Hi Jewelies!   Nice, cool fall day today!  No rain in sight for the next week.  Yay!!

lupine... Have a safe and fun trip!

cal... Do you know what kind of dog that is in the dog shame?  Looks like a cute little teddy bear!  Are you arm and hand all better now?  Haven't asked in awhile.  They came early this morning and replaced my power across the street today.  I had to go to work and was worried all day that they would mess up my tv cable... Lights are all on, so I'm assuming it's ok.  Looks like the power was off for almost 3 hours.  glad I wasn't home.  Now, I have to reset all my clocks.

rues... The full moon is tomorrow... guess I'll be outside cutting down stuff to see if they really won't come back up in the spring.  By then, I'll probably forget what I was trying to do.  lol Cool story about your rug!!  Makes it extra special to you! I commented to one of my customers that I liked her cute little yellow pitcher when I was at her house last month.  Today she had it in a gift bag and gave it to me!!   Very nice of her, but I told her she didn't have to do that!  guess I need to watch what I admire at some houses!!

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon!

Daily Updates
Ted - UPDATE September 30, 2020
30 September 2020
 Print Email
Ted   Ted

As Ted got his straw today and settled into it in comfort, people were asking what retirement means for him. Actually, not a big change. We keep him separated from Lucky, but when Lucky is in his enclosure, Ted can walk down to the pond and viewing area if he wants to. But at his age and waning agility, he is not as inclined to do that as he was previously. So he will have senior citizen room service for his meals. People (including Behind-The-Scenes tours) will still come up to see him when he is up for it. Sharon and our veterinarians are watching over him. Ted seems in good health except for some difficulties walking due to arthritis.

ColorsOut the window here, trees brightened this cloudy day.

Thank you for all you do,
Lynn Rogers, Biologist, Wildlife Research Institute and North American Bear Center

Hi Cal!  I like Long John Silver's chicken (no fish for me) but they closed the only one around here. They tore the building down and built a Popeye's. I don't like Popeye's. We have a Captain D's but I don't like the breading on their chicken. Maybe Polly will get use to not driving and give it up for good! I wish I didn't have to drive. Did you celebrate her birthday? We had a little frost the other morning but only on shaded roofs. I think it may get down into the low 30's tonight. I guess the furnace is on for good now. Did you heard that potus has ykw?

hi ev1,
This chicken talk at my dinner time has me drooling here.  So I am going to add my 2cents.  The very best commercial on tv goes to Popeye.  The very worst food also goes to Popeye.  The take a chance award goes to KFC.  About half of the time it is excellent, but the other half you cannot eat it for one reason or another.  The KFC nearest to me is only a few months old, and is about 80% reliable if you don't mind trying to eat mashed potatoes with no utensils and a nice warm biscuit with no butter.  The chicken is however usually very good with original breading and not extra crispy.  The crispy is too rough on my mouth, and is sometimes burnt from reheating or something.
I do like Burger Kings original chicken sandwich though and may go get one soon.  BTW I already had dinner.  LOL

Be well all and may God bless.

hi Jewelies!  We won our football game 25-14.  the social distancing went well, too.  Had spaces marked on the bleachers, everyone (almost) wore masks.  It was pretty chilly!  I wore my heaviest winter coat and was mostly comfortable... the mask helped keep my nose warm.  lol

cal... The Preakness is tomorrow.  I had forgotten all about it!  Glad they advertised it tonight.

rues... We don't have any of the seafood restaurants around here anymore.  they all have closed.  I know you don't like fish.  I grew up on a lake and we ate a lot of fish that we caught... I still love it.  Burger King has a decent fish sandwich.

joho... I agree with you... all this talk makes me hungry.  Did you go get your second supper?  lol

I'll sure be glad when the election is over... so tired of all the ads.

Hope you all have a good weekend!  Go Tigers tomorrow night!

hi jewelies it is 49 here 59 in the barn one raccoonie.

hi rues! i have not talk to sister since thursday when we took her back home. i dont know if she liked that shrimp from ljs. i called and cancelled her appt with that jay he answered the phone too i said going to have to cancel her appt he said okay and i said ty hung up called the other one that is an hour an half away from sisters place be almost a 3 hour drive for us one way. dreaded having to tell her sisters license revoked and she is a senior anyway she was ? why come so far well wanted to see that town she got sisters dl number and said usually with a mental deal they want them to take it where they live but well okay so got an app nov 4th.12;45 this is it her last time cant do it again till may and i will tell her you can fail it at olathe same as long ways off no more going all over state of kansas she just does not have the skills to drive. i ate some of ljs fries they were good but mcdonalds better. they did not give me ketchup ljs gave jim ketchup i dont eat fish or chicken so that is not a problem for me. it is lightly raining here good we got all of pearls hay up yesterday i was on the ground and got chiggers too.

hi joho! oh you are our food expert for sure!! :) you know your food! so funny. i hate fries and no ketchup esp when you ask for it. mcdonalds good at doing that. sonic has good onion rings and gives ketchup that is about the only places i eat at. i like mcdonalds biscuits alot better than burger king and sonic onion rings better than burger king too. i hate you get a large drink and no straw what the so i check for that now all the time. jim back to eating everything again so that is good. he know alot of the spots too. when we take sister back all the food places all along the highway tons of them.

hi ra! great win. on the farm pearls radio i like it they do news every half hour and its local stuff and give out football scores for all the school around here. their weather is pretty much right on the money too. cover our county. when the wind was chilly last tuesday i went to walmart old folks day i thought that too this mask is pretty warm. i will be happy when election is over too usually i got it on hgtv so no political stuff thank you for the preakness update! you know i wondering did i miss that? tons of good tv with sports and stuff and i have tons of stuff to do. i was watching yesterday to see pres come out and get on that chopper to go to the hospital dont wish that on anyone hope he and his wife will be okay and hope his young son is okay but what did you expect wear a mask. justin 16 year old daughter with ykw got out of the hospital and is home but struggle still like missy and she is still having some problems breathing she did not have it but something like it. her mom and dad had their 50 anniversary yesterday.
