5:53 santa ,but Cal the thought of Sharpei skid marks on the bed YIKES!
Not much to share today. Cool but dry.  Lots of outside walking.  Even a little without my walking stick.  Legs are good.  If compressed nerve does not act up I can go some. I take the stick because I never know when nerve will act up and weaken legs.  Golden age has a lot of brown in it.
Got a chill just now need to change cloths from walking, and start cooking.  So cul ev1 and God Bless us one and all during this holy season.  The older I get the more I think about God.  Wonder why?

Nice here today 31 and sunny.  I am good.  New knee is fine  .  Back is OK.  So all is well.
Big day. Gonna get a haircut.  So gotta get going.  It is a big production for me, because I don't like to do it and put it off a lot.  Then oil change appointment that I have waited fro at least two weeks.  Can you believe it? Two weeks.  Used to be 20 minutes, but now I have to go to dealer, because I bought the maintenance package with the car.
Well enough griping.  CUL eV1 Stay well and warm please.  GB

Lighthouse …  20 + mins.    (It said someone did triangles in about 4:38 - really???  I'd pay to see that)  lol!

70° right now, at 3:07 pm …  sunny.  Really nice.

My car is an older Toyota Camry and well past warranties and all that.  I've lucked out on finding a good mechanic that I can absolutely trust.  Michelle was at the supermarket one day, standing in line at the cashiers, and talking to someone about her car problems and trying to find someone good to work on her car.  A guy was in the line and introduced himself saying that he overheard what she had said, and that he would like to recommend someone - his mechanic.  That was several years ago, and how we started going to Jeff.  Thank goodness he is nowhere near retirement age.  Now if I could only find a handyman that was as good.  Michelle found someone to work on the front yard tomorrow … weeds can grow in the winter out here.

Today, a certain well know person told the crowd that he was speaking to that he had gotten his booster … guess what … Some of them booed him.  I am surprised that he told them and glad that he did admit it.

Cal … I am glad to come here, even though I don't have a whole lot going on, and may bore everyone to pieces.  I am usually here at home.  I think it'll stay that way for the foreseeable future.

Okay, Just Busy With Paperwork - UPDATE December 20, 2021
Yearling male in nest 2017 by Andrew Theodos
Yearling male in nest
2017 by Andrew Theodos
Two people told me they were concerned about my health because I have not been writing as many Updates as usual. I’m the same as ever, but sometimes I just can’t keep up with everything.

Paperwork includes data searches and scientific writing, writing a Foreword for a friend’s book, bringing Shadow’s Clan up to date, helping with the monthly financial report, and purchasing property that will benefit the research and eventually the Bear Center.

At the Bear Center, the staff and I are working to improve our exhibits and nature trails. In June, Popular Science Magazine selected the Bear Center as one of the top 50 sciences centers in the nation, and we want to continue in that path.

I have to admit, though, that I am distracted at times by the excitement of wildlife visits—the beautiful red fox that residents are calling Pretty Girl and by any critter that shows intriguing behavior or poses for pictures in good light.

One of the scientific papers is about bears as counterparts to great apes. Both are omnivores that use trees. Some bear species frequently build tree nests like great apes do, but black bears rarely do. However, I remember a black bear that climbed a tall jack pine (Pinus banksiana), broke branches, and arranged them into a nest that it returned to day after day to rest. That was also unusual for being a jack pine and not a white pine (Pinus strobus) that they greatly prefer for refuge, resting, and a place for cubs to engage in carefree play with each other.

Another instance of nest-building was on August 8, 2017, when we watched a young male black bear move to the outer reaches of a white pine branch and create a semblance of a nest by breaking and arranging small branches that he rested on for a few hours until the sun’s rays hit him directly and he moved to the shaded heart of the crown, never to use the nest again. The picture shows the ends of a couple broken branches during construction.

Thank you for all you do.

7:03 Slow but steady.  Eyes watering the whole time. Multiple clicks to pick up pieces really slow down time.
Yes I am fine today. Thanks.  Got very short hair and beard cut.  Gave him $40.  He was happy.  Not long ago it was $20 including a good tip. I had to take off my mask so he could do my full beard.  He kept his mask on the whole time.  This is a first for him.
His partner is now sick at home. I am a little apprehensive.
So I Threw away my mask, did a lot of sanitizing in car, and washed up as soon as I got home.  Hopefully dodged the bullet.  I will keep in touch with him.
I wish I could get my relatives to buzz my head and face. Safer, cheaper, and no real skill needed.  Just keep buzzing until it is all gone. Eye brows and all.  Try to limit bleeding to save band aids.
I don't see how Jim can do the back of neck, or I too would do it myself.  Maybe one day I will do all I can do, and then call my daughter to finish.  This way she may see I can't go out with that look.  I hope she will finish it so I don't have to go to barber half done.  He will know how cheap I am then. LOL
All in all yesterday was a good day. I went through our nice metro park.  I love to do that.  I stopped at the Spudnut Donut shop in Berea where I would get the best donuts clear back when I was in high school.  It is a joy to see them still here in the same location, and with the same high quality treats.  Not to mention the great variety of donuts. So hard to pick , because they are all so good and attractive in their trays.  I love it.  Good coffee too.
Well I been here so long my back is getting sore.  So CUL  GB
