Thank you, Walton.  That is a beautiful verse.  Love September!

Walton - your poem is perfect to hail in the beginning of Fall.  My favorite season -"autumn's best of cheer."

gg - Monarchs are so beautiful.  Sounds like you had a ball and so interesting to be able to ID them and "kiss" them goodby and good luck on their migration journey.  Cool!

Saturday I had the most awesome experience at a Women of the Outdoors event ---tagging Monarch butterflies.  We were a sight to behold--women aging from high school sophomore to senior citizen, frolicking through wildflowers with giant nets to capture Monarch beauties, gender ID them, and place teeny eeny stickers on a certain spot on their wings, give them a kiss and lift them to the sky with an Adios Amigos...

If you ever have this opportunity, don't pass it by.

Monarch Butterfly

GG that must have been a wonderful experience.

Wait I can wait

     For the fullness of wings

For the lift     For the flight

Wait I can wait

     A moment less

     A moment more

I have waited much longer before

For the taste of the flower

For the feel     For the sight

Wait I can wait

For the prize of the skies

For the gift of the air

Almost finished

Almost there

     Almost ready

                    to rise

Wonderful, gg!  I particularly like this part:

One day in the woodland
Is a treasure I can store---
Relive each golden moment
    When winter's wild winds roar.

Thanks!

I want to feel the breath
Of crisp autumn on my cheek
And catch the vibrant heartbeat
    Of earth beneath my feet.

I love the cool, crisp feeling of autumn and I love to walk amidst crunchy leaves.  Throw in the scent of logs burning in a fireplace somewhere and nature's beautiful array of colors....ah!  :)  Thank you, GG, for this poem.

Thank you, GG.  September and October are my favorite months of the year and this poem describes the beauty of it perfectly.

So the problem is....Dad's the nest site locator.  And even tho' Mom is all for accepting the nice nest (N2B) the people started, Dad has a certain masonic pride in being "the builder".
Now, I think if everyone just puts out lots of good vibes whenever Dad is in the nest, and if you're lucky enough to be present at the hatchery, doing the same there, we can get him over the hump, he'll swallow his masculine pride, and he'll go about remodeling N2B into "the best nest ever"!!!!....at least until another one's necessary. :D
Just a thought.

Best song by the Beach Boys, gg!!  Suppose you were too young, but the Beach Boys were the first band I saw at the Roof Garden in Arnolds Park in the summer of 1964.  They were still a "surfer" band then, but still put on a great show.  Brian was on bass even.  I'm thinking "Good Vibrations" might have come out during the Summer of Love, 1967, but I'm only guessing.  Might have to google search....or listen again to your link and see if it's listed anywhere. :)
