Hi Jewelies!  Another beautiful day here!  I'll take all they have to offer!!  lol  Today is football day,so the leaves are going to have to wait.   ;)  Clemson grand called and said she's bringing her roommate here after while.  I've never met her!

cal... I see that Baylor/Oklahoma game is on right now... close!  Isn't Baylor Chip and Joanna's team?  Jim probably needs to eat soft stuff for awhile... mashed potatoes & gravy?  Chicken noodle soup?  Pudding?  Gatorade?

lupine... I had to smile when you asked if rues' Dairy Queen was open all year.  I had forgotten that the one in my home town in MI closed for the winter.  lol  Down here they stay open all year.  So nice of you to get cream puffs for your friends and family!  Something different than the usual gift.  I'll be making my yearly batches of muffins this coming week... only have to make 5 kinds now that I only have a few clients left.

HI to all!  Have a good football Saturday!  You, too, rues.  lol

Daily Updates
Ted, Etc. - UPDATE December 7, 2019
07 December 2019

Out the window at the WRI, I moved the block of suet from its usual spot 13 feet from the Pileated Male
Pileated male
end of my camera to a spot only 5 feet away. Gray jay
Gray jay
I was surprised and happy that the male pileated woodpecker was comfortable with me sitting that close to him. He apparently has seen me sitting here at my desk a lot, and closer was not that bad. He held still for a frame-filling picture of his beautiful head markings as he scanned for other danger. The gray jay seemed more cautious than the pileated even though gray jays are famous for landing on people?s hands for food. Beyond them, there were the usual culprits coming for their share, making me feel lucky to be here.

It?s fun watching the names come in for the courses?some old, some new. Each course is different, depending upon who is in it. Class 3 may be a course you want to be in or avoid, depending upon your goal. It has famous Charles A. Munn and a couple of his associates in it, coming specifically to pick my brain, so it will have a lot of good bear discussion. I look forward to seeing bears and also to the discussions about bears that spur extra learning. He is in Class 3?July 19-22?which has 5 signed up so far.

Yesterday, Scott and Spencer took more straw to Ted, and he knew what to do with it.

The first video is about the delivery.

The second is Ted making his spot comfy cozy, arranging the straw just right.

Good morning everyone- cool and windy here with a change in the air.  Really cold next week with temp going from 10 degrees above normal to 10 degrees below normal. Hubby brought a load of wood in because he thought we might get rain soon. I want snow! Haven't wanted to get my snowmen out- just too warm. These last few days have been so sunny- I did sit on the porch some.

Yay for Ohio State and Clemson- now for the pairings. I didn't listen to the talk about bowl stuff- any chance Clemson and Ohio State would playeach other?

We will be watching the Chiefs today. Would love, love, love it if they beat the Patriots. Steelers play the Cardinals at the same time but the Chiefs on tv here.

We got our first Christmas card here yesterday- hubby handed it to me with a grin on his face. It was addressed to me and hubby!lol Now who could that have been from? Beautiful photos on that card.ty
Both of us have slightly runny noses and hubby has a slight cough so we are staying in today.
Really enjoyed watching Ted arrange his new straw. I was surprised he used his mouth too. What a guy!!!

Time for breakfast- have a great day jewelies!

Cal, I got a very nice Christmas card yesterday, too! It has 2 of the sweetest looking dogs on it! :)  I need to get busy and get my cards sent! Got a card tucked in with our newspaper from the  carrier, too. She has been a terrible carrier. She always misses the porch or she doesn't get the paper delivered until after 10 am! Sundays are even later! Used to be neighbor kids delivered but anymore it's adults driving in cars and tossing the paper out their car window! I remember when Crow had his knee replaced we had a heck of a time keeping Molly away from his knee! I can imagine how hard it is to keep the dogs from wanting to jump up on Jim!

Lupe, our Dairy Queens are open year round and our Walmarts are open 24hrs a day! Our DQ recently moved out of their small building into the vacant Hardees building. Hardees had closed in the summer.

Ra, while Crow watched non stop football yesterday, I put up the Christmas tree! Besides college football on tv, he watched state high school A, AA, AAA championship games on the computer. He said the state AAA game was the worst game he had ever watched in his 70 yrs! He's 69. He must have been exaggerating!  :)

Have a nice Sunday, Jewelies!

HI Jewelies!  Nice day here, chilly though.  Supposed to get a lot of rain for the next two days.   Maybe I'll be able to finish my two Christmas quilts...

cal... Yes, I heard that about the crate of Chiefs' stuff.  I bet somebody got in trouble for not checking!!  KC ahead right now... yay!  Interception!  Nice!  And, another TD!!

rues... I was laughing too about Crow's 70 comment!  lol  He must have been exaggerating!  lol

lupine... I've never seen the bears taking straw into their mouths.  Have you?  I wonder if he was thirsty afterward...

Johoward... Well, well, well... looky who's teams get to play each other in Arizona!!  Should be a good game!  Can't wait until December 28!!  8pm!!

Have a good evening, Jewelies!
