hiev1,

also just fyi i like the cleveland indians.  they are on rain delay now, but are doing pretty good this season.

Sorry to read about Joan.  Prayers on the way.

The Indians are 10 games ahead in the Central Division.  I have always liked them.  I remember when they had Bob Feller.  What a pitcher.  I like cal's Royals in that division byt they are 28-1/2 games behind Cleveland.  Cellar dwellers like my Marlins in the NL East.

Big Harry.

I wish everyone who reads this a wonderful Wednesday.  May you all have a day of health and happiness.  Warm thoughts, too, for Joan.

A Wild and Wonderful Couple Days - UPDATE August 7, 2018

Hyperphagia struck, and bears were willing to supplement their wild berries and hazelnuts. Calls came in.  Jewels cub

We loaded up the group and went where the bears were. Lily, Shadow, Ursula, Ty, Jewel and her cubs, and many more. Here at the WRI, we added a platform where timid bears like Spanky could avoid competition. We added a pool where bears could cool off. Ricky looked like he was actually bathing and at times just relaxing. The light was low, which meant a slow shutter that shows the motion.Ty

Good morning everyone-jp- ty for the oj teddy, big harry nd Wednesday wishes.

johoward- positive vibes are headed your way for you and joan; thrush sounds horrible- I think cal is right that it is a fungal infection and usually shows up a when body's defenses are compromised. Bummer big time. Hope relief is in sight.

nora- we've been home for a little over a week now and my goal for the day is to get everything unpacked- cleaned up and put away. So neat that joe appreciates the arts. I tried crafts when I was younger but everything I made looked like I made it- pretty awful! So I stick with photos though sometimes I fail at  capturing what I see.

rues- that rocky road was scary- I thought for sure someone was going to have to rescue us!

Our last 2 nights of camping were at Turquoise Lake near Leadville. This town still is pretty much like we saw it 30 years ago. There is a gulch where the columbines have been spectacular-- not this year though. In general none of the flowers were outstanding maybe because there was enough snow last winter, spring rains weren't plentiful or maybe we were just too late. We did see some lupines on the way up to the end of the road where columbines usually are. I climber a hill to take photos of individual plants. Really steep going up and a real challenge going down. Hubby was there to help- after much trial and error- I just sat down and slid down the last 15 feet. Other than a dusty butt it worked fine.

The day we left Leadville we stopped at a shop on the main street called Melanzana-  made in Leadville outdoor wear. We walked in and noticed sewing machines in back and that there was very little on the shelves and hanging racks.  Talked to a guy who said they were having trouble keeping up with demand. All product is made there from material they get from Tennessee. Wow- i'm big on made in USA so I tried to find something- got a hat. Stuff was reasonably priced too.
On our way to Fairplay to scope out the site of the Gold Rush shoe we went through Frisco and Breckenridge. Yikes- very little remains of the sleepy mountain towns- huge buildings and tons and tons of people. We went to Denver to spend 2 nights with our niece and nephew. got to visit their grandchildren. It was fun to hear their Mom tel them to call us great great aunt and uncle. They are 5 and 2. Went to visit Dr. Jeff's and the puzzle picture was one we did in 2 days. The drive home was uneventful- actually found a motel in Nebraska for $55 which included a cold breakfast. Wow. Felt good to be back- just disappointed in Colorado in general- too many people.

hi ev1,
WE got back from our favorite EMT at noon.  She did a very thorough exam.  Saw Thrush, other infection, and NO sign of abnormal growths.  Joan took new med, Micostatin , at 12PM.  At1PM she said lips and mouth already feel better.  Your prayers are powerful.  Thanks  Things are looking up.

Indians did great last night until the rain stopped.  Oh well maybe better tonight.

Thanks again to all you Jewlies for being here.  I wish the bear cams would work better.  All I get is a black screen almost all the time.  Tried 4 computers.  NABC cams do not work anymore.   They say it is my fault, and that i should buy newer computers.  I do not think it is me, because i have XP, 7, 10, and Safari on the 4 units.  They are HP Compaq, Dell PC, Lenovo PC, and Apple Ipad.  None of them will handle NABC cams anymore.

Thank goodness I still have RRP Cams, Key West Cams, and Snowman Cam.

Bye for now.  Thanks again and God bless.

Willi, everything this administration does makes me mad and angry.  >:(

Cal, congrats to Rick, Claire, the no vote on right to work and cousin Janice! Maybe Mr Kitty scared the mouse so bad that he ran away! If so, hope the friend and friend of a friend follow! Lol! Great update pics! Love Ricky in the pool! I'm excited for our 4 wheel ride!

Lupe, I have enjoyed reading about your trip and all the beautiful pics! Such pretty country you visited. Cool that you went to Dr Jeff's! Did you go inside?

Jo, hope Joan feels better soon. My mom had thrush once. That was the first time I heard of that. Sorry you are having trouble with the cams.  :(

Jp, great pic of Big Harry! Mmm fresh orange juice!

Did you all know that today is International Cat Day?  :)
