Hi ev1,
Finally been able to chat on bear.org.   Feels good.  Been since 2016 I have been unable to get signed in.  Ever since Honey went over.  I think it was partly because I was so very sad and missing her highness.  Yesterday it just finally worked for me, because I changed my password.
Well waited all day for Volunteers of America to take bags and boxes off my porch.  It is now dark and everything is  still there.  VOA sucks.  I am downsizing big time.  Have lots of good stuff to donate.  So I will take a load to goodwill, or Habitat For Humanity after my surgery.  It is at 11:05, and only takes about 10 minutes they said.
I will move the mountain from my porch to my car right after dinner.  The book case is a challenge.  It is big and heavy.
Will see you tomorrow, and let you know about toe.
May God bless all those in pain.

Good morning everyone-  50 here and the furnace came on once. Guess i should shut down all the windows at night now. lol  - cal- wow you guys have wildfire smoke at ground level. We can see it but it is way up- makes it kind of hazy.  So glad your sister is driving good now. Test is next week right?

johoward- good luck on your surgery today. Any limitations afterward?

ra- did you get much rain?  The Gulf coast towns look terrible. So much destruction!

rues- what a mess trying to get your license!  I know we went through a bunch when we got passports 4 years ago. So this time no problems. Glad you have a positive attitude- "when the ykw is gone."  So far we just have a new normal. Boo and pee pads- aw Heart-heart  Those are my version of emojis.

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi Jewelies!  Sun is out, after a couple of days of solid rain, it looks good!  We had about 4" total.    I got all my trinket boxes finished in record time.  I hope they all like them.  I struggled to see the patterns for so long... my eyes are finally right for stitching now.

joho... I hope your surgery went well.  I've had a few foot surgeries, so I know how much good it can do to get them fixed.

cal... Do you think Polly is ready for her driving test now?  It sounds like she's doing good.  Of course, with you in the car, she has to pay attention.  Right?  lol  Clemson's game tomorrow is at 4:00 against the Citadel.  Clemson grand and her boyfriend wanted to go to the game, but neither one of them got tickets.  Who does KSU play?

lupine...  My daughter and her husband have put in for one of the new Broncos coming out next year.  I don't think they can afford it, but they didn't ask me.  lol

rues... I wonder if the DMV would even notice that your mother's name is spelled wrong.  Do they really look that close?  I'm glad I went ahead and got my new license a long time ago with all the hassles you're having!  I bet Robin is itching to go on a trip!  Has she said where she wants to go next?

Wednesday I cleaned my car inside and out.  Looks so much better!!  It had been months since it was washed!  Next I need to get an oil change, it's been about a year and a half since I had it done... haven't even driven 3000 miles since the last one, but it's probably sludge by now.  lol

Hope everyone is doing good and have a nice evening!

hi jewelies it is 51 here 61 in the barn did not see any raccoonies.

hi lupe! i guess that smoke from wildfire at the lake is like a fog rick said settling on the lake. just terrible those fires. yes sisters test is next thursday at 1 pm and we are going to get there early drive around that town she is suppose to be there 15 min early so long day and leaving my kids. :( i cant teach her anymore so i hope she passes it.

hi ra! i dont think my wildcats play today i think they are off already. you know sister said that wish i could ride with her on that test but i cant. so hoping she remembers all the stuff and not just for this test but always. you still got a lot of rain. so your eyes are good for that now cause you got glasses? i cant see do anything up close without my reading glasses. i got the new john sandford book with virgil flowers yesterday downloaded it from the library. but dont know if i can read it by the due date. thanks for clemson info yay an earlier game.i need to wash my car bad and get the oil change too. hard to find time to do everything. when i took my form from dr buzard to get my handicap card deal he forgot to check if permanent and at the very bottom there is a date deal day month year he did fill out that but a little bit to the side not totally in the boxes and that one woman who works there told me he needed to put it right in the boxes. i rolled my eyes and she gave me a look like she would kick me out. there is another lady with long dark hair so darn nice if your lucky to get her. she would not of said a word about that. but some people like to feel big you know. when i took it down to buzard office maria his nurse thought the date deal pretty petty. we ended up going to excelsior with anyway and that lady was really nice. i am with rues will wait till later on get my star on my driver license. my license good for two more years maybe a vaccine be out by then not like i want to fly anywhere or do jury duty downtown at the federal building. wow new bronco!

hi joho! thinking of you and thinking i sure wish i could get my toes fixed too!

the dog shame said the boys and it was -30 degrees that day

Good morning everyone- 46 here- just perfect for the project i have planned for today. In the ditch north of the house there is a lot of little trees that would eventually take over my wild flower area. So i need to cut them off and treat the stumps so they won't grow again. Tall grass out there is dying back so it should be easier than in the spring when there is old and new growth coming on. I've been putting this off all week so yesterday afternoon i got all my gear out and put it on the back porch. I'll load it all in bertha and drive down the road a little. I'm hoping to get it done by noon--maybe.

My mulch person called last Friday- said he was cleaning out his phone messages and saw mine and realized he hadn't gotten back to me. Geez!! So he asked if i still wanted it- i said yes.  Still haven't gotten it- not surprised. Not really counting on it.

I'm getting ready to watch the Tour de France- i can't believe they went 40 mph downhill in the mountains yesterday. Wow- on 2 skinny tires.  45 minutes of spin does me in- of course there is no downhill.  lol

I'd best get a move on- breakfast then wait til it's light enough to work outside.  Izzy playing with her catnip mouse on a string-  very funny.

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi Jewelies. Spent most of the day digging and separating day lilies. Also cut that non blooming forsythia to the ground. Now I have to get that plant killer and kill it for good. I hate to kill the bush because it started out as the arms of a snowman Robin and I built some 30 years ago!

Cal, I hope Polly passes her drivers test. Will she have to parallel park? Do they still make new drivers do that? I was lucky when I took my drivers test because the State Police had just moved into their new office outside of town. We drove around on a county road and back to the station. Then I had to back in to a parking spot. I would never have  passed if  I had to parallel park! If I go downtown I drive around until I find a parking spot that I can pull into! Thank goodness I rarely go downtown!

Lupe, I talked to my younger sister about my birth certificate. So she checked her certified birth certificate that she had gotten from the courthouse 3 years ago when she was going for her federal license. She never paid any attention to it at the time but now noticed that Mom's name was spelled wrong on her birth certificate, too! Harriett was spelled Harriet, only one T! Mom's name was spelled correctly on her marriage certificate. She got her license with no trouble so I probably made a big to do about the entire thing!

Ra, that was a lot of rain you got! That must have awoken your naked ladies! Glad they finally arrived! Digging those day lilies today I found that we need rain. The ground is so dry. Robin wants to go back to Hawaii and Paris so badly. She and Letty had talked about going back to Puerto Rico, too.  Neither trust airplane travel right now. She's really sad today over RBG's death. If the little kitty had survived she was going to name her Ruth Bader Ginsberg and call her Ruthie.  :'(

Have a nice evening! Stay safe! :)

Clemson up 49-0 at the half.

rues... I wish they had put RBG o life support until after the election...  Her last wish was that the next president gets to pick her replacement.  We'll see if that will happen...  Robin will just have to find another kitty to call Ruthie.  One of my customers was telling me that if you wait until the last full moon, and you cut stuff down or pull weeds out, they won't come back.  Have you ever heard that?  I think the next full moon is Sept 30 or Oct 1... something like that.  If I can, I'm going to see if she's right.  lol

I will not take off any thing until I see the dr. on tuesday.  So far so good eye done.  Feels fine.  Toe done feels ok.  Slept until 8 am instead of getting up at 3 or 4 as I have been for several months.  Very nice day here today.  So I will go watch some football.
God bless bye

Daily Updates
Tasha, Lucky, Color, and Mystery Bear - UPDATE September 19, 2020

A couple days ago Tasha was working on her very own den that she has used in recent years. She makes it bigger each year as she grows. Today, I learned that Holly took it over. We?ll see who ends up with it. I don?t know what Tasha will do. She does have time to dig another one, but I don?t know how many places there are in the enclosure where she can do that. Here?s the half-minute video.

Lucky says that whatever fall temperature it is, it is too warm for him with his winter pelage coming on. I?ve seen bears in the wild put their wet paw on their head when they are in water trying to cool off as shown in this video. https://www.facebook.com/NorthAmericanBearCenter/videos/659909477972849/

Out the window at the WRI, some leaves look like gems on sunny days.

After seeing many bears old and new this summer and fall, yet another showed up yesterday?a male yearling or 2-year-old with light brown fur. Still puzzling over who it might be.

Today began grouse season when most hunters shift from bear-hunting to grouse hunting. We have not known of any hunters staying in this area after Labor Day.

Thank you for all you do.
