Poor, JP...  lol

cal... I'll probably watch the Grammys, too.  Love all the singing.  President Obama was on the Ellen Show last Friday and I wondered how anyone could NOT like him.  He's so nice and funny, too.  JMHO, I guess.

Hi Jewelies! It's raining! The snow is melting! Yay! Suppose to turn to freezing rain and snow overnight! Boo!

Cal, Crow watched all of Robin's  Star War movies last week so he asked her to go with him to see the new movie today since she had Presidents Day off. It was her 3rd time! Crow loved the movie so now they are going to go see it in 3D! Crow is hoping, like you, that Hans some how comes back to life because he didn't like him dying! I think Robin is the only one that didn't care that he died!  We went out Friday evening for Valentines to beat the crowds! Lol! Apparently he forgot to get me a card so he made a really cute one on his computer! It had pics of Molly, Boo, Stella, Wilson and Tela on it! Robin was telling us a cute story about Justice Scalia...when she was a first year law student they were discussing the Supreme Court Justices. She thought Scalia's name was Scallion, like the onion! She was so glad that she wasn't called on when they were discussing him! She said her law professor would have thought she was a stupid hillbilly from WV! That bear center is going to be awesome! Would love to go there! I've seen several skunks in the road, too.  :(

Jp, hope you got a good report on your blood work!

Ra, glad you got home before the bad weather hit! There are flood warnings out in some areas near here! Guess we are getting all sorts of precipitation rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow! If we can just make it to Friday with temps in the 60's!  Thanks for the pretty rose, Rose! :D  I agree, I think the President is a very likable person.

Obsver, I would never send you bad weather! Maybe your Eastern daughter sent it! Lol! Crow is listening to an audio book this week on his tablet! The only problem is.... he lays back in his LazyBoy recliner and falls asleep! Lol!

Nora, a bunch of that southern rain is coming my way!

Dlong, thanks for your pics and videos! I love old houses!

Eaglette, do you live near the area where those surfers were? Those waves were tremendous! I think females should be allowed to compete!

Talking about Chickadees did you know that they may hide up to 50 seeds a day, one at a time, across a 30 acre area and they have a sharp enough memory to find them later for eating.

The doctor reviewed all my blood work and said the he was impressed. All the numbers were in the good area.  Then he reviewed a bone density test that I had and said that my bones were solid, in fact that I had the bones of a young man.  Now, if only I could kick up my heels to celebrate, but my back won't allow that.

Wow, JP!  I'm impressed, too!  I bet you've got better numbers than most of us women here!  lol  Do you drink milk?  Can't believe you have the bones of a young man at your age!  That's GREAT!!

cal... I think it has stopped sleeting for now, but there's a lot of rain headed our way and it's only about 30o.  I think it's supposed to warm up a lot tonight, so hopefully by morning it will be all melted.  Supposed to be almost 70 this weekend here!  Nice!  Cool you got to eat with Missy and her family for V Day!

rues... Were there a bunch of other people trying to beat the Valentine's Day crowd at the restaurant you went to?  What did you get?  I haven't seen any skunks in the road... yet.  lol   Sounds like a lot of us will have nice weather this weekend!  Now, I just have to find something to do in the yard that hasn't already been done.  My neighbor has 5 chickens that she lets roam our yards when she's at home and they come over here and scratch in the leaves and mess up all my nice leaf lines in the yard.  lol  I have to go out and fix it, but I don't mind.  They get a lot of the bugs in the yard.

Juliet's Sharon is the bear today.

Today I am a GOM.  Major oversleep and I can not blame it on anything.  I went to bed at a decent time and slept soundly.  My system just did not kick in in time.

I see the weather seems to be breaking in areas where it has been extremely cold.  I hope that means all the Jewelkies will be more comfortable.  Have a great Tuesday!

Holly Foot Pads, Redpolls, Progress - UPDATE February 15, 2016

Redpolls in hand
Redpolls in hand
A Lily Fan captured the best video I?ve seen of a bear removing its foot pads. Holly worked on her right hind foot in front of the camera in this 5-minute video https://www.facebook.com/ toni.embree.50/videos/ o.139730642706794/1187255477973747/ ?type=2&theater.

And then there was this 8-minute video of joyous, playful snuggling with ears in the play position and playful gapes, especially by Lucky. https://www.facebook.com/ toni.embree.50/videos/ o.139730642706794/1187688231263805 /?type=2&theater

With fresh snow covering much of their wild food, common redpolls came flocking in and didn?t care if my hand was there. Redpolls are wary of what they don?t understand or of red squirrels that try to join them, but winter food is so important to survival that they quickly determine whether something is really a threat and if it can be ignored.

Redpoll in hand   Truck delivering logs   Logs delivered
At the Bear Center, more progress. The truck delivered some of the beautiful logs that will be part of the entryway. We?ll see that develop over the next few days, thanks in part to Lily Fans, which a bronze plaque on one of these logs will say.

Thank you for all you do.

This is one of the Key West residents sunning himself Monday afternoon.  It made me think of cal's friend Niles.  The park is a city park near the airport.
