Mike.

Greetings all.

I keep sleeping longer and getting up later and later and that makes me a GOM.

The Marlins did not lose lasts night.  They did not play.  Football started but I did not watch any game.

Let us make the most of this Friday.

Good morning everyone- yay jp- you 're awake- ty for the honey bee teddy bearand mike. It looks like mike could roll off that railing pretty easily.

cal- 3:46 or something close to that for the puzzle- glad I wasn't there- what an ominous looking cloud!  I slept in this morning too- stayed up til 10 to watch Alone on history channel- only I more episode to go. It's a challenge to go to the wilderness and survive but to do it without human contact is really difficult. This season they are having a rough time finding food- winter coming on. We have our favorites and one left last night.

Tank is doing well- I need to deal with an issue though- when he comes in he wants fed all the time- my fault- to train him to come when he's called I gave him food. Now when he comes in and I don't feed him- he bites my ankle or leg or claws my ankle or leg. We've talked about a spray bottle with water- hate to do it- but it really is annoying and it hurts.  Tank is enjoying coming in when it gets hot outside- I've never seen a cat pant as much as him. runs to the house- then pants. Lies on a wooden chair under the dining room table right in line with the ac.

I have a full day of tv lined up- tennis from Canada starts at 11AM and the Steelers have their first pre season game against the Eagles- probably won't be pretty! Need to get outside and work on cutting back stuff- see where Tank is!

Have a good day jewelies!

Hi everyone, had a wonderful morning- out trimming and deadheading I saw my first ever Monarch chrysalis on an iris.- it was well hidden- moved some cushion flowers to get to the iris and there it was- I carefully arranged the foliage back. Yay!
Then- on my way home from class this AM as I was coming to the bridge crossing a river- 2 very big birds flew low over the road in front of me. I stopped on the bridge- no traffic- and one had landed beside the river but one was still on the wing- it was juvies! We have bald eagle nests in our area but I don't ever remember seeing a juvenile. So exciting.  Hot and sticky here- inside watching Sloane Stephens play tennis and doing well. Football in an hour. Life is good!!

Good morning everyone- jp- ty for the sunflower teddy, lily and the Saturday butterfly.
cal- what a bummer-no rain. When we mowed this week it was really dusty in places and I didn't mow in some places- grass looked a bit stressed. I've been researching how to treat the lawn for grubs and found milky spore that you spray on- not harmful to earthworms, pets or humans. Now to talk to my landscape guy and see what he uses. I might have to apply it myself if he doesn't use this stuff. I turned off the ac this morning and opened the windows. Feels good but is supposed to get hot today again. It is August. Tennis was good Simona Halep won and Rafa won. Also the Steelers won their first exhibition game. I didn't recognize many players- new guys- Rothlisberger wasn't even dressed to play but was there. Didn't mean much but was fun to watch.
Tennis at noon today . Sloane Stephens is still in it but I don't know when she'll play. Also Rafa will play today probably in the night session. Noon to 4 and then 5PM to 9.

Went out on the front porch yesterday to see if swallow babies were still in the nest. Seems like we have had a population explosion in the last few days. I looked up and in the nest were 3 darling babies and an adult. They all  took off and flew around the yards. Such strong babies- I was impressed. Won't be too long now and they'll all migrate- maybe they go south for the winter. I'll miss them flying around my head and following me on the mower.
blschue- loved the horse video- that photographer sure was patient
Have a great day jewelies!

hi lupe i had to go to walmart get flea and tick for the dogs and sweets. two tubes for boo boo and augie big dogs big bucks. i ordered some kstate tee shirts for christmas and had my address right on the order hit order but some how they put my old town on it so it went there yesterday called my post office they got it and be here today. that is strange. probably not order from there again. manhattan ks store. already hot here. they said big chance wow a big chance of rain all day tuesday. i was going to mow the dogs yard but just a few weeds up like you said yard looks dry as dust so i did not mow. thank you for tennis info! oh boy will try to catch rafa playing! i saw steelers won i like big ben he did not play at all? well guess they know he is ready. my swallow babies all fledged but they all still fly up under the front porch and front area my lbb fledged from basement walkout i see them and the parents jim built a deck around the back of the pool they sit on it or my big tree that grew next to the retaining wall or pool rail. pool really really low i still got that blue cover on the water it is tattered but birds land on it take a bath get a drink.

wow cal you must spend a fortune on flea and tick stuff but it is so worth it. I have Duke today-yay! His parents are going to the state fair. Their farm is 150 years old. I guess there is a ceremony for that. Anyway- Duke and I are going to watch tennis and stay in where it is cool. I really like it that duke and Tank pretty much ignore each other- no growling, hissing or anything. Got to get lunch ready for us all then tennis. Just have duke over night and tomorrow. I really enjoy him.
