Hi Jewelies!  :)

The weather people were saying we were supposed to have some freezing rain or snow early this morning, but nothing happened, which is OK with me! It's 44 right now and supposed to be warmer this coming week. Thursday is supposed to be 70 and upper 60s for the weekend. I can live with that for sure.

Lucky and Holly are making sure no cold air comes into their den. I loved the picture in the update of sweet Ted looking at Dr Rogers.

Cal I follow an old house group on Facebook and this house was posted earlier this week. It was built before the Civil War. I went and found it on Realtor.com. Do you know this place? I love old houses but I don't have the funds or the energy to fix one up. But I love to look at them. Here's the realtor listing: http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/39719-Highway-HH_Rayville_MO_64084_M82102-30045

You can see little Bei Bei wrestling with his mom in this video. She was in the box where he plays with his toys and he wanted her out! Alas, he is still too tiny to move pudgy Mei.

Yesterday afternoon Bei Bei was up on the rocks helping Mei eat some bamboo. He doesn't really eat much of it yet, but he loves to  climb and play in the bamboo. He is so funny to watch.

He was back at it again this morning all by himself.

Hi to JP, Rues, Ra, Obsver, Eaglette, Willi, Nora, Neva, Deb, Chippy, Pat and all who visit here. Have a good day!  :)

Hi, Jewelies! Happy Valentines' Day!!!!! It's been cold here, too. This afternoon, a fine, stinging snow started from the east. Nothing good ever happens when our weather comes from the east! Rues, shall I blame you? After all, you are east of me. Dlong, so good to see you. We like it when you check in. Those pandas are beyond cute! There are so many questions about those shows like Property Brothers, etc. about how much money the people get, are they able to keep all the furniture afterwards, if money is tight, why are the faucets, flooring, etc. used so expensive. I could go on. I like to watch, though. Cal, do you feel better when you ride your bike regularly? Were your sleep patterns so broken up before you got all your dogs?  I doubt if anyone here could handle all the chores like you do. Girl, you are a wonder! Ra, you sure wouldn't like to be back in Mich. right now. The weather map is showing lots of cold & snow. Jp, get ready. If we all get as tired of this cold stuff, we just descend of you. We'll even do your laundry and keep you entertained. We'd put a bag over ra's head just long enough to get her over that bridge. Hi,, Eaglette, bischue, neva, Willi, deb, chippy, pat!!  Cal, after chores & supper, sit down and put your feet up--that's an order from the crone!

Hi Jewelies!  Happy Valentine's Day!  Love all the pretty V wishes today!  Thank you all!   Here is a rose from a rose...

It's been cold here today, under 40 all day, and expecting snow/sleet/freezing rain.  Oh, boy!!  lol  The girls and I only went outside for a few minutes for them to see all the changes in my yard.  Looks so different!  I don't know if I'll make it to work in the morning or not.

I hope everyone has a nice evening and stays warm!  Hi to all!

Lily.

At noon today February will be half gone.  Time goes by too fast.

I have to be at my primary care doctors at 8 this morning.  Just a follow up on my blood test.  I'm feeling a little more energetic today.

May all of you have a grand Monday.

Holly and Lucky as Valentines, Chickadees and Progress - UPDATE February 14, 2016

Chickadee with white sides
Chickadee with white sides
Do Holly and Lucky know it is Valentine?s Day? They picked this day to resume their snuggling and hugging kind of play behind the wall of straw. A Lily Fan appropriately captured the action (5 minutes and 20 seconds) and labeled it ?Behind the Wall of Straw https://youtu.be/run3GqVTdTA

At the Bear Center yesterday, the staff has cleared the decks for major progress to happen in the next few weeks. All the carpeted panels are down as shown in the panorama. The exhibits that were on them are in the Hope Learning Center classroom which has temporarily become a workshop. The bear mounts, etc., have mostly been rolled into the Ecology Hall to make room for work on the floor of the Bear Center. The plastic was hung in the Bear Center to keep dust from spreading too far. Workers will soon be chiseling into the cement floor to install electricity for the new beautiful wooden platforms that are being made to re-hang the exhibits.

On the other side of the plastic in the Bear Center, workers are attaching branches to the replica white pines in the Camping with Bears Exhibit.

Out the window, breast coloration of black-capped chickadees varies. Some have nearly white breasts. Others have a buffy wash on the sides of the breast. The pictures show one of each. The fresh plumage of black-capped chickadees in fall has the buffy wash. The buffy feather tips wear off over winter, leaving nearly white sides of the breast. Now, in mid-winter we apparently are seeing different degrees of wear. The buffiness of fresh plumage also varies with subspecies, but I believe we are far from any area of intergrade between subspecies, so I doubt if that is the explanation for different colors here. If someone knows better, please let me know, and I?ll correct the information in a future update.

Thank you for all you do.

Hi Jewelies!  Brrr!!  I got up at 4:30 and looked outside, it was dry.  I turned on the tv and school wasn't closed, so I decided to go to work.  I was Speedy Gonzales and got home before noon.  It's freezing rain out there now and they have closed the schools.  Temp is only around 28o right now, but it's    supposed to warm up later and turn to rain... we hope.  We're right on the line between rain and freezing, so we'll see.  Looks like lots of rain on its way here.

JP... Glad you're feeling better and hope your doctor appointment goes/went well.

cal... You need a remote control for your barn door!  Wouldn't that be just the thing?  Then you could stay in the house nice and warm.  lol   I saw that last night about Judge Scalia... All the Republican presidential candidates think Obama shouldn't be able to appoint a new one in his place.  What a mess.  We need 9, not 8 so we don't have a tie vote.  A year is a long time to wait to appoint a new justice.  Ok... that's about as political as I want to get.  I hope after the primaries they quit with all the ads on tv for awhile.  Tired of them.

I hope everyone is doing good, staying warm, and having a good day!  Hi to all!

Duh!  I looked like one of the bears was in there and realized it was a stuffed one.  Good grief.  That was interesting about the Chickadees, I never knew that about the buff color wearing off, neat!

Got 2-3 inches of the really fluffy kind of snow and we got home from Joe's rehab and the guy down the street had plowed the driveway while we were gone, so dropped a check off for him.  We're at 22 so far and they say should hit 29, then 24 tonight.  Yipee it's NICE out (after what we've had for temperatures).

Cal, which show on HGTV is Fredrick, well was Fredrick on?  The name isn't clicking.  That Drama is one big pup yet isn't he  :)  I swear Sparky still is at 4 years.  Last night he got between us so he was almost by my pillow and tried chewing on the edge of the comforter.  He doesn't CHEW stuff.  Just trying to get attention, not that he ever gets any, the spoiled dog.  :D  Joe sleeps under three layers of comforter because it's "cold" in there.  I sleep under one and if I have Sparky plastered tight up all down my backside I'm boiling.

RA, that's a beautiful rose for Valentine's day and if I didn't yesterday, I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

Hope your follow up blood draw went well JP and glad you're feeling more energetic today.

I'm glad you got home before the freezing rain RA!  Be careful if you go outside.

Off to do the puzzles...................thank you guys that posted them!
