My sister hasn't decided on her kitten's name yet! I texted her today to ask if she had, and she texted back that she is throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeing what sticks. LOL. She also said that this morning she was trying out Harriet, which she likes. So far, Honey, Honey Bun, Mabel, Harriet... Place your bets!  ;D

I sure hope all the Beakers, and family members, who are feeling puny will start feeling better soon!  :-*

Clynn, I don't know... I guess I've been a little busy. But mostly, I just haven't been drawn to sit at the computer much recently. I'm doing other things, like walking, and sitting on the porch to watch what moves at the pond, and running errands that could easily go without being run, and avoiding watching much news, except to get headlines at the standard national evening news hour time of day. Zippo and I have been conversing a lot lately, too.  (((Your Mom))) What kind of celebration will y'all have for Ed's retirement? Congrats to Ed! Friday's going to be a big day! I know he works from home these days, but will any of his co-workers organize anything special for his retirement? I think you're going to have more tomatoes than ever this summer!  ;) :D Lol on Turdbutt not being a turdbutt - loved the picture!  :-* :-*  Do you think Harley doesn't want to get caught being "cuddly" with Sam or Sophie? Might ruin his turdbutt image. LOL!  ;D Love the pic of the New River Gorge. That is one beautiful place!  The last time I drove over that bridge was on 09/10/2001... on my drive back home from visiting friends in Pittsburgh. Woke up with the rest of the world the next morning to the horror at the Twin Towers in NYC, and elsewhere.

Lani, Mike works really hard. I know he is a very valuable asset to the new owners! I know you must be looking forward to his retirement.  :) Love that SSTrig chick! LOL, keeps leaving the nest!! Glad the parents have been able to find her so far!! So funny that she got "kicky" when she was put back on the nest after being weighed!  :D :-*

Phyl, sorry to hear about the injured Snow Leopard cub. You and Jim keep getting better.

Karen, ugh on the ipad issues. Hope you can get the new one set up and stuff moved over to it before too long. A Meyer lemon tree would be great! Glad to hear Mickey is going to be able ot visit for a couple of weeks soon! Will her friend be coming with her this trip, too? Hugs to Piper. I'm not sure what the typing lady was getting to about a vet visit for Piper. I thought Piper had gone to the vet recently, and iwll go back for a dental visit later this summer. I'm sure I missed some news on that part. But, anyway, I hope Piper is doing well, and isn't sick. Oh, pooh, on your back. Bothersome! I hope you can get some more help for that pain.

Lisa, glad to hear the meds helped some, and hope you're feeling better fast!

Tig, glad the storms didn't cause problems at your place.

TSK, oh I hope you get word back from Tim's doc soon! I'm so sorry he is having those issues, and hope his doc can find a way to improve that for him.

BL, that's a good way to handle having a working copy and backup for posts.

Waving to All the Beakers! Take care, and enjoy your day!  :) :-*

 ;)  ;D   I've been considering...

bsz lololol! Baz, Piper went to the vet for a get acquainted visit, check up, etc,   She is great except for a broken tooth!, I’m  I have a cancellation list for an appointment during Mickey’s visit,  I am not in a hurry to get this done but since usually they have to be taken in early in the morning and picked up Clayton afternoon, I would prefer to do that while she is here As I do not have transportation during those particular hours. We will see. I may call the vet she was going to and see if they can take her during those days.    There are two lemon trees in my backyard now ready to go and Pat and I am afraid they are actually trees and not the small bushes that I had previously.;  I don’t mind except that I will not be able to harvest the fruit if they grow to giant size I’ll have to see.
Going to fix. dinner,

BL, good idea on saving posts, I have done that a few times! But mostly not.

What would be the chance that auto save could be added to this forum program?

Thanks for the Steve Winwood!

Clynn, this was what I got on a Google search for the forum format that is currently being used here.

Simple Machines Forum -or- SMF version 2.0.19 .

Quote from:  Answer Google AI
To enable autosave in Simple Machines Forum (SMF) 2.0.19, you don't need to enable it directly. SMF 2.0.19 and later versions have autosave functionality built-in by default. When a user is composing a post or private message, the content is automatically saved every few minutes in a temporary format. [1, 2]
Key points about SMF autosave: [1, 2]

• Automatic: Autosave is enabled by default and doesn't require any specific configuration.
• Temporary: The saved content is temporary and only accessible to the user during their current session.
• Interval: Content is saved automatically at regular intervals (around every few minutes). [1, 2]

Now I really have no idea what that practically means for us posting here.   ;)

Hi  :)

baz, I remembered but been forgetting to answer your question from days ago. The drive from my home to cabin is 2 1/2 hours.

tsk, All Zebra Finches are gone. I had them years ago. No I hadn't planned to raise so many. How it happened is this. Story time.  :D
I took my dog Zeus, Saint Bernard and awesome .. soooo smart. I had my Zeusie 13 years. Anyway I took him to his groomer. She had a cage with 2 finches in it. They needed a home. Awwwwww (sucker Paulie had walked in) She said put fake eggs in the nest to prevent multiplication. Me? I replied, "Oh no I couldn't ever do that to them." HA!! After 11 additional finches there were so many fake eggs in the different nest they were definitely confused and sitting on them.  ;D

Lani, No to me doing Pinterest. Thank you for telling me about it. No to still having Finches. Last week someone asked me if I wanted 3 Canaries. NO!!  :)

clynn, Ed's sister had fun too!! lol  I had 3 large or extra large bird cages. Cleaning frequently was important .. plus other pets .. dog and 3 cats. Oh yeah and 4 children. LOL We all here reading had busy lives years ago and still do today. My problem is ... I wish I had the energy I had back then years ago!!  It got lost somewhere.  ;D

karen, Good you got Piper on cancelation list.

tsk, Good about Tim's meds. So it was his med's causing bradycardia?

Charlie had routine cardio visit today. He's been feeling more tired. Last Autumn his ICD shocked his heart 2X within 5 minutes. One of his meds was increased but cannot increase any higher. Anyway now it's either continue at higher dosage which isn't preferred due to side effects or oblation. But for him oblation is more detailed and intense so he'd have to go to John Hopkin's in Md for more specialized procedure. He chose not to do this.

Lisa, Love your morning pic. Good about your nose and cough! Yay to karen.

baz, Good one! Me too. I'm soooo scared of $10.6 Billion.  :D

Well the cabin was in direct line of the storms after they passed through Pittsburgh. I was able to watch from the front and rear Ring cameras. I keep an eye on the tall trees that are everywhere and the water for puddling/flooding around cabin. Well we lost power. I was getting alerts and warning for the storm. Then lost power so the Ring cams aren't working now. They're hard wired in cabin. Our cables are underground to the powerline way behind the cabin. I got a text from electric company that crews are being dispatched to locate the problem. Good thing is with the warmer temps we don't need electric to keep heat on for well water pipes not to freeze.
We're going to call contractor tomorrow to ask if he can go to check cabin to ensure no downed trees on it or other damage. Hopefully just power out.

I'm afraid to his Post because this is going to be long. I did answer questions though.  :)
Night. SED

There is a small pond/lake nestled in a remote area of Vermont that has a beautifully run small state campground around it.
Vermont built ADK type shelters, tent sights and a couple of cabins very smartly situated.
It's so quiet there on some summer nights that you can here a mouse pissing on cotton.

https://mapper.acme.com/?ll=43.69270,-73.21838&z=10&t=U

Click on the +5 and then - back out.

It sits in a corridor of never harvested VT heavily wooded true virgin forest.

The abundance of critters of every description that thrive there at different times of the year are astonishing.

I've always been drawn back to there.
I and we have been going there for decades in all types of weather and I've been there in every calender month of the year.

~ SO ~

One night at about 10 o'clock on a August night the forest gets extra really quiet.

The sky is Wyoming clear full of shooting stars and satellites laying on a picnic table a watching that with the embers a fading.

I still can't type it out as it really ear sounded.

Well protected ground mammals such as porcupine are taking cover.

As in taking refuge 40 feet up a pine tree right above us.

Barred owls hunt prey and take them with very little noise.

Not this mob.

The Barred owls here 'hunt' in organized 'packs'.

So mom Porcupine and her babies put out the most hair raising calls I've ever heard and I've heard me some.

Howdy Beakers!  :)

This is a more fun video than the last one I posted. LOL. Be sure to turn the sound on! Fun to watch allthe way through to see the different bird species and which nuts or seeds they pick out, and their sounds. Love the male Cardinal bringing a seed to his girl!  :) :-* :-*

Baz, Love this video! Especially the Cardinals  :-* .... yep, your video to Kb sounds like a Fox to me. I remember the first time I heard it, I thought a woman was screaming. Gave me goose pimples!  :o
