Good morning everyone- the wind has finally died down- my 2 guys were waiting patiently on the back porch at 5:30. They just hate the wind.

cal- so glad you saw a woodpecker there. We did see another one here- a bigger guy but not the red belly yet. I called him Big Boy. He was more than the length of my suet holder. Maybe the forage in the fields just hasn't been depleted yet so they haven't needed to come to the yard. I hope so. Really miss them. Do you feel better this morning? Eating anything?

Yesterday I grated some romano cheese to put on cauliflower for lunch. Now- my history with the grater is not the greatest. I've more than once shredded a finger- the last time was just a few weeks ago, Well- I got down to a small piece and I said- I'm just going to eat this. Popped it in my mouth- bit down and broke my top partial plate. So... I have to call the dentist today. I can go awhile without that plate- all of the teeth are in the back. But geez- it's been a long tie since I broke either plate but who needs the cost? It must be done,

Need to recycle today so I have to get a move on to get it ready.
Have a great day jewelies!

Good morning everyone- 24 here and no wind. Haven't listened to the weather yet but as I recall it will be nice all week. Yesterday I called the dentist and went up to drop off the broken plate. At least that's what I thought I was doing but my dentist saw the plate was worn down and needed more work so she took impressions again and said they would be ready on Wednesday. I asked how much this would cost and she said a couple hundred- aargh. Well, at my age this should be the last time I need to get new ones. lol or I guess they aren't new but rebuilt.

I got home in time for hubby's delivery of liver and onions from Second Street Sweets. She serves them the first Monday of every month and we love it. She had homemade mashed potatoes and fresh green beans and a little homemade roll. So yummy. I ate the roll and half of the potatoes- just couldn't resist. But in late afternoon I developed inflammation pain in my left hip  and knee. Those are original equipment. So... I will keep these to a minimum.

cal- can't believe you left home at 5:30 AM to get stuff. It would be nice to get  in and out before lots of people get there. So funny that you are looking forward to baseball season. That' how I feel on August 1st- means football will be soon.

Iowa basketball at 8 Pm tonight- can I stay up???

Have a great day jewelies!

Hi Jewelies! I had PBS Sunday morning newshour on, not really listening until I heard them mention Ely, MN! That really got my attention. Here's the link if you'd like to see it...https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/warmer-winters-put-minnesota-dog-sledding-at-risk I'm not a big fan of dog sledding but the segment was interesting.

Cal, glad you are feeling somewhat better! Crow has a mild case of it now. He is driving me crazy. Wish he would feel better and go see George! I need a break. Robin's ofc has a Roomba! She said they had one for a couple years that did a good job but her boss purchased a better one. He always has to have the latest and best products. Robin says Roomba goes to work in the evening after ofc hours. I think I would like one, too! Nice pics of Dr Rogers family!

Lupe, Crow was eating dinner a couple weeks ago, bit down on a piece of steak and one of his front bottom implants broke off at the gum line. He says he is going to wait and see what happens! If it doesn't bother him he is leaving it alone! He's lucky he has a small mouth and his bottom teeth barely show when he talks. Me, I have a big mouth and all my teeth show!  It's supposed to be 70 on Saturday with rain, of course! I've mentioned before that my dad loved liver and onions! He didn't get it often because no one else in the family ate it! My mom was pretty tough, things didn't bother her except cooking liver! It made her gag! Lol!

Ra, glad you got NBC! Did you watch Manifest?  Kind of scary!

Deb, hope your daughter and Scooter feels better soon. Miss seeing you here. Do you still have all those beautiful orchids? Mine died. :(

Jp, Jo and Nora, hope you are all having a nice day! :)

Cal, yep, I cooked that steak! I don't eat steak so I don't know if it was tough or not!  He likes it medium well, whatever the heck that means! When I think it's almost done, I cut into a little bit of it and have him take a look see if he thinks it's cooked enough. I have no problems with Robin's because she wants hers well done! I know when it's well done! Lol! That is cool that you can record those old shows! I wonder if our cable co offers that. Probably does but it would add more cost to the already high bill! I didn't see the broken off tooth. He just said it broke off at the gum. I don't even know where he put that tooth. Hope he kept it. That implant has to be 10 years old. So far there's been no pain. Those fires in Australia are devastating. I see a lot of things on Facebook that I wish I hadn't seen from Animal sites helping the injured and burned animals. Makes me cry. Robin said she donated money to one of the animal rescue sites. :'(  What a horrible person that would purposely start a fire.  Good luck tomorrow at the dentist!

hi jewelies it is 26 here such a full moon. griz barking in the kitchen trying to hurry

hi rues! i got an implant that is older than that and still in good shape well dr westman says it is but who knows its my other teeth i worry about breaking off. my mom would take a steak and throw in a really hot skillet and cook it like that. be tough as could be i would slip it to the dog back then. she liked everything well done! we upgraded our receivers went from sd to hdmi did not cost anything to upgrade and getting three new receivers called mini genies in my room and jims room living room has the main one cost like well not sure under 20.00 i think so it is worth it to me and not having to worry about old sd going out on my all the time. and this picture with a hdmi wow.

i got to go fed everyone get out of here drive to the city go by walmart bad weather for friday and tomorrow roomba day

Good morning everyone- 14 here and cats were on the porch huddled together and ready to drink and eat.

cal- I think we're supposed to have drizzle and fog tomorrow, snow Friday night and Saturday morning. Wish it would get cold and stay there. Next week it looks like more normal temps return. I must say though that it's nice to be able to drive without wondering what the roads will be like. I'm enjoying that while it lasts.

The Hawkeyes lost last night to Nebraska. Such a bummer. With 4 guys out from injury and illness it is not looking like a good year. At least it gives all the other guys time on the floor. Next game is Friday.

Today is cleaning day- then dentist at 11:30. Hubby may go because I tempted him with lunch out. We'll see. There is a Goodwill store close to my dentist and I have a few things to donate. My sil also gave me 7 bags of stuff to take too. So i'll get those dropped off.
Have a great day jewelies!
