7:47 Warming up here today.   34 degrees already at 11:30.  Lots of ice around due to very cold ground.
I am good.  Hope you all are too.  This is the longest two weeks of the year for football addicts like me and my daughter Debbie. Being shut in due to covid and the cold and snow make it seem even longer than usual.
Not much to offer this morning so will say so long for a while and GB

Birds Stealing Fox Food - UPDATE February 1, 2022
Gray Jay
Gray Jay
A small treat for Pretty Girl is a blueberry mini-muffin. I didn’t put any out because I knew blue jays would steal them. But not putting any out did not stop a gray jay. It thoroughly searched the fox food area and came up with a snow-covered one that neither the fox nor I had noticed from a day or two ago. The jay flew off with it, leaving me impressed with how thoroughly gray jays can search for and recognize food. I wanted to document that the gray jay would eat mini-muffins, so I put three of them in the bird feeding area where I could get a picture. The gray jay did not come back, but soon a chickadee was pecking at one, followed by a red-breasted nuthatch doing the same. They ate only a little, though, so the major part of the muffins are waiting for Pretty Girl. I hope she comes in a couple hours around 8 PM like last evening. I don’t know where she is the rest of the day.

6:08 Cal.  Thanks for stopping back.  Finally got a chance to do it. Been running around to fix ice spot while it is warm. One downspout was coming back onto drive and freezing.  I put an 8ft. piece of solid wall flexible 4inch tile onto it and routed it out away from the house onto the lawn.  I think it will be better.  Been raining all day so car is a mess.  Hate to bring it in when dirt is dripping off.  will let rain rinse it off for a while and bring it in when snow starts.
I miss hearing about the grey cat etc.  just so you know. LOL  CUL EV1 GB

Curiosity ...  25:09               55°   5:00 pm     Rained this morning, quite windy and supposed to be 29° tonight.  Chilly for us.  No complaints here when I remember New England winters.  Our difficult time is summer.  I feel bad for all the freezing cold you guys are going through.  Be careful.

Zoe is her usual happy self.  I just love that little girl so much.  I am glad that we still have her after Maddy died.  She belongs to my granddaughter, Bella, but spends most of the day with me.  Bella is my granddaughter who always had wanted to be a Veterinarian.  That idea is not on track at the moment, but guess what...  her boyfriend (very serious) is from a farming/ranch family north of here and they are into horses and dogs and other creatures, and who knows if this is her future, maybe she may reconsider being a vet, or at least animals will be a big part of her life anyway.   :)

7:18  Thanks Neva for that very cute bear mom video, and Cal for the puzzle and dog shame.  I am good today.  Staying in all day to avoid weather related experiences.  Got milk and bread and frozen dinners so I am all set for a couple days at least.

  Goldfish ...   17:26                   56°    (3:06 pm)    Windy and Sunny

I hope your day is going well, as you would wish it to.  I guess these days, so many of us are more or less shut-ins, to one extent or another.  I am spending a bit of time getting paperwork together and in some kind of reasonable order so that if anything happens to me, my kids will be able to deal with everything.  I feel fine, but I should have done all this quite some time ago.

My one daughter has suggested that I decide and specify now about who gets what, so as to avoid arguments.  What???  every little nic-nac?  put a tiny little dot of a label on each thing like items at a yard sale?   All I know is that Michelle gets all of the cookbooks, and there are quite a few, and they all can take back what they gave me ... and then there are a couple of items that I could decide on.  I don't quite know .... Paperwork first.
