Wilson,

Thank you ever so much for the heart-warming, soul-stirring, and calming video and song.  It is certainly helping me to let Bob go and to celebrate his remarkable spirit.

Peace to all who are sad,

seabee

Beautiful, GG.  Thank you so much, I love it.  I wish these kids could sing this at Bob Anderson's celebration of life.

Glad you posted this song here.  I saw it yesterday when Dobe posted it in Cheers.  It's wonderful to watch and hear all the kids singing it in that video!  I noticed, apparently, they are at a summer camp.  Wow.  It's just wonderful.  Bob would have loved it.  Maybe he did see that video along the way - it was from 2009, I think.

Thanks, GG!

I know I ma probably repeating these words, please allow me to write them.

but those who hope in the LORD
      will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles,
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

   Isiah 40.31NIV

In time may your heart be consoled, your courage renewed and your hope restored.

We all share in this loss.

Eagles of Inspiration
by Jim Weller

A single eagle atop a tree
speaks of many things to me.
I see a sentinel brave and strong
perched up high where he belongs.
Diligent throughout the day
aware of all that comes his way,
with eyes alert, he views the skies
for any threat that might pass by.

A pair of eagles in a tree
speaks of other truths to me.
I see a bond that none may shake
and only death itself dare break!
Devoted to each other so,
yet year by year devotion grows,
through every trial that they share
in togetherness and mutual care.

But a pair of eagles on the wing
makes my heart both laugh and sing!
Together, high up in the air,
they soar along without a care.
In unfettered freedom by and by
they dance their way across the sky
until, at last, as I strain to see,
they're absorbed into its azure sea.

What a blessing to behold
this sight more valuable than gold,
this sight that sets my spirit free
to be what I was meant to be!
It snaps harsh tethers of earthly care
and sends me high into the air!

We're designed by God to be so much more,
with hearts to watch, and love, and soar!

Thanks for that beautiful poem, glog.  I googled the poem and author and found that he is a member of the Eastwood Eagle Watchers, a group of eagle enthusiasts based in Dayton, Ohio.  He writes about the eagle pair who nest there.  He's also written and posted other poems.

Thanks glog!  What a gift!
Use the talents you possess: for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best.

Time to post one of my favorites:

The golden-rod is yellow;
The corn is turning brown;
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down.

The gentian's bluest fringes
Are curling in the sun;
In dusty pods the milkweed
Its hidden silk has spun.

The sedges flaunt their harvest,
In every meadow nook;
And asters by the brook-side
Make asters in the brook,

From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes' sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies.

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather,
And autumn's best of cheer.

But none of all this beauty
Which floods the earth and air
Is unto me the secret
Which makes September fair.

'T is a thing which I remember;
To name it thrills me yet:
One day of one September
I never can forget.
