My Dad was working for Allstate at the time.  The arson fires and looting cost the area big time.  I tried to look up the dollar amounts and can only find that it was between $40-$80 millions of dollars.  What I remember most is the cause and effect afterward on the children.  I never wanted to experience that again in my lifetime.  Regretfully, I lived in the Los Angeles area when the 1992 riots broke out.  Again, I could not understand the escalation of the violence even as an adult.  How can you reasonably argue against violence with violence??  I had hoped that after all these years, we could all make it better, but we have not.  I am deeply saddened at all the losses of life and senseless killings.  Thank you for letting me get this off my chest.

Hi Rues! hot again today. jim left for the ozarks well he is there now. be back saturday night. calling for severe storms tomorrow night well like at 3 am. big winds i sure do hope i don't lose my power and calling for storms every day this week till friday.  jim said be a couple of weeks before that is hooked up. his cement pad turned out good. Juanita lives close to sister. so not really far away take me maybe an hour and half to get there from here. i really want to see her. i need to just go and jim can watch the kids for a day. she has lots of stuff of moms she wants me have and i have pictures and questions to ask her about mom. she the only one now who can answer them.  her mom and dad lived with her when i was a kid. they lived in a real teepee on her land she has like 50 acres always had some horses. big tenessee walkers. her two kids a girl micky and a boy mike course not kids now like i am not but those big tall horses and mike could get up on that horse without a saddle we all rode without a saddle back then i got my first saddle when i was 21. steve and mom got it for me still have it in my library rode tuco with it. got another one for roxie cause jim rode her. then i did used tucos on roxie and jim used roxies on soda. anyway her mom and dad spoke Cherokee they taught us some words like horse was so-qui-li dog was gi-li and hello 0siyou sounds like oh see yo. that is all i remember. later when her mom and dad was older she had a mobile home put close to her house and they lived in that till they died. very nice people. juanita i think may still have a horse i do not know if she still rides she in her 80's.  i got pictures of her i should download some of her and mom riding.  i laughed so hard at hya trying to talk. that was a really funny show. they all are rues. love keeping up.

Hi Eaglette! i share your sadness with the riots and all this. no violence doesn't fix violence. i am so grateful to live in a little rural town pop 225. i may have to go to the city for stuff but then we can come home. i will keep them rotten chewing on my stocking feet kittens in the house now. never wanted or had an outside cat or dog. your right i will have to release them out into my bedroom but not yet they are still too little and i need to get them tutored first. my poor little corey dog. oh no more cats!! i know i am going all the time. no more pets. i said anymore cats i will take them to that shelter in richmond. keep that gate closed and nothing make it up the driveway. i got to have some life. got augie in here. jim gone and so augie hangs close to mom. dad gets back and back to dad. augie keeps his butt covered. the all star game coming to san diego july 12th. lots of royals be there our manager ned yost manager for the AL.

Rues i forgot them male bear beating each other up for a girl. you know they will do that as long as they can. seems like enough bears for everyone to have someone and not be fighting.

Hi, Jewelies! Cal, please don't send any storms my way! Sending lots of prayers that your power stays on since you don't have the generator installed yet!!!!  Not your ideal anniversary with all the work & poison ivy. Does the doc. give a shot if it gets too bad?  Mr. O & I will have our 55th next month, which means I've had my laptop for 5 years. Hang on, Dlong--surely they'll find out how to help you soon! Hope ra will be able to come back soon. I cut out soy butter & tortilla chips and lost 3 lb right away. I've lost 5 lb. and feel so much better--more energy, etc.  The Last Ship, which is on tonight, has really been intense. It keeps you glued to the screen. Hi, rues, nora, bischue, Eaglette, neva, and all you other Jewelies. Jp, hoping for good results on those tests you had done.

HI Obsver! I will try to not send them storms to you i don't want them here! jim gone again and here comes storms every day this week!! once that generator gets hooked up i will not be scared anymore. well tornado generator be flying away!! come back here you generator you!!  wow you and mr o been married a long time. yes last time i had this i had poison ivy poison oak and poison sumac the doc said. was working on fence with my shorts on and laying down in it did not know that and had it all over me and of course waited to see the doctor but dr. buzzards office so aggravating. wait in the lobby for a half hour then sit in that little office and i timed it for an hour!! sometimes longer and the doc spends a whole ten minutes with you. so when he said why did wait to come see me i told him. cause takes me 25 min to get here and i spend almost two hours waiting for YOU and then have to drive home. My time worth something too.  he didn't say anymore about that to me. yes i got a shot in my butt the stuff was white and them steriods really helped me too.

 , my mother-in-law used a bar of Fels Naptha laundry soap on poison ivy. She would use water as hot as she could stand it, lather with the soap, and she claimed it would help the ivy to dry. It's really hard to find that soap in stores now.  My mower died last week, and the part won't be in until Tues. Of course the grass is growing by leaps & bounds. Your horses would founder on it for sure.

No change in my status.  I am getting more able to twist my body into a less painful position more easily.  I am so bent, twisted, contorted, that I look like pretzel.  I'll be able to get a dob in the circus freak show.

A new week for us all to make the most of.  All Star game tomorrow, home run derby tonight.  Marlins have Stanton in the HRD and 4 players on the team.  Starting center fielder Ozuna and three pitchers.  I hope Jose Fernandez gets to start as pitcher.  I guess I will be up late watching the game Tuesday night.

My doctor follow-up is Thursday so I guess nothing heard before then means nothing major except the pain.  All things considered I should not complain because I am here to complain.  Does that make any sense?
