Dr Stanfield was greatly impressed with my scar and progress.  He said I was weeks ahead of what he expected for mobility.  The xray showed him that the implant was securely in it's proper place. I was glad, and Debbie was thrilled to hear his comments too.  So I will go to rehab a while longer and see him  for followup in 6 weeks. August 11th.  Was a rainy day here off and on.  Going to continue through the night and tommorrow too I guess.  But it is cool and nice when not raining.  Babies are all good can't see TV lately.  Camera is looking at a post.  The bears have been active today.  Even Ted. Marge has been working overtime trying to get us as much bear views as possible.  She is till on cam.
The eagle babe were out in the pasture and kind of hanging out together.  One was eating something in the grass for a while then the other one popped in on him and they walked away a  short ways.  Then they flew together up into an old dead snag along side the creek.  The camera people are wonderful to keep up with these eagles so far away .

Time to star supper here so cul GB

GSB Falcon chick is self feeding today.  I am so glad to see this.  The mom never really got the hang of size and location appropriate of morsels for her baby.  Too late. She was eating dad's bird, but now mom is here and is taking over and feeding her.
oh well at least dad and I know she can do it herself if given the chance.  YAY.
Rehab soon so gtg CUL GB

7:04  Going on short road trip today.  65and sunny here great.  Babies are all doing fine and growing so big.  Only the TV puff balls are still 100% food dependent on parents.

Shadow, Mother and Cub - UPDATE July 1, 2021
Shadow
Shadow
Highlights in the midst of the increasing number of bears as mating wanes and the berry shortage hits were Shadow and a mother I think I know but want to check pictures before committing. Shadow was in good evening light that highlighted her white face. Mother cub
Mother and cub
Then a mother with a cub showed her face and 34-year-old Shadow drifted off—no longer the dominant bear of her past.

The mother had two cubs, one was too high up in against a bright sky that made it hard to see well. The other cub, a female, was mother’s girl. I love the picture of the two together, calm as can be.

Thank you for all you do.

Hi y'all,
Just got back from car ride.  Went to Columbia Station Metro Park.  Took a hike for forst time in many years.  Did pretty good.  Used a wheelerd walker for stability, but walked a lot.  Felt good.  Then drove over to Medina to get some lunch.  Stopped in Valley City for lunch instead.  Very quaint little town on the Rocky River.  Had a nice Giro, fries , and chocolate shake.
Then went to Medina to get some donuts from a special shop, but it was closed. Closes at "2ish".  It was 2:45.  So I turned for home.  Got a quarter watermelon for 2$.  Will have it for supper and tomorrow for lunch. Is cooling off now in fridge.
Feeling tired now.  Will take a nap.

Family, Bears, Nature, A Good Combination - UPDATE July 2, 2021
Mallards
Mallards

On this nice weather day, it was good to be with family and bears in nature. Daughter Kate and Granddaughter Veronica joined Donna and me for a good day. Guy joined us after my not seeing him for years until the last couple days. It was like he was never gone. He was immediately his calm, sweet self. Now noticeably older than the last time I saw him, his head is sprinkled with white hairs but nothing like Shadow who is 10 to 14 years older at 34. Guy has never been one to intrude upon mothers with cubs. True to form, he took orders from 3-year-old mother-of-two Chloe when she told him to keep his distance.

Two new mothers with cubs joined us in the last two days and we’re still trying to narrow down who they are. One of the cubs looked so nice on a branch today that I couldn’t help but click. It was the same with Valentine whose eyes looked thoughtful.

Out on the water with Donna, Kate, and Veronica, it was nice to see familiar wildlife. Looking forward to the first course that starts on the 5th.

Thank you for all you do.

5:01
Good morning EV!.  Babies all well.  66 Degrees and sunny.
Back is killing me again. Darn!  Well it will just have to do what it has to do.  I will keep doing what I want as long as I can. Ely and New York are on my agenda for August after final Dr's follow-up on August 11th, and Deb's med check on August 12.
Then I will hit the road.  I will wear my mask most of the time, and do my best to keep safe from bed bugs.  Not real sure how to do this, but I will try.
Also, will be going to Der Dutch Kitchen again soon, maybe next week, and Berlin too now that I can walk.  Again I will wear my mask most of the time, because Amish don't get vaccines in general.
Well got a few things to do today so I will get started now.  CUL GB

Hi EV!,
Happy 4th!  7:10 on rockets red glare.  Saw lots of fireworks around here last night.  Perfect weather for it.  Kids wih sparklers every where.  Lots of ooohs and aaahs.
More today too.  Going to pick blueberries soon.  Never have done this, but will try since I can walk again with new knee.  If I can't stand long enough to pick em I will buy some already picked and put em in my freezer.
Babies all well this morning, and big.  Bears doing good.   Will be going to see them on August 16th.  Will stay in Ely for three days, and come back on the 19th.  Then I will go to New York on the 22nd to see niece Susie.
It is great to be able to walk.  Still having trouble with my back, but will just ignore it and keep going.
So for now cul GB                               .
