Hi Jewelies! Still raining! But it's a light rain now.  Lots of flooding in the small streams and creeks. It will take a few days before the Ohio rises.

Cal, went outside this morning and smelled skunk! Guess someone was looking for a mate! I didn't know it was skunk mating season until I did the puzzle! I always thought that they left their dens this time of year because warm weather confused them! Now I know the truth! Poor skunks get run over just because they were looking for love!  Did you hear that JK Rowlings is going to write 2 more Harry Potter books? Robin is thrilled!  Cool update pics with the hand fed birds!

Jp, that's one fine looking croc! On our first visit to FL we went to an alligator farm. There was this huge old gator there that had moss growing on him! I think his name was Colonel. I always get crocs and gators mixed up.

Ra, we always go to Da Vinci's, a locally owned Italian restaurant, every Friday and they are always busy. But Friday before Valentines was extremely busy! I got their Fettuccine Alfredo and Crow got the special...surf and turf with lobster bisque soup. Too full for any dessert! I had made cupcakes with red sprinkles on top so we had one of those later in the evening! How cool that your neighbor has free range chickens. We just drove 20 miles this afternoon to a friend of Crow's that raises chickens and sells the eggs! We always get 2 dozen. There was a guy there that had just bought 8 dozen. Lucy, the wife of Crow's friend, said she had sold 20 dozen eggs so far today! Have you ever found an egg around your house? If I lived outside of town, I'd have me some chickens for sure! Lol!

Ember and Cole in their first year. I always wonder how they turned out.  I seem to recall someone caught a picture of Ember a year or so ago at a feeding station.

Nothing of interest is occurring here these days.   Spring Break is getting started so we will have crowds of college students here for several weeks.

Wishes for each of you to have a good day.  I know many of you have not had one for a while.

Holly, Lucky, Entryway - UPDATE February 16, 2016

Trusses going up!
Trusses going up
A Lily Fan captured 4:28 of Holly and Lucky playing at https://www.facebook.com /toni.embree.50/videos/o.139730642706794 /1188386844527277/?type=2&theater.

Also, an 8-minute video of Holly working on her right hind foot pad again. It looks like she has the main off and has her heel pad and toe pads to go yet. I haven?t been able to see progress like this before. https://www.facebook.com/ toni.embree.50/videos/o.139730642706794 /1188388031193825/?type=2&theater.

At the Bear Center, big things are happening, like tons of logs are being craned into place for the entryway. They?re as big as I?d hoped and will look great! It will be an imposing structure. We?ll have stone masonry around the bases. We?ve dreamed of an entryway like this for years. Very grateful to all who helped make it a reality. There will be a bronze thank you plaque on a front post at eye level.

Trusses    Trusses    Trusses
Installation of the trusses for the new entryway!
Inside and outside, we will be celebrating the Bear Center?s 9th anniversary with this extreme makeover.

Thank you for all you do.

Well, how someone appears on a talk show and how they do their job and treat other upper-ups can be a whole different story and I'll leave it at that.

Wow, never know crocs ate frogs and birds!  Have you ever gotten to see him JP?  Ember and Cole looked so comfy up on that tree branch  :)  It should be a good rest of the day.  A warm up is coming and the sun is out today.

Joe finished today's rehab and I ran a couple errands.  I THINK someone here had asked how much more he had to go unless it was elsewhere, ooops.  Total is 12 weeks and he's about halfway through.  He's gone (I think) 18 times now and 12 weeks would be 36 at three times a week.

Those are quite the logs at the center, looks like they're coming along good.  Those trusses don't look lightweight either.

That dog flu has really been working it's away around the country.   :(

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIPPY (and to anyone I've missed being I haven't been on here as much as I should be, happy belated birthday.  Maybe Chippy will share her cake.)

Ok, off to check out the mouse cake..............

Geez, I made the first mistake I have made in many years (must be the old age) when I thought the cats were mice.  It seemed logical as cats are generally mousers but it taught me to be more observant.  Now, if I can just remember to do that.

Nora, Your observation was very astute.

Nora, I forgot to say that I do not know if I have seen that particular crocodile.  I do occasionally see one, or an alligator, when I have wandered in areas around the airport (off the beaten track).  I don't do much of that any more, however as I have difficulty walking any distance.  Did you know that Florida is the only place in the world where crocs and gators share the same habitat?

Chippy, Happy Birthday and so good to see you. Prayers & hugs are being sent to your husband & you--hope the news is good. Hoping for a good outcome for your mom, too. Bless you for taking in the kitten. I was wondering if you still had the rabbits.  Cal, I hadn't heard about that dog flu. Makes me wonder what's next. We take our minister's German Shephard to our local baseball throw tennis balls, and she is one smart cookie. I would recommend to anyone throwing tennis balls to get a plastic launcher like we did. It's got a long handle with a little hollowed out place at the end where you put the ball. The balls goes a long way, and it saves wear & tear on your arm & shoulder. You can get it at any pet store. Hey, ra! Mexican tonight? Rues, it's supposed to be 50 by Sat. a tropical paradise!!! Nora, hope Joe's rehab isn't too stressful. Hi, jp, along, neva, bischue, pat!!!!!

Happy Birthday Chippy!  Good to hear from you! You've been missed! Hope everything turns out ok for Joe and your Mom. How nice of you to bring the kitten inside! Will you keep her? What's her name? Hope Cal posts that pic!

Cal, I hadn't heard about the dog flu! Maybe it hasn't gotten here yet. I heard on the news this morning that the shorthair CJ (California Journey)that won the dog show was the grandson of the 2005 winner! I thought all the dogs were beautiful! Those trusses at the bear center are huge! It was mentioned that the truss company also does the trusses for Cabelas. There are 2 Cabela's in WV. Their stores are very pretty but nothing inside to interest me. I'm not into hunting and fishing stuff.  Went to the farm store today to get bird seed and they just got in 100 baby chicks. Oh my gosh they are so cute! You can hear their peeps all over the store. I asked the lady a bunch of questions about the chicks. She was nice and told me they were pullets. She ordered 1000 but only 100 were delivered. Watching bears eat their toe pads isn't one of my favorite things! Lol!

Jp, wish I was on spring break in the Keys!

I'm hungry...bbl!

Hi Jewelies!  Nice day here, sun was out!

Happy Birthday, Chippy!

rues... Cabela's have some pretty nice women's clothes... pricey, but good if you can find them on sale.  I've found a few things.  They have some jewelry, too.  My SIL always stops there when we go on trips, that's the only time I've been in the stores.

cal... I wonder who wants to watch the bears removing their foot pads... besides Dr. Rogers!  lol  Ewww!

obsver... We went to Mexican last night... We wanted to go to a new burger joint, but they were closed, so we went to our old standby restaurant.   :)

Hi everyone!
