Hi Jewelies! I had a big long post right after Cal posted her video but for some reason it wouldn't post! So I left it and went to Olive Garden with Robin. Just got back and the post was gone. So I start over ...
Cal, you and Pearl look so good together! I enjoyed the video so much that I watched it twice! What was Pearl saying to you? She sure had a lot to say! Your grass is so green. Everything there is so green! You have a very nice place! Robin got home Tuesday eve. We picked her up in Charleston around 7pm. She had a great time. She said the Potter play was excellent, so much better than the book. They enjoyed the Harry Potter Warner Bros studio tour. She and Letty did all the touristy things like visiting Big Ben, Tower of London, London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey. They rode in the London Eye, that giant Ferris wheel, had Lady Grey tea and scones at a tea parlor, crossed Abbey Road, went into the gift shop at Apple Studios, rode a double decker bus, lunched in a pub, went into a red phone booth! I know I'm forgetting some other places. Then they rode the Chunnel train to Paris. They went to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, ate at some cute little sidewalk cafes and feel in love with the Louvre! She was thrilled to see all the paintings and statues that she had only seen in books. She said she was mesmerized by the Mona Lisa! Thrilled to death to see the Winged Victory, one of her favorites! She loved the French people and their language. She said when they speak it sounds like they are singing. Now she wants to learn French and go back for a longer visit! I think she had a fantastic vacation. Still haven't seen her pics yet!
Jp, that lounging dog was so cute! Hope your blahs didn't last long! Crow told me this afternoon about the player that was killed. How sad.
Neva, I knew you lived in Tucson! Sounds like a very nice place to live.
Nora, to close our pool in the fall we add winterizing chemicals to the water, then use a compressor to blow out all the pool lines and then plug the jets. The skimmer box needs that pink RV anti freeze put into it. Then put the winter cover, similar to a big tarp, over the entire pool. Inside the garage, the sand filter needs drained and all the line valves need to be shut off. Crow then turns the power off at the electric box. Some people still drain their pools down below the inlet jets and the skimmer box but we were told from the very beginning not to do that because it can cause damage to the liner. We've never had any freeze damage in the 15 yrs we've had the inground. Knock on wood! You probably know more about winterizing a pool now than you ever wanted to know! Lol!
Obsver, Crow isn't reading anything now! He is too busy watching football! We don't have to mow because our grass is brown! They are saying that September may break a record for the least amount of rainfall...ever!
