I'm glad she won, too!  I missed the race though.   :-\  I was watching KState and thought the race would be later, but when I went to watch it,  they were giving the trophy.  Sh*t.  Wildcats  just got a touchdown... back in the lead.  Both starting quarterbacks out with injuries.  Hope Thompson is ok.

Feeling Blessed - UPDATE October 3, 2020

WRI Driveway
WRI Driveway
Yesterday, I was a slacker. I fell victim to Donna?s urge to drive to Duluth, see color along the way, visit Hawk Ridge, and get a Whopper and a Fish Sandwich from Burger King. In my defense, it has been months since we did something like that. We had a good time; and I felt sharper today, which made me think we should do more of that.

But this morning, I felt extremely blessed to have the life I have surrounded by wildlife and a beautiful view out the window. The feeling hit as golden branches came into view while I drove in. As I held the camera, migrating juncos foraged close as I clicked. At my desk, a sharp-shinned hawk landed 10 feet outside the window and paused before launching into another fruitless chase. A blue jay is vigilantly eyeing him in the picture.

Back in Ely later for a flu shot, I stopped by the Bear Center where Sharon gave me a freshly baked loaf of banana bread.

At the WRI, a couple bears came around sunset.

It?s hard to ask for more than days like these.

Thank you for all you do.

Hi Jewelies!  Another beautiful fall day for us today!

cal... THAT WAS AWESOME!!  Thank you so much for letting me see the race!  Brings tears to my eyes!  lol  I saw last night that the Chiefs game might be played later this week... how can that be?  Seems like they would have to wait longer than just a few days...

Hope everyone has a nice day!  Hi to all!

Good morning everyone- we're back and very glad to have that trip behind us.  Driving out in a stiff wind out of the northwest in a full size cargo van- not fun. The traffic wasn't as bad as we remembered from our summer trips west.
Camping on the first night was pleasant and it was 35 in the morning making it hard to get out of our sleeping bags and get dressed.  Love my Nemo inflatable pad. Just like sleeping on a real bed.
We got to Denver just before noon and did the necessary paper work in very little time. Hubby took the hitch off the front so we could put ours on. The guy who was the seller had lots of stories, etc. Interesting guy - he kept saying- i should stop bothering you - you probably want to get on your way.  Luckily we just needed to get to hubby's nieces place just on the other side of downtown Denver.
Hubby drove the new jimmy- really serious engine problem but we made it -  I70 was busy- i was following him then took the lead when we exited the interstate because i knew the way to the niece's place. Then to find a parking place- it is a residential area and all places taken.  The building where niece lives has a couple visitor places but they were usually taken during the day by workers doing projects in the building, In the evening we got both vehicles moved to the visitor spots but not before we got a ticket for expired tags on the jimmy.  In that area i think a neighbor or resident probably turned the vehicle in. It was parked at the end of a row of cars by a driveway- legally- but with the license exposed. Can't believe there just happened to be an officer patrolling that area. No problem- we'll send a check to the seller to pay the fine.

Anyhow we had a good visit with niece who got diagnosed with alzheimer's dementia this summer. That really sucks! But we had a great time- Her daughter and hubby came with their 2 little ones.

Back to tennis- can't believe i've missed 4 days of tennis.

Have a great day jewelies!
