And a good Monday to you JP and all.  I only remembered because I had to bring in the now empty garbage can when I went out to walk Chester.  :D

Hi Jewelies!  Getting warmer around here...  Summer is very near!  I think the forum is finally fixed!  Amy posted in a couple of the threads that she thought it was.

cal... I hope you don't have those horrible storms in your area today!  I've heard you talk about a highway 35 and they were talking about that same road on the news tonight.  Are you getting any reading in, now that it's just you and your critters this week so far?  Polly will be here soon... again!  Man, the time flies!

Dlong... Hope you're ok, too!  Looks like some nasty storms!

Nora... Haven't you heard of blackened chicken before?  It's something like how you cook a steak (I think.  lol)... black on the outside and just right on the inside.  Her pasta was really good!  It had chopped tomatoes, some onion, some peppers, some kind of stringy cheese (maybe mozzarella...), some kind of creamy sauce, linguini, and chicken.

rues... Ready for Blindspot?  Previews look good, of course!   ;)  Is this the last one of the season or is there one more?  Did I ever tell you that Handsome doesn't like my youngest grand for some reason?  Just her.  She tries to be nice to him, but he gives her mean looks.  Well, tonight he was by the front door and she was petting him on the top of his head, real gentle.  All of a sudden, he whipped around on his back and hissed at her!  Very mean!  That's the first time I've seen him do that!  He was in big trouble!  I told him "Shame on you!!" and he looked like he felt bad, but he always runs away from her.  She said she's never done anything to him.  The only thing we can think is that when he was a baby, she came over with her peacock Halloween costume on, and it scared him.  He doesn't like hats, or anything else on the top of your head.   lol

OK, time to go watch the Voice!  Hi to everyone!

Ra, I remember the grand's peacock costume! It was so pretty! Can't understand why Handsome didn't like it! Lol!  Cats can be picky for no apparent reason! I know I've mentioned here before that Robin's first cat, Peppermint, Pepper for short, hated me! He spat and slapped at me  every time I would go near him! Then there was another cat that hated me...when I was a little girl my next door neighbor's orange tabby named Pal would hiss and slap at me, too! I swear I never did anything to either one of those cats to cause them to be mean to me! Lol! Send me some of your warm weather! I wore jeans and a sweatshirt again today!  :o. I think there may be one more Blindspot episode after tonight's or I might have that mixed up with NCIS! Lol! Can't believe you are old enough to have a child turning 40!  You must have been a baby when you had her!  Crow would have enjoyed your Surf and 2 turf yesterday!

Cal, you are so right...the update pics are so good! Glad to know that Herbie is ok! Wonder if Fern is a mom now. Hope she is ok.   Hope you get to do some reading or playing your game while Jim is out of town! We vote tomorrow. Today I got a call from Hillary! Well, a recorded message. Bernie called yesterday!

Obsver, glad that you got to talk to your eastern daughter and spend time with your other kids yesterday! What's an egg casserole?

Hi Nora and Jp!

Hi rues!  My daughter had a cat that hated me, too.  I couldn't even walk through the room without her hissing at me and growling!  Even if I didn't even look at her!  I can't imagine wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, it was almost 90 today here!  Sadly, I was NOT a baby when I had my only child.  She was so bad when she was little that I couldn't imagine having another one!  lol  My mom said that the next one probably wouldn't be as bad, but I wasn't taking any chances!  lol   Looking forward to Blacklist!  I know you'll be so glad when the primary is over!!  All those ads!  Geesh!  I'm getting covered up with calls from insurance companies about Medicare Supplemental insurance!  Makes me so mad!  I tell them I'm on the "do not call" list, have never done business with them, and don't appreciate all the calls!  And, take me off your list, please!!   >:(  Do you have Fatz up by you?

Hello Jewelies

I have had such problems with the Forum not working properly.  Today was the first day that it all works really well for me and I see that Amy did something terrific to fix the problem!!  I just read up on the last three pages of entries so now I am caught up since my last visit to Jewel's thread.

Looks like everyone is enjoying the spring and wild weather ride of 2016.

I have not been up to much.  Been to a few doctors, like some of you have too.  Enjoyed time with my Mom on mother's day and enjoyed time with my daughter too.  Got some Skype time with my son stationed on Okinawa and phone time with my oldest son.  My mother's day was wonderful.

In fact, I am getting ready to eat some of my Tuxedo chocolate mousse cake from Costco that is left over cake from yesterday. ;D

I have been watching three nests regularly.

The SWFEC in Ft. Myers, FL nest has fallen apart this year.  I like M15 (the father) but I cannot help but wonder if his lack of nest building skills caused the nest to fall apart.   I am heart sick that their youngest eagle E8 was attacked by most probably an owl, knocking it out of the natal tree and now E8 is MIA.  This is the same eaglet that needed to be rescued earlier this year because it got something caught around it's foot.

The DNN nest has three eaglets but it is so difficult for me to watch due to the aggressiveness of the oldest eaglet.  There is such a size difference between the youngest eaglet vs its two older siblings.  I know this is nature at its rawest, but sometimes it can be hard to watch and I have to turn it to another nest channel.  The parents on that nest are not as good at feeding their eaglets in unison to avoid all the pecking.

The Decorah Nest is always calming to watch for me.  Regretfully, one of the eaglets decided to poop into the wind and now there is a mess on the camera lens.  Yikes.  I sure hope the rain that the nest is getting will wash the lens clean soon!!!

I love the sounds of the nests, especially late at night when all are asleep.  I get the sounds of all the bugs without all the itching  :D AND in the comfort of my bed instead of a tent.  lol

For all of you that are sick and tired of all the political advertisement, turn off the TV/Cable.  I got rid of my cable about one year ago and it was the best thing I ever did.  I can still watch many shows on TV, but without the commercials.  What a money saver that was too.  I experimented with not watching the TV shows on cable for one month before I cut off the service, just to make sure that I would not have regret withdrawal syndrome.  lol   I did not regret it and have not wanted it back.  There is just so much entertainment on-line that I find no need for cable tv.

OK, enough of that bandwagon.  Enjoy your Tuesday.  Now that the Forum is fixed, I will be back more often again.  Thanks to all that were calling out to me over the last three pages of entries.

Peace, Eaglette

Ted and Lucky were walking together on opposite sides of Ted?s fence. They looked peaceable, but I couldn?t tell what they were saying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHWtHNrffiA Lucky swimming with the duck

A report that one of Braveheart?s yearlings was missing had the community worried, but a neighbor let us know that everything was okay. Stratton, the same yearling that left the family last fall to come back for more food in November, was at the neighbor?s house. Last fall, Braveheart?s den must have been nearby, because he was back with the family this spring. He is apparently up to his old tricks of running off independently, family breakup must be near. Geneva, the little female, has always stayed closest to Braveheart and is still doing that.

Years ago, June?s yearlings came and went a bit before family breakup miles out in the woods. Sue is putting together a paper on the many variations of family breakup we?ve seen.

Out the window, there were two new birds today?a male ruby-throated hummingbird and a female rose-breasted grosbeak. The grosbeak looks a lot like a female purple finch but is twice the size and has a huge seed-cracking beak. I hope we see the beautiful male soon.

Crows are flocking in but are shy. They don?t dare come to the railing with me at my desk. Last year, one brave crow would ignore me and come, but he?s not here.

Early this morning in low light, the two friendly gulls came (separately). I wondered how many slices of bologna they could eat. The smaller one ate 5, and the bigger one apparently was full with 7. Each piece is about an ounce.

"Nora... Haven't you heard of blackened chicken before?"  I don't think I have, but what you ate sounds good!

Rues, some cats are just plain mean.  Do you get Animal Planet?  If so, do you watch the one about the guy that comes in to help people with their nasty cats?  :D  I had a sister-in-law that had a big white long-haired cat named Fud.  He'd get on top of their refrigerator and a person got so if they were going to walk by there, they would look for the cat.  He'd reach down and swat.  We babysat him one time at our apartment when they went on a vacation for a couple weeks.  In the middle of the night I woke up when jumped up on the bed by my face and he BIT ME (thankfully didn't break the skin).

"Makes me so mad!  I tell them I'm on the "do not call" list, have never done business with them, and don't appreciate all the calls!  And, take me off your list, please!!"  I agree RA.  Sadly the government is exempt from that  >:(

Yep Amy tried something different yesterday and the forum WORKS!  It's fantastic  :)  It sounds like a very nice mother's day for you Eaglette.  The size difference on DNN bothers me too.  The third one is SO tiny next to the other two.

Awww that head tip of Faith's in that picture  :)

Glad your morning is going well JP!

What a neat spot for Ted and Lucky with the little waterfall.

It took me 5:24 to pick up that wounded soldier.

cal,  The Royals are sure having a tough time, but it is a long season.  The Marlins were 3-11 to start the season and now they are 17-14-and only three games out of first place in a division where the Mets, The Nationals, and the Phillies area all bunched withing 3 games of each other.

We've had rain off & on all day, extremely grateful we didn't have storms & tornadoes like I saw on tv. Hope everyone stays safe. Rues, an egg casserole is eggs, sausage, cheese and some cubed bread all mixed together and baked. The sausage is fried and drained before you put it in. Ask crow where he thinks Ford was so intent on going at the end of the new book. I must have missed something.  Cal, I heard that the storms were headed toward Kansas City. Isn't that an hour from you? Dlong, are you in the path of the storms? Hope not!!  Ra, aren't you glad that Cal hasn't seen that snake? Me, too!!  Hi, JP, nora, bischue, Willi, neva, Eaglette, deb, chippy!  Well, I'm not going to watch the DNN nest, either. Just can't stand cruelty.

Hi Jewelies! We went to vote around 11:15 this morning. We vote at the grade school down the street from us. The school shares a big parking lot with the public library. Well, the parking lot was full! We thought must be some meeting going on at the library. We drove around and finally found a parking spot. Went inside to the gym where we vote and we were shocked! The place was packed full of people waiting to vote! There was nothing going on at the library! We turned around and left. Thought we'd run some errands and come back after lunch. So at 2 pm we went back to vote. The parking lot was still full so we found a parking space and went inside again! The place was still packed! We checked in and were given a number like at the DMV or a deli! Lol! Take this number and sit in the bleachers, when number called come down and vote! We were there for one hour and 45 minutes before our number came up! There were 30 people ahead of us. A lady behind us said she had been waiting over 2 hours! This years Republican ballot was 25 pages long because of all the people running for the Republican delegate spots for their convention! It was taking the people voting Republican over 15 minutes to vote. Our voting machines are up to date electronic machines and normally only takes a couple minutes to vote. The legislature also did away with straight party ticket voting this election, too. So that contributed to the slow down.  We saw several people get frustrated and leave before they voted! We decided that come November we will take advantage of early voting!  :)

Big storm rolling in with lots of thunder! Bbl!

Hi Jewelies!  The concert tonight was really good... The Middle School chorus.  The theme was "Walhalla Idol".  they sang some really good songs and my grand's name was mentioned for getting her Outstanding Soloist award at the competition.  That was cool!

cal... I hope those storms aren't too bad!  Sounds like you have an easier system for voting.  Hope Polly gets there safely!  The DNN nest is hard to watch.  Amy did a blog about it today and she said we're spoiled by the other Decorah nest always running so smoothly.  Heartbreaking to see one get fed, and nothing for the other two.  No nestful of stuff waiting to feed there.  Amy said that in the next 5-7 days we should see a growth spurt of the little one.  I sure hope so...  JP's right... baseball is a long season and it's only May...

rues... I don't know if I have the patience to wait that long to vote!  25 pages is pitiful.  Can you skip any of the questions?  I probably wouldn't know most of the people that were running, if that was here.  I did the early voting thing once and it was so much easier!  I think people are fired up this time... not so much voting FOR someone, but against another.

obsver... Down here they call your egg casserole a breakfast casserole.  Good stuff!  I like it with ham, too.

I hope everyone stays safe tonight and tomorrow with all the storms around.  I hope we get a little rain from one of them.  Not a storm, just a nice rain.  Hi to all!
