H iev1,
Happy Thanksgiving.
I am alone but well this morning.  Debbie will bring a dish later.  She is isolating me so we can have dinner next year together.  Only one more month to start vaccines. Cal good to hear you say hand is better.  Lupine does not sound good over there.  Can you get a test soon?  Don't let hubby wait for treatment.  From what I read it goes from bad to terrible in just a short time.  Ohio is purple now and getting worse.  People are just not careful enough around here.  They are just going around as if they never heard of covid.
I really liked the poems, and would encourage more please sir.
Dreary day but not too cold.  Good day to be in snug and warm.  May God help those who are not.

Hi Jewelies! I'm actually fixing a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day! Lol! Next one will be on Christmas Day and then Easter and then Robin's birthday and the cycle goes on and on!! Lol! What can I say, my family loves turkey dinner.

Cal, your hand looked awful! I can see why it hurt so much. Glad the company is making good with broken cup. I think that's the cutest cup. Good for Jim making his own turkey dinner. I can't see Crow ever attempting something like that. But he is anxiously waiting for me to make the apple crisp so he can use his apple peeler! lol! Loved your poem! You and Ra are both so talented! Glad that Polly is ok. Love your Thanksgiving greeting!

Ra, loved your poem! I can't believe it wasn't picked! Like I told Cal, you two are so talented! I think Wilson is exploring more places now because there are no dogs in the house. He never got to lay on the couch because there was always a dog there. Same with my bed. Now he frequents both those places! Are you having dinner at your house today?

Lupe, hope you and your hubby feel better soon. Robin said both the guys in her office that had ykw said the only symptom they had was feeling exhausted and having no energy. How lucky you are to have friends that bring you such good treats!

Jo, so happy that your daughter is bringing you your dinner! Better safe than sorry!

Hope each of you have a nice day! Stay safe, Jewelies! :)

Hi Jewelies!  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!  I've been wrapping presents today and getting them all organized.  I was going to work outside, but it rained so much last night that I decided to wait.  Good thing, too!  I looked outside for Handsome and there was a snake on my porch!!  I thought it was dead until it stuck its tongue out!  Of course, I screamed.  lol  I'm definitely not like cal with the snakes!  I was talking to my daughter on the phone when I saw it!  She was asking if I wanted her to bring me a plate from their Thanksgiving dinner.  I had already told her that I wasn't in a hurry, just bring it when one of them come down the mountain.  But... when I saw that snake, I told her, yes she could bring it to me and hurry, so she could take care of the snake!  I put a box over it, so I would know where it was.  When she got here, I told her to take it across the street, I didn't want to find it in my leaves!!  When she tipped the box over, it was empty... or so we thought...  it had hidden under one of the inside flaps!  It was mad, too... making some kind of noise.  At first she thought it was poisonous, but it was young, so she wasn't sure. Turned out to be a corn snake... according to her, a good snake.  I said there's no such thing as a good snake.  lol  She took my broom and coached all the way up the driveway, over the road, and into the ditch across the road.  Whew!  Hope he didn't have any relatives on this side of the road!!

cal... I didn't get to watch the Texans game, but just saw they won.  Hope to get to see the Chiefs game on Sunday.  Clemson has a home game Saturday against Pitt at 3:30 on ESPN.  Your hand looks very sore... I'm glad it feels better though.  Jim is cooking a turkey??  Wow.  You're definitely right... cowboys can be stupid, too.  lol

rues... My daughter brought me turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, and a piece of pumpkin pie.  It was real good.  I heard from both of my brothers today, too.  Last night we had a dinner here for my grand's 18th.  We ordered from one of the better Italian restaurants around here, and of course, my luck, they forgot mine!  They didn't forget to charge me for it though... I had to call them to take it off the bill.  Everyone shared some of their food with me, so it all worked out.

lupine... I'm hoping you and your hubby feel better.  What a nice friend you have!!  Pies brought to your door!  Can't get much better than that!!

joho... It's been pretty dreary here today, too.  Glad you're getting a plate of food, too!

Have a good evening, Jewelies!

hi ev1
Thanksgiving is over.  Debbie brought turkey, ham, potatoes, gravy, corn casserole, stuffing, Hawaiian roles, and spice cake with half inch frosting (2 pieces), so I added some heat and a cup of coffee and had a feast.  It was great. She said her two girls helped her out in the kitchen a lot, and felt that Joan would have been very proud of them all today.  Sob, I am sure she is right.
The girl who made my glasses was to drive to Sperry, Iowa to see her grandmother today. The girls name is Erin Sperry.  She said it is not her town.  Even though it has the same name.  Anyone know where Sperry is?  Is it close to any of you?  She said it has only about 265 people, and is either close to or in Boone, Iowa.
I heard Iowa is the worst state for covid as of yesterday.  I hope she and her grandma stay well.  I have to go back to see Erin soon.
Lots of football today.  Also, lots of Macy's Parade.  Very nice, but where did they get those singers.  Maybe it was the outdoors acoustics, but I did not hear good songs on my TV.
Been watching discovery and animal planet between football plays.  I can hear the TV from here in my room.  It sounds from here like they are trying to clean out the Pythons from the swamps.  I'd like to see them get them all.
Well getting tired.  So will go watch TV a while and  say GN and GB.
May God Help our friends in danger of covid and keep them safe until they can get a shot.

joho our friend marge a mod on bear chat she lives in ireland she is my fb friend too she posted this and you wanted more poems! :)

Love it!
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRiSTMAS 2020
Twas the year 2020, and all through the house
every creature was stirring, from Human to Mouse.
The stockings  were tossed on the chimney, who cares,
it's been months since we entertained, would Saint Nick even dare?
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
as visions of rubber gloves danced in their heads.
and Mama in her gaiter and me and my mask,
had just settled our brains for a long cleaning task.
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter.
I sprang from my mop to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash.
I peeked through the shutter, barely touching the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
gave me faith that someday we'd have somewhere to go.
When what do my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh, and eight spotless reindeer.
With a little old driver decked out in full gear,
I knew in a moment we'd have Christmas this year!
More safely than Hazmat the reindeer they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
Now Clorox! Now Pine-Sol! Now Lysol and Purex!
On Comet! On Purell! On Top Job and Germ-X!
Wipe the top of the porch! Then the top of the wall!
Now wipe away! Wipe away!  Wipe away all!
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
when they finished and then took a jump to the sky.
So up to the housetop the reindeer they flew.
With a sleigh full of masks, and Saint Nicholas too!
And then in a twinkling I heard on the roof,
the pawing of each little rubber gloved hoof.
As I pulled up my mask and was turning around,
Down the chimney a big bucket came with a bound!
It was covered in plastic from bottom to top,
and the contents were sterile, despite the long drop.
I missed seeing his eyes and his dimples so merry.
But this virus prevents that, these times are so scary.
I imagined his face and his little round belly,
That shook when he laughed like hand sanitizer jelly.
but I saw him outside though, as he stood near his sleigh,
and I laughed when I saw him, from six feet away..
With a wink of his eye and a wave of his hand,
I felt warm inside, Santa too understands.
And without a word I went right to my work.
I filled all our stockings, then turned with a jerk
And laying a finger aside of his mask,
The reindeer rose up, they had finished their task.
He waved to me then, to his team gave a shout,
and socially distancing, quickly flew out.
But I heard him proclaim as he drove out of sight,
Merry Christmas to all,  we will all be all right.

Good morning everyone- so glad you all had good, safe Thanksgivings. We had leftover roast and of course- pie!! Another of our neighbors called about 11:30 to see if she could bring us anything- hubby declined- and it was good. Last evening just before 6 i think we got a call from Iowa County public health- hubby has ykw. She said their office was working Thanksgiving evening to cut into the backlog for Friday.  She spoke with him for about 10- 15 minutes telling him how long to quarantine, and trying to see who he had contact with since his infection. They were really thorough. Hubby had only visited 2 friends in their business- all had masks on and kept social distancing. And he had already talked  to them.

So i need to call my health care provider and get tested ASAP. What a bummer. At least we don't feel all that bad-

cal- ty for the info about the Steeler game last night. I heard today that the Ravens quarterback is on the covid list and won't play on sunday. What a mess!

johoward- boone is north of des moines; not close to us. I hope your friend travels smart and
limits contact. We continue to be thankful that our trip to denver in october went without mishap. Looking back it was really nice to be out and about.

neva- Happy birthday- do something fun!!

cal- loved the poem- so timely!

Have a great day jewelies!

Cal Marge helped our little Mary enjoy her and Matts visit to Dublin a while back.  What a small world.
Lupine I am praying for your and hubby to quickly recover.  Please keep in touch.  I think Erin the eyeglass girl is in tune with safety.  She works every day in the Cleveland Clinic where they make you call from the parking lot to be sure there is room inside before entering and having temp taken.
