Jewel's 4-year old daughter Mikah.

Cheery Tuesday greetings to all.

Marlins beat the Cardinals 2-1 ending their losing streak.

Enjoying lupinelady's description of her vacation and the pictures.  I grew up in Northeastern Colorado so am more familiar with the northern Rockies and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Good morning everyone- thanks jp for the morning teddies, Mikah and kitty napping in the bird bath. funny you should mention rocky Mountain National Park. When we were trying to plot our next move I suggested RMNP and we both decided that would be better done on a fall trip- too many people in the summer. We do tend to take the road less travelled- of course this summer that was a challenge.  We did do Rt. 36 east from Byers in eastern Colorado- road less travelled.

cal-yay you have rain- we didn't get even a tenth yesterday but still some chances today. Turned off the ac- cool with just a little humidity. Can't believe you tore off an oil pan- wow- I would have been bummed. most of our problems were that we hadn't done these roads for years and why would we ask someone if roads are passable. This hubby is the one I met in the hills. He blames the state of the roads on the 4 wheelers and the dirt bikes- he says they dislodge the rocks instead of going over them and then it rains and washes away the dirt and all you are left with is rocks- well okay.

After yesterday's adventure I was ready for a quiet day-  we opted to take Cumberland Pass through Tincup and Pitkin. Tincup looks the same but Pitkin really built up with new summer homes. The pass was really rough- I had driven it many times in just a car but regular clearance cars should be warned. Again many, many years since we had done this pass. Cottonwood Pass (where the lupines are) was our preferred choice to get east. The first photo is sunset in Taylor Park from our campground and telephoto lens; then Cumberland Pass; columbines and mountain sunflowers near Leadville.

Actually Lupe JOE wanted to go to the art show, I agreed to go along.  I understand people put time into taking a picture or making things, but seems like a LOT of stuff there is REALLY expensive.  I was telling my sister about it and she thought it sounded like they were kind of high too, she goes to those things.  I just can't get over your trip!  You mentioned bird bath, you aren't home yet are you???  No I don't think so.  Cool how you met your hubby.

Lupe, beautiful pics! The rocky road and the turn around was a bit scary!

Cal, I always enjoy everything cousin Janice sends you! This one especially! Lol! For some reason I get email's from Claire McCaskill! I must have clicked on something on Facebook and that's how I got on her list! I would vote for her if she were in my state! Our state legislators voted for the right to work law in 2016. They forgot how the coal miners were treated years ago by the coal owners. >:( My dad would be appalled if he were alive. Hope your friend, Rick, wins! I saw that mess that your governor was in on the news awhile back. Great news from our governor.. yesterday he finally paid his back taxes! Won't say how much but estimates are $4 million!  Hope we get to go on a 4wheel ride tomorrow!

Jp, what a sweet ginger kitty napping in the birdbath! Looks like our Tela!

Nora, so good to see you!  :)

hiev1,

joan is making a nice warm coffee in her keurig.  she is trying to get over a bad sore throat.  i think it is thrush.  she went to an express care a week ago.  they gave her bmx, and told her she has a cold.  she has not been able to take her meds or eat anything for a week.  it has been a very bad week here. a real nightmare.  she is to see an ent tomorrow so i hope for her some relief.

asking for prayers again.

also just fyi i like the cleveland indians.  they are on rain delay now, but are doing pretty good this season.
